Re: The Pinoy Hang Out Thread v. 3

nyoks! San ka nag Download? torrents? Try mo na lang sa mangaspot
Yeah, I tried it but I got impatient kasi. The downloads stop in the middle of it all and cannot resume. Starting again and again is futile. -_- I guess I'll go online reading... I really need a new manga. *which reminds me I have 400+ chapters to read from OP, so okay lang* But Vagabond's a different genre right?

nga pala, ang verdict samin e....
redefense
Aww.. But at least you still have a chance. Hang in there.

:wtf
About that one... yeah I'll be gone for about 10 days. :scry I'll miss raw day, new Edited Mangas, naruto special, MH, the pinoy hangout thread v3, and ALL OF YOU GUYS!
The beach isn't complete without MH.

Re: The Pinoy Hang Out Thread v. 3

oh man, speaking of defense i have to learn all the stuff im going to use this year... structural programming, network setup, and maybe master the slackware distro. where's KTS? hey man, what's your most recommended distro? my seminar teacher told us to learn slackware because it makes you all-around. id like to try the other cool distros like fedora and redhat
somebody summoned moi? moi has come to save the day....

ngaun ka lang mag-structured saka network?
re:distro
read this first....
http://www.linuxforums.org/reviews/overview_of_the_ten_major_linux_distributions.html

i reiterate this....
"People often ask "so which distribution is right for me?". The answer is very simple: "It depends!". It depends on your needs, it depends on your experience, on your philosophy or your tastes. It depends on a lot of things, and even if you found the one you preferred among these 10 majors distributions, don't forget that there are about 340 other distributions available, which could potentially suit your needs. If you're ready for the adventure, go and explore. Read reviews, try as many as you can and make your own mind. Otherwise, if you just need something good without the hassle, stick to these 10 major distributions."
then go here....
http://distrowatch.com/
i suggest keep to the top 20.....

as stated above, "It depends on your needs, it depends on your experience, on your philosophy or your tastes. It depends on a lot of things..."

imho....
-- slackware is like learning to swim with an anchor attatched to ur legs, you really have to swim, hehehe, high learning curve, for hard core peeps, very advanced...learn at your own risk... :p but definitely worth it!
-- fedora, balanced, standard, kaso sasakit ulo mo just to make it play mpeg4/mp3 files...
-- red hat, commercial... :notrust
-- -buntu, easiest learning curve, great community, not so feature packed...
-- mandriva, great bundle of eye-candy/features, easiest to config/install, many features work out of the box although buggy at some places,
-- debian, stable, great package manager, not so updated...

feeling filipino patriotic ka...? Bayanihan Linux (not a cosplay of filipino national heroes ha... :p :rofl)
feeling religious ka?
christian: Ubuntu Christian Edition
muslim: Ubuntu Muslim Edition
satanic: Ubuntu Satanic Edition KUbuntu Satanic Edition
btw, just plain ubuntu is agnostic/atheist :p

re: gantz
are the ones on #lurk good? (japflap/inane)? or are torrents better? for phase 1 muna....

Re: The Pinoy Hang Out Thread v. 3

wow man, im glad you said that, so it really depends! then im sticking with slackware. i started with it and im glad i started with the most in depth. i never get satisfied with high level all the time. plus slackware is the jack-of-all-trades my seminar mentor always say, that's why if it's your first time learning the kernel it must be slackware... well it does depend if the person learned computer with DOS or with GUI :D (i started with DOS, that was like 13 years ago i think. and oh, family computer :XD)

btw, i saw bayanihan linux! hehe tux looks cool with that farmer hat. it was just a stripped down version of uh... what was it again, i forgot

i already know basic structural and network setups... like we always say here in la salle, the reputation is good but the teaching sucks. it's like we're just schooling here for the diploma, we always do the REAL learning by ourselves (all our good teachers went out cause of major management issues). our batch's curriculum started out with 90% OOP, 10% structural. we just learned in depth networking this year, to which the teacher is the typical write-on-the-board and leave guy (we know a lot more than him, even put him to shame one time on deadlock algos). plus we were NEVER taught assembly, really. then the b**** just go "make an assembly program!" and me "wtf, i was waiting for chapter 1 and then we go to final project already?"

i read an article about that KTS, where the author hates the state of the computer science universities all over the world (especially america) where java is the main language taught. he disliked the fact that most programmers are made for business, not real in depth computer scientists. i agree, programmers should learn everything about the computer, how it handles resources etc. that's why the first language you should learn is assembly cause it's the closest language to the computer. "make a C bred programmer learn java in 6 months and he can learn more than a three-year-java-bred programmer" :XD. OOP is very efficient, but structural is important.

anyway i cant just whine all the time, i have to do this myself... cause im a senior now. and hey
trying to "get anyone, anywhere..."
it really works you know :kukuku

Re: The Pinoy Hang Out Thread v. 3

ei, bakashijinsan...sank yoh! I know it's hard to find a job this days...alam ko naman that we are living in a competitive world fighting for a place to survive! It so happened that the university I went to had suggested me to a business firm looking for fresh dynamic graduates. Wahhhh...astig talaga! Am I that qualified enough to meet their category...as in hindi siya yung path na tinatahak ko sa college.

