Me? That was just a suggestion. Kureha is still alive even 109 years ago, when she was 32 years old, so it was something to speculate on.

IIRC @zetsu banned was the first one to mention that young Kureha might make an appearance during Harald‘s flashback.

I make so many wild guessing predictions I may have lol. I'm a timeline nerd so whenever I see the narrator say "X Years Ago..." my first instinct is to fly over to a wiki timeline to see what was going on that number of years ago. There aren't a lot of characters we care about that were alive and active a hundred years ago- Kureha just happens to be on that list. Also Clover was born two years after this flashback, neat.

Speaking of timeline shenanigans, lots of interesting stuff around this period, including this sequence of events:

127 years ago: Saul is born
113 years ago: Caramel had started her slaving operation
109 years ago: the Giant Pirate rampage
102 years ago: Dory and Brogy begin their duel on Little Garden
100 years ago: Caramel sets up the Sheeps House in Elbaf.

Considering this timing... was Saul one of the children sold to the WG????? Saul would be 27 by the time the Sheeps House opens up, very much still a kid for giants. It's possible he was the very first one sold, a giant who's also a D would definitely give Caramel all the good graces she could ever have with the WG. Anyways, incoming hot young Caramel at some point I suppose. She was born around the same time as Kureha lol.

Also at some point in this series of events, Morley is captured and creates Impel Down lv 5.5. Was she on the Giant Pirates crew? So much interesting stuff could be weaved into this flashback

I'm still thinking about whom activated Emeth 200 years ago and do the timeline match? If Emeth needed the Drums of Liberation to activate then someone had to had been Nika or somehow harness the Nika Devil Fruit power without eating it and I wonder if it was Harold? I feel like Harold wield the Nika Devil Fruit power as a Devil Fruit Weapon and turn the Great Giant Warrior Pirates into Nika Form. It's the only way I can see why the Giant Warriors Pirate are said to be feared and make sense why Big Mom was pissed off at Lola and saying she would of ruled the World already.

I can't check now, but wasn't stated in Big Mom flashback that John Giant was the first?

He was the first giant to enlist in the Marines, yeah. It's possible Saul was sold first and enlisted later, but it's splitting hairs- I don't really care if he was first but it is conspicuous that he was born in that time period and also somehow ended up in the Marines.

But Saul isn't from Elbaf, he said that in Robin's flashback, so the fact that the Sheeps House was in Elbaf doesn't help.

Technically we don't know if he is 45 years old. The narrator just say it was the age he became king, not the this has just happened

That‘s an assumption, as I‘m pretty sure we were never told about her place of birth and where she grew up. And knowing Oda he had his reasons for not letting ud know back then.

In the Vicre Cards it says she was born in Drum.

I don't think the princess seen in this chapter will have a role.

But we can't assume that all marine's giants are orphans sold to the WG, we are sure only of John Giant.

I‘m under the impression you are familiar with people wanting to change their gender or simply feeling like they should not belong to the gender they were born with. Well you see I‘m not even good with describing the issue. So here‘s the thing in Morley‘s case, you are referring to Morley as a she because of“her“ talking and behaving like a woman (I take). But is it confirmed that “she“ wasn’t born with a female body and gotten her gender changed by Ivankov at one point? And here goes my curiosity question, if Morley was a woman that wanted to be changed into a man would you be calling them her or him?

I‘m under the impression you are familiar with people wanting to change their gender or simply feeling like they should not belong to the gender they were born with. I am pretty learned on the subject yeh. The minutiae of how or why a person is this or that gender isn't really necessary to dig through (or what they were born with for that matter). In the ways that *do* matter, Morley refers to herself in terms that femme folk tend to so that's really the end of it. Same deal with Yamato in the other direction, but I've already made a thread for that elsewhere.

In no other area of self-identification do people have to "prove" themselves quite like genderqueer people have to prove who they are to cis folk. Are we fascinating in an oftentimes weird way to cis folk? Yeh, but is anything involving our junk situation anybody else's business? Not really outside of romantic circumstances. I'd be calling Morley whatever she wanted to be called, which as far as we can tell through the complex translation pipeline from japanese to english, chick's a chick.

Interesting comparison with Yamato and Morley. Yamato has been referred to as son and Kaido’s daughter within the same manga, so I take it as Oda establishing that it’s fine to refer to Yamato as he or she, reinforced by Oda drawing Yamato with men in baths or women on color spreads.
