I already said it but weirdly I'm not hyped that much (and I know that I'm acting as a spoiled child)

To be honest, I was expecting Oda surpass all the previous confrontations of Sanji after the wait and how he treated the character during the last decade. But I'm already disapointed because compared to "The Hunter", the entrance is quite underwhelming.

It's still cool, but it is not equal or better than his CP9 entrance.

Moreover, Queen kind of lack of charisma. I hope that he's going to get a cool Awakened/Semi-Transformed Zoan Form at least.

However, if I'm still being honest, I know that I'm surely the problem here because I kind of expected the best after the worst treatment and this entrance is not the best for the moment so...

I still half expectat Oda to disappoint us one more time and make Sanji fight Queen with someone else, or even not make him fight Queen at all.
That's how badly the character's been treated lol
And the lack of hype might also be cause of Queen's general lack of charisma.

Queen, Kaido, King, and, maybe Jack, should be showing us the pinnacle of what a Zoan fruit can truly do, so I expect some good stuff from them. Especially if we're going by Marco's mastery of his shapeshifting ability. WCI was kind of the super demonstration for Paramecia Mastery, so it makes sense that this arc would show us a super demonstration for Zoan Mastery.

No he'll likely give Sanji the benefit of a doubt against Queen because Queen is not a Main arc villain like Doffy nor is he the 2nd strongest like Vergo or King. Dressrosa if Sanji pulled up on Trebol or Diamanté instead of Doflamingo im sure he would have had a great showing, like he's having here. Its just a matter of fighting people who are at your rank.

Queen doesn't have any narrative purpose beyond Sanji so this fight is set in stone honestly. If Oda's plan is to have Sanji do this without the raid suit I think he has no choice but to have someone else get involved in this fight with Sanji. Otherwise Base Sanji would be stronger than Wholecake island Gear 4 Luffy .

With the Raid Suit it makes sense since oda could just wank the raid suits abilities to justify sanji doing certain things.

Powerlevels are really not to be taken seriously after all that's happened.

Prince is right in that what matters is narrative representation. Luffy gets the captain? No matter how weak the rest of the strawhats were supposed to be, Sanji will smash the third strongest while Zoro will beat the first mate and achieve feats awkwardly similar to Luffy's and Sanji's at the same time.

In that sense, other characters like Nami are being more interesting during all of this war. Since Sanji's fight is more predictable, I hope that at least the battle choreography is spectacular.

Given that even Luffy couldn't one-shot dino zoans like Page One, I hope people won't start shitting on Sanji when he has a hard time taking down Queen for a long while.

How many people took a clean hit from Kaidos club on the roof and Got back up besides Luffy Who trained? And dont say law, Law was using antibacterial Curtain. Zoro took it but was out of commission afterwards and still is.... Killer just took lightning attacks, Kidd took a regular no haki punch from big mom, but so did queen and Capone.

Yeah, we're at a point where plot is pushing things along despite the clear power level discrepancy. While a fun confrontation, I have serious issues with the Yonkou/Supernova confrontation. Lot of it is...shenanigans to say the least.

Sanji's confrontation with Queen should work out a bit better as it will likely turn out to be a Luffy vs Katakuri situation. Sanji will be, understandably, outmatched at the start, and will grow throughout the fight until he surpasses Queen then and there.

Because Oda dropped the ball with everyone growing naturally since he mainly focused on Luffy's growth, this is the arc where he needs to catch everyone up and set the baseline for their strength as they enter the endgame.

this is something that i agree hasn't aged well.... everyone else had a good relationship with their islanders but not Sanji, he always looked down upon them. i think when it actually released, i was not very entertained by it but brushed it off like a gag... but its not improved upon at all and makes him look pretty bad..

Wait until Sanji uses his forbidden New kama kempo style vs queen and gets a flashback with his okama friends.

Btw it is obvious that Oda changed Sanji a lot post TS but we can't deny that Sanji was very smart pre TS leading to some of the most satisfying moments in one piece.

True... that's why i hated the RS.... his cheekyness and intelligence always put him ahead of certain scenarios.. i guess RS makes sense to explain CoO detection or something like that...