You know what, this month we had a job fair in our school and it was so awesome experience in all. Having the chance to be in an interview with a call center agency and suprisingly, YOU PASSED! *on the other hand, only the first screening was passed* ^^; They suggested to go at their main office, wearing polo and pants! Wahhh...FORMAL ang dating, even to the point that I was referred by the cab driver..."SIR, where are you going?" Hehehe...professional na ba ako! I don't know if I will take the scond screening for me to be qualified as one...

Re: The Pinoy Hang Out Thread v. 3

@yonie
gudluck sa slackware, i hope di sumakit ulo mo sa pag-compile ng sources and their dependencies... :kkthumbs

------------------------------------------------------------

re: dos
yeah the bad old dos days! :kkthumbs
i still reminisce the day when i discovered the tricks on how to access the memory beyond 640K! i was stuck with just the three files needed for dos and i can't play some stupid game for "lack" of memory, but i had 4MB of ram then! (grabe malaki na un nuon!) un pala u need to have himem.sys and emm386.exe! the bad old days of editing config.sys and autoexec.bat files!

i think i was fifth or sixth grade then. yeah, i was "late" in my acquaintace with computers! pero mga 3 tao lang kami sa section na meron nun nung time na un! to think i was amazed when i saw scrolling text sa monitor for the first time! :o :grin
and imagine my reaction when i saw a colored monitor and windows running for the first time, live and up close! never had an inkling it was the "dark" side of the force! :rofl

----------------------------------------------------

@MG
gudluck sa grad! at sa real world!

----------------------------------------------------

re: grad
was just by my sis's grad.... as usual irritated na naman ako sa mga emcees na palaging nagsasabing "please rise"...

COME ON PLEASE! are we jesus christ to be able to "rise" off the ground? do we have levitative powers????? ordinary people are not even close to being like david blaine to "rise" above the ground!
people stand; magicians, mystics, paranormal creatures and concedingly religious figures rise/hover over the ground!

at sino ba nagpauso ng triumphal march from aida as a graduation march d2 sa pinas? sa context ata ng original opera na aida, that tune is played for the triumphant return of a conqueror, parading his captured ethiopian slaves! so ganun na ba ang mga graduates ngayon? parang mga slaves to be paraded off to be displayed for prospective employers?!?!?

almost everywhere abroad (well more precisely US and UK, imo) convocations, awarding ceremonies, graduations and even royal functions, pomp and circumstance by elgar ung pinapatugtog! sorry for the rant, nasanay lang ako na me "live band and string quartet" at hindi kaskas na recording ang pinatutugtog sa mga previous na graduations na nasaksihan ko... :grin
with the always poor economy at ung pagtitipid sa grad, we can't help it.... :sad

------------------------------

haba na naman post ko, naipon lang........ :smile-big

l4pb!
tahimik ata mga tao kahit raw day a!

Re: The Pinoy Hang Out Thread v. 3

Aw, I always thought you were older than me!

@KTT, haha sige let's both wish. Pero I advise against it though, if ever you really wanna push through with miniature thingies. I saw one work like that, a house exactly the same as a mansion in france, pero pinaliit. Nakakatawa, kasi the effect is just cartoony. Maybe "inspired by" nalang or "patterned from" or ganun. (baboysai<-- babbling)

re:grad
Nakakairita. Walang sense pinagsasabi nya talking about med school and her daughters that 12 year-olds (or the parents, for that matter) don't effing care about. aaaa.

re: irc

:kukuku

re: age
how come MH suddenly required b-days and country of origins? must be for "censor"/"tracking" reasons... :sad

re: scans
sipag mo ata yonie a!
wish someone would just PLEASE translate the remaining 4-5 VOLUMES of initial d raw remaining!
:smile-big kahit pakonti-konti lang during my free time, slowly but surely!
i knew i should have taken that japanese foreign language elective! :darn

re: code geass
omg, binitin pa nila ung last 2 eps ng cg! ASAR! in fairness, mas maganda ung storyline nya compared to gundams na napanood ko (wing, seed, seed destiny). too bad d ko pa napapanood ung mga classic gundams, ang dami nila e! and have to wait probably for next year for season 2!

mecha fans, try it! sunrise really did it this time, redeeming themselves from that gsd fiasco! imho, quarter of the way pa lang nung airing nila, they already stepped out of the gundam shadow. what i can say is, mas tragic pa kay raito ung naging story nung bida!

re: death note anime
:scry they're gonna finally do "it" probably by the next episode next week! might gonna be a tearjerker episode! ;)
but for the sake of plot development, we must move on, and welcome the new characters....

heya! Napadaan lang!

Grabe inaantok ako *yawn*

Kapag puyat peepz dahil sa pag-iinom, don't bloat yourself with food. Lalo kang aantukin. Lesson I just learned a while ago.

Re: The Pinoy Hang Out Thread v. 3

actually it was like this.

we had some beer late night yesterdy till dawn. maybe about a case divided to the four of us. then we went home to catch some sleep. but I can't sleep that well when I drink. So I only had at least an hour of sleep. I spent the remaining time getting myself sober. After being sober, I got off the bed (since I cant sleep anymore) and well, went back to my usual house business. My brother then invited me to eat up. We got bloated from a bowl of ramen and bottomless iced tea. then that's the time na inantok na ko. Pero nakatulog na ko ng 9 pm pa. Then I prepare and go to work at 10 pm.

That's why I'm groggy here.
