Nah this was already explained before. Chopper’s fall haki is apparently super recognizable because Zoans leak “panic aura” whenever they fall from crazy heights. Giants are naturally good at sensing it.
Loki knew instantly because reindeer-type Zoans supposedly give off a specific frequency
, Oda mentioned something like that in an SBS.
Sanji felt it too but couldn’t tell it was Chopper specifically since his Observation Haki wasn’t focused enough at the time.
Luffy questioning it is probably setup for the next haki evolution where haki can actually remember who passed through an area.
What the hell are you talking about? Source?

Its the same as when people heard Luffy's "voice" disappear when he died vs Kaido.

Yeah exactly, that’s probly the same principle. Oda’s been hinting for a while that “voice”, haki, and Zoan instinct are partially overlapping systems but people keep treating them like seperate things. When Luffy’s voice vanished vs Kaido, multiple people sensed it instantly even across the island, so Chopper’s panic-frequency leaking during a sudden fall isn’t really that weird by comparison. Especially for ancient giant cultures like Elbaf who are implied to have more natural attunement.

It also kinda explains why Whitebeard’s presence was described as physically overwhelming even before he used haki directly. Some characters seem to leak “identity pressure” naturally, and Zoans probably amplify it emotionaly. Wouldn’t even be shocked if Imu’s presence works the opposite way and erases their “voice” almost completely, which is why Observation users never properly react to them onscreen. Oda loves mirroring concepts like that.

Keep in mind, the only individual who felt the loss of Luffy's voice at that moment was Momo, who also hears the "Voice of all Things". Everyone else learned of Luffy's "death" through Kaido announcing it.

Pretty sure Kidd and Law commented that they could no longer hear it.

Oh yeah, Law, specifically, did mention it. Law could've simply sensed it since Luffy was right above them at the time of his 2nd loss. However, I have also theorized that Law also can hear the VOAT.

So I'm re-reading bits of One Piece randomly, as I do, and I came to Zou to check out some of Kine'mon's scenes again.

After the group discover that the Minks have protected Raizo and everyone going to see him where he was hidden, Momo mentions hearing the voices from the Whale again. While he's speaking about it, his dialogue overlaps with a panel of Law, who keeps silent. I'm curious if that was implying that Law could hear the voice as well, but just hadn't said anything about it.
All that to say, Luffy questioning himself regarding how he knew it was Chopper seems to imply it's not something he associates with basic CoO.

Law is a D after all.

I actually think Imu will be the one to leave, we know that he can't be away from home for too long

Yeah, it’s just a matter of surviving until Imu’s time limit runs out. After that Sommers and Killingham are back to being screwed.

The whole plan is basically screwed now anyways though. The giants have been freed from DR so even if Sommers and Killingham manage to get the kids on a ship and sail away, the giants will just chase them on other ships and it’s not like 2 humans are going to be able to sail a giant ship as well as a full crew of giants, and they definitely aren’t out running the Sunny. If Scopper is on Rayleigh’s level, he could probably just catch up to them by swimming.
Jimbei being alive at the end of this would be enough to thwart the escape because he could definitively catch up and sink the ship and then call a bunch of whale sharks to give the kids a ride home while the God Knights drown.

The only chance of getting the kids is for Imu to kill everyone, but that kind of defeats the purpose of taking the kids hostage. (And obviously can’t happen for plot reasons)

I'd go as far to say that Sommers and Killingham being taken out will further shorten Imu's already limited time.

First we see Luffy directly ask Momo to tell everyone that he's still going to win.

Then a few pages later Law's whole crew heard Luffy's "talking underwater", it was how they found him and brought him to shore. It's unclear what Law's crew heard, considering Luffy asked Momo specifically. But it seems they could also hear "something" somehow.

Or Oda is doing another "devil's luck" moment and it's sheer coincidence that the Polar Tang found Luffy's body instantly.

I do have the workings of a theory for how the VOAT relates to the D and how Law's crew heard him *because* they were the crew of a D (the idea being later on a reveal would happen with how the D is actually passed down from captain to crew)

I think so too. I don't know how exactly this omen Imu gave them work but if we assume he always have to share portion of his own power with his "pacted" subordinates then if Killingham and Sommers will be defeated it could affect Imu. I do believe that they (including Imu) won't leave Elbaf scot free. One of the Knights may even die (most likely Sommers because of metal heart thing) and that along with time limit may keep Imu out of commision for some time. Plus it could force him to put more pressure on York so she would try harder on replicating Motherflame. For now she's just throwing temper tantrums because she's hungry instead of actually working for that CD treatment she want soo badly.

