Ankhseram is said to be the god of life and death so here is my theory:
What if Ankhseram is actually not a god at all in the literal sense of the word, but the original magic itself. What if the original magic was actually what created all life in the FT universe.
By attempting to resurrect Natsu Zeref must have gotten close to the original magic.
And Mavis used Law which is a black art of immense power, which controlls death.
So my theory is that Ankhseram might be the original magic. A magic that creates life and defines death.
So Zeref and Mavis tapped into the original magic gaining the power of life(immortality) and the power of death(the black aura they emit), but since they haven't really gotten quite at the origin yet they have no control over it. What would support this is that Zeref actually gained his curse of contradictions before he even managed to resurrect Natsu, because he had already gotten too close to the origins of magic by performing all his experiments.
Just another thought but this might also be the reason why Zeref took the trouble to kill Hades, because he too was close to gaining the curse of contradictions because of all the experiments he did to bring back Mavis. To me it looks that Hades was going down the same path Zeref walked on, but he was just a few stepts behind.
Also Fairy Law seems like a weaker toned down version of Law, so we might assume that the stronger ones magic gets the closer they get to the original magic. So probably every magic in the world perfected to the peak is a path to the original magic, so Acnologia might be cursed too since he took dragon slayer magic to a really high stage. He cast a spell that reaped the soul of every dragon in existence from their bodies. This seems awfully close to something that would approach the original magic since it decides the life and death of an entire race.

Hades had already stopped experimenting on Mavis when Zeref killed him.

I thought Law was renamed as Fairy Law.

I like the idea of Acno being cursed.

Also I never noticed the fact Zeref was cursed before he actually did anything. He was cursed for writing some theories. However, he may have already been conducting experiments on animals and such which require lesser amount of magic.

Hiro said in the interview that he will not use Ankhseram again any more in the plot.So i doubt Ankhseram will again feature in the main plot.

I wouldn't be so sure about that.

Hiro tends to change the plot of a lot so there's a chance
he might still bring Ankhseram to the story plot as a villain.

Remember, FT was originally going to end after the end of the Battle
of Fairy Tail arc but he didn't cuz the series was so popular.

Also, Hiro didn't know that Mavis was a girl name when he first wrote it
so a lot of things changed due to that.

We just have to wait and see.

I doubt that.When Hiro said this publically he will 99.99% avoid this route.The things you mentioned before was never said by Hiro publically at first.

let me give you a few clues:
- it begins with N and ends with u
- very big essay that happens 90% of time in this manga/anime
- one catchphrase

Ankhseram shouldn't appear because one person will become a God Slayer and we certainly don't need that BS.

Yeah this is the worst case scenario but Kishi made Kaguya come out the fucking ass with literally no type of foreshadowing until like the last 50-100 some chapters in Naruto. Ankhseram has been mentioned repeatedly since Zeref's debut in the early 200's. Hiro did say that in that France's interview but who knows, if some how Zeref's curse is broken he could be extracted from him or make his appearance as an actual being, leading for him to be killed. I wouldn't have a problem with that at all. But for now it's Acno/Zeref. I think Acno could get killed in this arc cause this is currently the DFK which would lead it to be Zeref being the final one.

It would be a missed opportunity if Hiro Mashima didn't show Ankhseram in some way.

He doesn't need to be a final villain or take part in a fight but I'd at least like to see him in some form.

That's just my opinion though.

If he ever appears he should be like Truth in FMA.Completely detached from human activities.

Though i doubt he will ever appear.
