Not saying it completely same thing as of course his work in a different manner, but it just similar routes on how they both unlock creating fire for themselves.I say that about King because he never puts out his flames. It's not that he ignites himself for combat like Sanji; flames are always coming out of his back, and we actually have not seen him use them in a fight so far, so they seem to be something unique to him and unrelated to Diable Jambe.
About your question: Zoro created fire on his sword to defeat Ryuuma back at Thriller Bark.
Pretty sure that was aura and his body setting itself on fire than Zoro as he never use any fire moves before on many of his enemies. Even when Zoro strike him, it was more of a form of dragon than fiery move. Think that is misunderstanding on that given he never could make anything at scale of Luffy and Sanji in fire attacks.
