A few things that need to be said on the subject since I haven't posted here after the initial one. :p

One, we can't completely get rid of the Edited Manga ratings for the simple reason that for popular mangas with multiple scans, HQ Scans are the only ones that get shouted. Otherwise, we'd have too many scans in the shoutbox, and we've found that the longer the shoutbox gets, the less people actually pay attention to the stuff that goes in. So it wouldn't benefit anyone to have tons of scans being shouted.

Two, we have to keep the standard the same, otherwise the ratings get very unreliable. If one week because of HQ RAWs a scan is rated MQ, and then the same quality scan is rated HQ next week because of LQ RAWs, the quality rating makes no sense.

Three, our mods are busy enough as they are. If we have to have different standards for different mangas in the rating, then you're asking WAY too much of people who do this on their spare time for free.

Four, if you're adamant that your scan NOT be rated, you can ask that it not be rated and it won't. But you will forgo any chance of getting a mention in the shoutbox unless you're Editing a lesser known manga that no one else scans. And this ALSO means that you forgo the right to give your own scan a rating as well. If you give your scan a rating, no matter what you ask, it will be rated by one of our mods. If you give it no rating and ASK (please don't demand, it's impolite), then your scan will not be rated. ^^

Just to address the issue brought up about more complex manga and ratings. The examples that were made are so that even people new to Editing can see the differences in the ratings. The same principals apply to more complex manga. And the raters are experinced enough in rating them to see the differences. The raters also consult each other when they aren't sure on something.
