the factory manager is in the same shitty working condition as the girl, and literally got killed because of that. the main villain of this situation are the lack of any osha regulation and the capitalism incentive cause the higher up to cut cost. both the alien and the girl are victims here (someone teach them some class consciousness please)

kind of annoying that some series go completely to the Digital Exclusive Plan immediately after ending, while others stay on the "Read once before it goes on the digital exclusive plan" Dont really understand what is making the difference in the way mangaplus runs...

From a purely "artistic"(?) perspective, yes, I found it less interesting than the other. The motivation (psychological device) of the hero is not new (bullying etc.), nor the gimmick. Deja vu.

A couple of surprises here, Empyreal Cabinet gets off to a great start above Shiba Inu rooms, looks like it'll be Plus's next actual hit. Monochrome Days does decent as expected, not amazing, but it'll be safe for a while. Smother Me also surprisingly has a not terrible debut. Everything else though is a flop. Since there was some confusion last time, these are the daily rankings, and as a rule of thumb, Plus usually doesn't tolerate anything below the 150s (unless views are good enough to compensate), Rugby is the absolute borderline of tolerable for them.
I really wasn't expecting Empyreal Cabinet to do this well. I thought the gap between releases was gonna hurt the sales. Kinda weird, it's an exorcist series, but I think I never saw Shark talking about it.
I remember vol.1 of Drunk Bullet debuting inside the top 100. Ouch!

But the Jp readers LOVE the art. I was surprised at how well it sold because a lot of Jp comments were so so... Something like "it's only the 5th chapter but I have the feeling I'm reading the 70th chapter". Characters are not well developped, their interactions are poor, their motivation not well written (IMHO), even if the settings are interesting. Too much dialogues in the early chapters, difficult words in Japanese, etc.
I was really surprised at the sells of the first volume, but it's then interesting to see that the readers buying the printed manga are not necessaraly the ones writing comments and making the most noise on the internet.

Eh, stuff like comments rarely matter for any series. What matters is that this series had strong views and online engagement from the start. It just so happened that unlike MAD or Takahashi this series happened to translate that to sales.
Wouldn’t write Matsumoto off just yet. Views are strong enough, so they might let this have a short, but natural ending like Shibatarian.

Chainsaw Man beats the allegations (kind of) and takes the second place for itself. Looks like Empyreal will be a bit under Shiba Inu Rooms, which also sees some backlog (so I think it'll grow this volume). Still a great result from both series. The new series in general hold better than expected, probably not enough to save Insect and especially not Terrapop, but Insect holding above Rugby, Tsubame, and Goze is commendable.
Empyreal Cabinet being this successful after so many J+ flops is surprising to me. The manga feels like we were suddenly dropped into chapter 100 and we're just supposed to roll with it. And it doesn't help that there are a million anonymous characters that we're supposed to keep up with.
For now, the aliens are just normal "people", as boring and normal as humans are. The 2 MC just really want scapegoats to take revenge on, that's all. If there is a twist like "in fact, aliens are real humans but MC see them only with a weird face" like in odd taxi, then it would be possible because aliens don't seem aliens at all...
The accident is the same kind of those happening recently with foreigners, the author is really giving the stick to sensitive readers to get beaten. Now, we need aliens tourists taking too much place in public transports and aliens scrappers who get all the anime goods without waiting in line like there was recently for 999level.
All reminds "foreigners' behavior that Japanese are sick of", it's too much to not be a satyre. I think it's a satyre. I don't take it for me. Hope that some extreme Japanese don't imitate the MCs because there are some weird people who think that it's ok to imitate jump MCs.
They see them from satelite but they don't arrest them? Weird... Other illogical things.

BTW, I recommend you a French movie called "some like it rare" where a bucher and his spouse turn vegans into meat and sell them to their customers who LOVE it. It was a good one, for a French movie.
Even in Japan the conspiration theories are getting stronger... I don't understand the psychological mechanism to it yet, I need to study it. Might use it someday.