Ok, it would be funny and ironic if one or both Knights would ended up down there in Underworld as prisioner/s. Though that could happen only if Imu would leave but Killingham and Sommers couldn't for some reason. For example if magic circle would be somehow destroyed right after Imu left.

i kinda get the feeling Imu's control over omen is more like... maybe he IS the pact itself and the fuel source is something else.

there's been theories a rumblin' that it could be all of the Celestial Dragons living on the Red Line basically being infinite maki generators (what with their infinite corruption and no other visible use case for Imu outside of picking out a few stooges for Knights).

Yeah, that has me stumped. It really doesn't make sense that they heard anything from Luffy and I don't know why Oda had that line in there (unless it's a Viz mistranslated). Having them happen upon the sinking Luffy would be more than enough of an explanation given that they were already on their way to Onigashima.

After Harold's death, Imu seemed to have implied that the Covenants have a cost after and that was why he was unwilling to send more Holy Knights to Elbaf, so I have to imagine it is the case.

Huh, now that's interesting thing to think about. I never thought about that. Yes, that really sounds possible. CDs are otherwise useless because they can't do shit and rely only on their slaves. I think they don't even eat on their own. And they don't have any ACTUAL function like management, decision making or literally anything. They just live up there for no reason and are getting spoiled rotten just because. So, I really can see Imu literally feeding on their corruption and meaningless cruelty. Hmm actually, mayby that's one of reasons why he can't leave Marie Geoise and prefer to show up as shadow in real world. In Marie Geoise he can draw basicaly infinite maki out of CDs but in real world beside fact that his body isn't supposed to be out there Imu may also have limited amount of it because he's away from his source. Of course his limit could be still really high but it would be problem for him if he would SOMEHOW run out.

Btw, in current chapter Imu dosen't really look soo good. He's coughing and wheezing like crazy despit fact that he wasn't even THAT wounded. I may be too optimistic about it but I think he will hit his limit in few moments.

That seems like a reasonable assumption, but I really don’t want them taken out while Omened up this early. Zoro and Sanji being able to takeout Omened God Knights this early would make the inevitable fight against the WG pretty anti-climactic.

Hmm, mayby once Imu will hit his limit and will have to leave immedietly Sommers and Killingham will be occupied by Zoro and Sanji and won't be able to escape. And you know, once Imu isn't there omen would also disapear and those two will be focked again. I kinda like to imagine that Imu could literally have to run for his life to get back to Marie Geoise before he exhaust his limit and that way he would show how they get to Elbaf. It could result with whoever would chase Imu to try and destroy the circle which will close their way to Elbaf.

It should be fine. The Gorosei would still be up for grabs for the two of them, while the remaining Strawhats and a couple Revos can have the remaining 6 other Holy Knights. Imu could also potentially recruit other, which may end up further weakening him.

For example, his Covenants may require him to redistribute his power rather than him just giving out power willy nilly, thus the limit to 13 Covenants. So if he doesn't take back the power like with Saturn and the Knight is killed by an outside force, it's gone for good and it's a permanent loss for him. Thinking about it, the limit was 13, but maybe after Harold, it's now 12.

Recruitment and conscription should be bigger subjects of prediction right now. The WG's failure with Loki should be shown as a success elsewhere, shouldn't it? Likewise the Marines will also have to shore up numbers, I wonder if they'll start mass conscripting civilians as friction forms between them and the WG.

I wouldn't doubt it if there was even some cross-contamination- Aramaki seems like he was invented to be a perfect God's Knight, and an Admiral gaining an undying body AND omen sounds fucking terrifying

And we all know Oda loves his Guess Who The Traitor Is mystery, so I'm always keeping an eye out for defectors everywhere. I've seen some people suggest V. Nusjuro is hella suspicious amongst the others, and knowing what we now know of Imu's Covenants literally changing the victim's worldview (poor Harald becoming a race supremacist in less than a day was grim), it's not unlikely that even a great samurai of Wano could be brought to heel.
