Big Mom does not have combat speed compared to Katakuri's ACoC. Kid had the advantage that his target was huge, but with somebody like Katakuri who can dodge various attacks, then Kid wouldn't be able to land a hit on him.
Don't compare Kid and Luffy. Luffy is a league above Kid. Y'all are acting like it was Kid who solo'd Big Mom without any outside interference. Kaido has blitz speed NOT Big Mom, at least it hasn't been shown. Neither does Kid. Or provide a panel where it seems that Kid's speed can overcome Katakuri's.
Kid's DF isn't that special or extraordinary like Katakuri's. Neither is Kid's CoA or CoC. Katakuri beats him high diff.
In OP power levels you cannot go by off A>B>C, therefore A>C. It is more complex than that. Especially when it was A+D>B>C>A or D. Which is literally Kid+Law > Big Mom > Kata > Kid or Law.
Katakuri is being underestimated because he was last arc's villain that Luffy barely managed to defeat. There are people who believe that Katakuri was the actual winner and allowed Luffy to win because he liked him at the end, also because Luffy kept running away and Katakuri self-inflicted himself. I am one of those. I believe Luffy surpassed Kata only once he learned ACoA in Udon.
BM has combat speed superior to Katakuri, purely by scaling to base Kaido. This is based on manga feats.
If base Kaido is that much faster than BM, how did they go onto fight for hours in Onigashima? Kaido should've kept outspeeding and landing hits on BM and finished her off eventually.
Nobody is comparing Kid and Luffy, Luffy is obviously stronger.
Nobody is acting like Kid solo'd BM lol, people just point out that he has combat speed somewhat relative to BM because he was the one mostly brawling with her, and has attack power which can damage BM. Both of which are factual as per manga.
As for Kid vs Katakuri:
1. Kid can land at least some of the hits, purely by scaling his combat speed to BM
2. Kid doesn't even need to land hits to disrupt Katakuri's combo, he just need to assign which doesn't even need contact. Assign disrupts the future sight + body tweak combo of Katakuri, which is what makes it hard to land hits on him to begin with.
What is the basis of Katakuri > Law or Kid? Both Kid and Law are FAR above Katakuri in both attack power and durability. The only point of contention is really combat speed, and we have reason to believe that both Law and Kid can at least get in a few hits for sure, considering they could keep up with Yonkos in combat.
And just by scaling, Kid or Law alone could give BM a mid diff at least for sure. While Katakuri would just get low diff'd.
And yes, I get the point about matchups. The thing is, Kid or Law aren't really bad matchups against Katakuri. They both have the capability to deal with his fighting style.
I too believe Katakuri basically let Luffy win, but that isn't relevant at this point.
Post WCI Luffy was still
relative to Katakuri, and could've given him an extreme diff. Current Luffy would just low diff him. Power creep has been massive in his arc.
You keep ignoring 3 important things about Katakuri.
1. Katakuri's Haki and attack power was superior to Luffy's (not current Luffy tho). Dude did the same thing Kaido did to Luffy and even better (without weapons) - in a clash of fists. Kaido uses his Kanabo to achieve similar or arguably better result. Katakuri is definitely more than capable of damaging Kaido. Can't say the same for the other 1st commanders except Zoro (his captain is a Yonko now). Beckmann should be capable too but he's still a mystery.
2. So far we only have 3 confirmed Future sight users in the series and Katakuri is simply the best of them all. Kaido barely uses it since he prefers tanking and wearing out his opponents but even when he does, it's still not nearly as impressive as Katakuri's. Katakuri was seen evading most of Luffy's snakeman attacks (still the fastest shown in the Manga imo). Kaido was helpless against it and at one point screamed at Luffy to stop!
3. Luffy basically lacked observation Haki - much less future sight - in his first battle against Kaido. He was overcome by anger and emotion as he just lost what he thought was his crew. Even Law was trying to calm him down so you all should get that right first. Although the oneshot itself is most likely an outlier, nonetheless, Kaido had to be given feats.
The narrative is clear that Oda needed to show off Kaido's power and that isn't possible if his opponent is a future sight user. So he had to rob Luffy off it with that scenaro at play.
1. I said they are
relative. I agree that Katakuri's haki and attack power was superior to post WCI Luffy's, but not by much. If Katakuri's attack power and haki is 10, Luffy's is 9.5
Your claim of Katakuri being capable of damaging Kaido is completely baseless and contradicted by the manga. If Luffy's attacks did zero damage to Kaido, so will Katakuri's. It's really as simple as that,
2. G4 Luffy in raid who split sky >>> post WCI G4 Luffy, in all stats including speed. Just because the Luffy after multiple powerups did it doesn't mean WCI Luffy could lmao, what kind of logic is that? Do you expect Luffy's speed to just stay contast throughout the arcs?
As for Katakuri being of the 3 with future sight, it matters because?? High combat speed is an established means to counter future sight. AAlso, Kaido wasn't helpless against it, once he started using his own future sight he started evading most of them. He told Luffy to stop in some weird kind of drunken mode lol.
3. So? Point anyway is that Kaido was leagues superior to post WCI Luffy.
If Kaido could blitz Luffy, it just means that his natural speed was far superior to Luffy's natural speed. Kaido was simply so much faster than G4 Luffy in beginning of Wano, that it wouldn't have changed much anyway. Future sight might have allowed him to dodge a couple of them, end result wouldn't have changed at all, cause future sight could do only so much. You IRL won't be able to dodge bullets if you had future sight, for example.
