Ground Rules for the Power Level Discussion Thread

As always, please follow the guidelines set by the Forum Rules that apply across the board.

It's important that discussions from a current chapter are spoiler tagged until 24h have passed from an english release.

• For the sake of constructive discussion, where and when possible please quote/ source any information you provide. Particularly when it comes to conversations carried over from other threads.
• Avoid passive agressive posts, sly remarks or baiting/trolling. You can certainly have fun or disagree without it being at someone's expense.
• Only use anime examples that are canon and as means to provide clarity to pages in the manga. Any other anime material is otherwise non-canon and should only be referenced if it can be proved that the mangaka had approved it.
• We will strive to avoid repetitive discussions and any extensive battle topics will be guided to the Davy Back fight to existing threads or new ones can be made there.

As of now these topics are shelved due to repetitiveness or until the manga can present us with material to further discussions:

1. Shanks v Mihawk
2. Hand to hand fighters > Swordsmen
3. Zoro > Luffy
4. Zoro v Sanji
5. Is Smoker a top 30 character?
6. Mihawk's rank within the story
7. Law having CoC currently.
8. Katakuri > Kaido/Luffy/Etc.

If you wish to continue any of these discussion and remove it from the list, you will need to provide manga material as proof. If there's also anything you think we've covered numerous times, let me know and I'll update the list.

This is the only warning there'll be regarding these ground rules, anything no adhering will be removed. So please just check your posts before posting them.

I think Kaido and Shanks are around the same level with Kaido having a slight edge while he who must not be named is noticeably superior to Shanks.

El Risitas was famous here in the 90s. Why the hell did he become a meme now? lol

The more I see attempts at ridiculing Zoro's performance, the more eager I become for him to show off when he finally chooses to. My faith in him is unshaken.

Its just funny I don't hold any stalk in it. I see less attempt st ridiculing Zoro than hyping him to GOD levels.

I do understand having a favorite character and starving for feats of them. I was a huge Guy fan from the Naruto series. It was along wait for anything badass from him and eventually we got Guy going 8 Gates and being acknowledge as "The Greatest Taijutsu User" by the Great Madera Uchiha.

It was a long but well worth it wait.

Hopefully Zoro fans get enough by Wano's end.

I do know many Zoro fans hyped Wano up as "Zoro's Arc" just because Sanji got his own arc and that has sadly ended in disappointment for them. A complete lack of distinguishing feats and its already towards the end of the arc. It's certainly been a tough wait for you all. I too look forward to a better showing from him.

sanji vs king makes more sense cause sanji can fly ? zoro really hasn't been pushed to grow in the new world , luffy has faced a lot of upper tiers that forced him to grow an improve ( katakuri , cracker , doflamingo ) and he's had proper training arcs to force him to grow , i'd say the first upgrade zoro got was enma which i assume he's saving for a big fight

Nothing Sanji has done so far suggests he is as strong as Ichiji, i would say Sanji currently is as strong if not a little stronger than Niji but for Ichiji Sanji would need to do a lot, i mean Ichiji was able to hold of Katakuri and OHKO Oven someone comparable to the Flying 6, while Sanji needs to put in a lot of effort to beat Page One

IMO Sanji is wanked much more. Judge top 5. Gin secretly being a top tier and god knows what else. And the infamous Sanji = Zoro when Sanji was clearly weaker than a seat while Zoro murked the strongest seat.

I have, but I have seen even more "Zoro will kill Kaido" "Zoro is the only First Mate Stronger than his Captain" "Zoro will be the Strongest in verse One Piece Character" meme.

Zoro is popular beyond belief so obviously his fans are going to have a bigger toxic fan base.

Zoro hype > Zoro hate. Its just how it is.

The funny thing is. Maybe 20% of Zoro fans are toxic. But they are the MOST vocal. And it's a sad thing for the fanbase. Most Zoro fans I know are decent, with great ability to voice the facts of him as a whole. Other fans, who shall remain nameless, ruin it for the vast majority. Hell my girlfriend is such a zoro fangirl she sleeps with a zoro body pillow

The father of a main character being super strong is a cliché.

Usopp and Sanji aren’t really main characters (especially the latter), they’re sort of pseudo-main characters. The OG 3 are the only full-on main characters.
