Thank you all for participating in this event! This was a record year of participants and I'm glad about that! Thanks for the production and marketing team of Joker for such an excellent poster to use as banner material to lure curious people in!

Honestly, watching this carpet broadcast, I'm starting to feel like Parasite actually might have a chance after all. And I'm loving that.

Yeeeah but aaargh, that's the pitfall every year, for me at least.

I always try to distance myself each and every year, but there's always a film that I feel REALLY deserves the love and recognition, as well as some that don't deserve it all, and when the less-deserving win, well... :\

But Lighthouse was such an achievement. That vintage gear in those shooting environments. And still it phenomal example of using images to convey feelings and story. The film wouldn't feel half as agonizing as it feels without how it is shot. The camera is like an extra tentacle or tiny cabin slowly grasping the characters tighter and tighter within the madness. Love it.

I was fortunate enough to see it in theaters, and I might go see it again on the big screen with a friend who hasn't seen it yet. It really is one of those that deserve to be seen on the big screen.

Got a couple hours sleep before it starts. Should make some coffee.. My final picks:

I don't know what it's been like in the previous years, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if this year a lot of people get a LOT of correct picks, and it also wouldn't surprise me if there's 2+ users tied for the win.

I think the most agonizing for me besides the Best Picture category, would be if Joker actually ends up getting makeup/hair. That was my last minute change (back to Bombshell which all the experts are predicting - yeah, I chickened out). I have such a gut feeling that the "bigger" film will win over the small, more deserving one, but like I said I chickened out.

I'm actually thinking that next year I'll include the short-films as well, but only as tie breakers!

Hair Love was absolutely adorable! Such a great short. Kitbull was very, very cute, but the story and core and the message in Hair Love is just... perfect. I saw the directors interview in TV few days back and I almost teared a little how he spoke about father-daughter relationships, masculine roles, the stigma that comes to hair styles in work environments and Kobe Bryant.

I’ll probably watch the first 15 minutes and then go to sleep and watch the rest tomorrow. I’m camp 1917.

LOVED Hair Love. Actually it was probably the best Shorts year in a long time overall. But yeah, usually they're tough to predict because theyre usually much harder to find and watch all of them than the features.

Man I've seen so many people legit predicting Parasite in Editing as well. For the record, any win that film gets which I didn't predict, I won't even be a little sad I got wrong.

Pleasantly surprised we got a proper opening act tbh. Now let's hope the presenters are entertaining enough to fill the empty host-spot.

Loved the opening act. The comedy bit... well a few good throws, mostly kinda bored all ready.

Opening numbers are always a bit hit and miss and tonight it was a miss for me.

That was sure-win. I like it always when crew gets extra mentions, this time it was for the stunt crew mostly (obviously), and I again loved it.

How evil of them to feature dancers with Midsommar attire but not nominate the film for anything...

Well, Florence Pugh IS nominated for another, but still... c'mon.

Wow, the finnish announcer completly ditched out Klaus as a plausible animation winner. She said it's just down to TS4 and HtTyD3.

Great for Brad. In contrast to Leonardo, he deserves the recognition for this film.

Yeah, there's been shouts the last years for Stunt Choreography category at the Oscar's and I feel like this will add more fuel to that fire. Overall he's given better speeches earlier in the season but y'know, this was good enough.
