It is also nice from Oda as always. Arc began with Luffy meeting Vegapunk at Iron Giant's emplacement. Which indicates, once again, how strong and good is Oda.

best case regarding parallel stuff is having luffy figure out how to hurt gorosei permanently, just like how joyboy managed to hurt guys like gorosei or the gorosei themselves (assuming they are from that ancient time).
