Discussion Pirate or Marine

You know after reading the "which df power would you want" thread I've been thinking how many of us would use our powers to become rich or uphold justice?
If you had the power of the Devil Fruit would you become a pirate to get everything you ever wanted or would you use your powers to stop those dirty pirates and why?

I voted for "neither", coz I would go as Bountyhunter. U r able to get rich and more important u can also get big name. Meanwhile u dont rly have a duty as marine nor u have to escape from the marine as a pirate. Garp is fucking frighting.. lol

Being a marine means you have to follow rules and orders, and sometimes you will be forced to commit heinous crimes or support or help dubious people. The only thing you have to follow as a pirate is your own set of morals. Of course, a little extra gold won't hurt :P

Pirate, for reazons allready estipulated, but i'll just say i like my freadom and a lil anarchy its never wrong xD also i dont care about extra money, as long as i have what i need or want, its cool (althoug that may be something expensive so i guess i need the money xD) but i dont know about chaseing OP, i meant im a lover not a fighter i don't see my self fighting every day, and not cuz im weak or something, im just not a violent guy so i guess i would be a pirate, but not a grand line pirate, just lay low and enjoy freedom

I agree freedom is the way to go but I'm not the adventurous danger loving type so I'll say neither and become a bounty hunter for the reasons stated in the second post. As long as you stick to only picking fights with and handing in villains, you won't get your own bounty (I think).. While that is basically what marines do, I don't like being ordered around or (if an officer) ordering too many around, or working with others at all for that matter. I'd sail around in an Ace's one man boat/Mihawk-ish fashion and be as free as a bird, but still constantly cashing in.

In our world are still pirates. But these pirates are evil, inhuman killers.
Their morals are just set to get money and live just to be in power.
For them life of others are nothing but trash, worthless scum.
To have power is the most powerful drug. This power gets abused most of the time and not rarely to play with or take peoples life.
Their arent pirates which are like strawhats in our world.
And i dont wanna be a pirate because i dont wanna get hunt and would beat their asses if i would have a DF.
Then they will learn the true morals.


Anyway if i had a DF i would be a bounty hunter to first get my money on the table,but in time the people start to see you as a real hero with a DF of course, because people would talk about such stuff. I only talk about a hunter with DF not without.
But as a strong hero with a DF power you have reputation and my reputation would be the good guy who takes care of people. So you not only be a bounty hunter but you become a human who safe others.
In this reputation and in my conscience i would have a responsabillity which would be to help where i can.
I couldnt bring it over my heart to let people get hurt.
The shitty side about being a bounty hunter with DF, of necessity a Hero,( no one cares about a bounty hunter without fruit isnt it right?!) is that you wont have enough time for yourself anymore.
So wheres the freedom now?
But i could handle this.
Those are my morals.

About Bounty hunters I always thought they were thought of as evil because thats how people saw Zoro remember how coby was afraid of him?

Me, it would totally be awesome to be in the Marine's. You'd have tons of friends and you could slowly climb the ranks to become like an RA. People would like you more and did I mention the eventual pwning of pirates?
