Ground Rules for the Power Level Discussion Thread

As always, please follow the guidelines set by the Forum Rules that apply across the board.

It's important that discussions from a current chapter are spoiler tagged until 24h have passed from an english release.

• For the sake of constructive discussion, where and when possible please quote/ source any information you provide. Particularly when it comes to conversations carried over from other threads.
• Avoid passive agressive posts, sly remarks or baiting/trolling. You can certainly have fun or disagree without it being at someone's expense.
• Only use anime examples that are canon and as means to provide clarity to pages in the manga. Any other anime material is otherwise non-canon and should only be referenced if it can be proved that the mangaka had approved it.
• We will strive to avoid repetitive discussions and any extensive battle topics will be guided to the Davy Back fight to existing threads or new ones can be made there.

As of now these topics are shelved due to repetitiveness or until the manga can present us with material to further discussions:

Speaking of meteors, the manga vastly underestimates the power of a meteor.

Looking at that panel, Fujitora released several meteor, the largest one with a diameter around 500m (compared to Pica's statue).

The Chelyabinsk meteor was only 20m and it had the force of 30 Hiroshimas.

In real life, Fujitora's attack would have destroyed a continent.

True but also he controls gravity so it was likely a controlled attack. Fuji just wanted to show he was also trying rather than actually doing something to the very end of the arc.

The catch was if he tried something stronger it could have caused casualties.

Fujitora's meteorites so far haven't been that big. We don't know if he could actually pull one like that.

True but Fujitora hasn’t gone remotely all out for all we know he could bring down meteors as big as the one in the third picture... if not as big as the one in the first picture.

The meteors he released on Dressrosa only destroyed a small part of the city. Akainu used a similar attack Whitebeard's ship.

You posted a picture of a meteor that would kill all lifeforms on the planet. Is that not a big "if"?

Agreed, OP simply vastly underrates, for convenience, the sheer power of even a small meteor. Dunno if the case can be made that fujitora is intentionally slowing them down somehow. Then again the case can be made that in OP astrophysics are rather different than ours. And perhaps the distances being covered are well shorter than compared to our world.. Enel made it to the moon on a boat and hasn't died from a lack of oxygen... Add to that that his trip would have been longer than the short story implied (I think it implied it was relatively quick at least). And if enel was pulling meteors from space... they'd be covered a distance o at least several hundred km in an instant.

Oh, ok, here is another explanation regarding fujitora's meteors: They aren't actually meteors and he couldn't actually summon one even if he wanted. We saw towards the end of dressrosa that fujitora was able to lift pretty much all the debris from the fight against doflamingo and pretty much threw it at the strawhats. So his meteors aren't actually pulled from space at 20k km/h but rather he prepares them before a battle and simply has them float around over him, high enough that people can't see them but low enough that he can insta hurl them at enemies.

One Piece world's gravity and atmosphere are different too. All you need is a helium inflated balloon to go space ( if you are chopper size).

I always assumed those meteors Fujitora brings are the ones he's placed already. If that is correct, its probably not at a great distance so the velocity would be much lower..

Even he goes all out, he would never summon something that could destroy the planet. That would make no sense.

I liked the reactions from Doffy and Law in the anime, to the first meteor from Fuji. They could handle the power but it wasn't easy.

Here you can clearly see how big Pica's statue is compared to Dressrosa as a whole:

Pica's statue was nowhere the size of a city. It was smaller than the King's Plateau.

Thats just his upper half, his full form is twice that, he was bigger than anything in that country by a large margin

Fujitora's probably one of the stronger characters in the manga, that level of destruction is massive...but then again, he can't exactly rain meteors in a fight since he can't control the resulting explosion. I wonder if his gravity can act as a "shield" around his body to protect him?

I'm very curious to see what the other new admiral's power is. But it would also be cool if he had no DF. Just a strong ass guy, like Roger, Garp, Shanks, etc.

I'd say Ace was below the admirals but he could compete with most Yonkou admirals/first mate. Though I'm interested to see how he'd do against Aokiji, given Aokiji's ice.

Debatable, it's weird as PIrate Queen's post above shows. But if Aokiji's ice can stand up to magma, there's no reason to believe it can't stand up to fire, and Aokiji took immense beating, allegedly, and still kept fighting.

Aokiji did not take a beating. Both of em were relatively equal.

That's my point. Aokiji would easily overwhelm Ace since he's on a higher level.
