It's against Norwich though. :P
Doesn't matter.... the fact that we are finishing chances now is a lot better. No one can deny had we finish our chances in other matches we wouldn't be in our position. It's not like we didn't create chances, we just didn't finish them. If we can continue finishing our chances we gonna be a force to reckon with. :D

Norwish-Liverpool 2-5, Liverpool shows his true face!
City woke up tardily but win 1-2 versus Fulham
Bayern reinforces his leadership in Bundesliga, Who can stop this team this season?
And Valence won, it was long however!

The biggest news of the day, however, is AVB's biggest win as a manager in the EPL, winning 3-2 at Old Trafford.

It's a shame I won't get to see Dortmund vs City, but I think it'll be a cracker.

Yeah, I was a bit surprised Porto won, but it proves that, like always, you can't underestimate them in the CL.

Dortmund, like Schalke, had horrendous finishing. Both teams could've put up a half dozen, but neither did. The penalty was really, really harsh, but the old adage is that you'll pay for profligacy in front of goal, and Dortmund ended up doing that.

Schalke was up a man and perhaps could've had 8-10 goals, but they allowed a silly equalizer at the death, so instead of a massive win, they got a home draw.

Funny you said that you can't underestimate teams in Cl... I was talking to a friend at the pub while watching the City game and I said that City aren't ready for CL football. In fact, I said this since last season when they didn't play very well in Cl. They have a lot of talent, there's no doubting that. But they lack the hunger and passion to go all out and win. You can see by their reactions and their faces that they don't enjoy themselves most of the time...with the exception of a few players. Dortmund doesn't have a good record in Europe, but today they played to win... they messed up their chances, but they showed that they want to win. City not so much.

Now, to the Juventus game that was totally an eye sore for Juve fans. They really looked nothing like the Juventus team that is so dominant in the midfield with the likes of Vidal and Pirlo. They looked like they were scared and Shaktar took full advantage of that. I hope they can win their next game and continue to win. Really want them to make it to the semis at least.. or even win it all :D

You can never underestimate anyone, barring the complete noobs like FCN (and even they put up a good fight against Chelsea on Tuesday), such as how APOEL made it to the QFs last year. We saw the same issues in the CL with City last year and it's continuing. City should be down six points to both Madrid and Dortmund, but Dortmund screwed up some chances and ended up with a draw because of a bs home penalty decision.

While people claim that Dortmund doesn't have a good record in European competition, they beat the Zidane-led Juventus side in the 96-97 CL Final 3-1. Paul Lambert, that lamer who managed Norwich and now manages Villa, completely shut down Zidane in that match. :derp

While I know a lot of people look down on the Bundesliga, they are the third highest rated league in Europe, having pipped knocked Italy out of the third spot last year, so now the Bundesliga gets four CL spots, not Italy. Reus, Dortmund's goal scorer tonight, is the player I have rated the highest out of all young players. I think he's more of a threat than Hazard, for example. In the end, I'm not sure if Reus will end up being better than Hazard, but I'm just saying don't sleep on Reus. A lot of the English commentators tend to look down on the Bundesliga and players who don't play for traditionally big teams or aren't linked to traditionally big teams, and I think that that leads to a lot of people being unaware of the talent that exists elsewhere.

Chelsea utterly shut down Juve's midfield, but two poor moments, including that Mikel pass, gifted Juve two soft goals, so nothing's changed. I do think Juve will probably qualify second out of the group, but Shakhtar may still pip them for it.

Maybe you were right Kakashi :p ... i just watched the highlights of City vs Dortmund and it seemed it was a really interesting game!

But back to what is important, FC Porto actually managed to win :tem
We were superior and also created a lot more chances then PSG, so i think the result was fair. Moutinho once again imo being the best player of the game, i am pretty interested in knowing which club is going to hire him. James Rodriguez, which is undoubtedly, the "star" of our team, specially since Hulk was transferred to Zenit, score a goal that imo was just beautiful!
On the other hand, Ibra was so close of scoring an amazing goal, seriously .... it would be such a beautiful goal! And weird what happened with Lavezzi ...

About Dortmund vs City, it seems Dortmund deserved to win. Hart once again doing an amazing game ... i don't think Mancini is the right coach to City.
Anyway i am going to hope Dortmund manages to get through the groups phase along with Real Madrid, which seems to be really possible, since even though City managed to get a draw (from a penalty, i would much likely have not marked), it was a game at City's place, so it actually ended being a "good" result.

Now, all of what i just said, this is going to be much likely really biased. Ronaldo once again doing an Hat-trick. I am not completely sure, but i think w/e Messi, Ronaldo or Iniesta do at this point won't matter for the golden ball, but seriously, while it's a shame a player like Iniesta not ever receiving a trophy like this, just like Xavi!, i really think Ronaldo deserves to win this year. I think he has been really important at Real Madrid and he is one of the major reasons why Barcelona "dominion" has been questioned. I think there wouldn't be any doubts if he had actually managed to win The CL or/and the Euro 2012, but he had a real bad year i would say ... being eliminated at the semi finals, at the penalties at both competitions, was kinda ... bad D:
His third goal was a typical Messi's goal xD

They downplay bundisliga because it is more competitive than EPL or La Liga in terms of how many teams actually have a shot at the title.English people always claim the EPL is the most competitive and best league which is simply not true...history can back that up with how many english teams actually won CL. It wasn't always like that though, because Bayern used to always win it, but now there are more than 3 teams who challenge for the title. While in EPL and Liga, its always down to two teams.

That doesn't actually make the Bundesliga a league that should be looked down on though. It just meant that only Bayern spent cash in the past, but now other teams do as well. Schalke made it to the CL SFs a few years ago. Bayern's been in the final two of the last three years, although they have lost both finals. When only two teams challenge for the league title, that actually makes the league less competitive because there's a gulf between two teams and the rest. Until City won last year, Chelsea had United had combined for the previous seven or eight titles. In La Liga, Valencia won in like 01-02, but only Barca and Madrid have won since then.

The Bundesliga is actually more fun and more competitive than the EPL and La Liga, although EPL and La Liga teams are far more likely to win the CL.

That's what I'm saying. Commentators are only downlplaying Bundesliga because they are biased toward EPL and La Liga. Can name at least 2 leagues that is more competitive than both EPL and La Liga, but those leagues aren't well known and as such, doesn't get notice. Leagues like J-league are so competitive that you can never know who is gonna win. Of course the quality of the players and the league is a huge difference, but my point is most people only watch EPL and La Liga. That why you will always hear things like "EPL is the best league in the world!" which imo, is not true at all. It's really no surprise English commentators are biased when it comes to teams like Chelsea and Manchester Utd and even Barca and Madrid.

I think this season's CL will have a surprise winner and if it does, it will quickly be labelled one of the worst CL in history.

Well, all of the commentators who are biased in favor of Chelsea, United, Barca, and Madrid do have at least one large point. Those are the four most decorated teams in the last decade, even if Madrid doesn't have a CL title during that span.

I think Dortmund could potentially beat any of the aforementioned sides, although I don't think it'll happen in some clutch moments. They could've easily finished off City, but couldn't find the requisite clinical finishing.

My preseason CL pick was Madrid beating Bayern in the final. I think Bayern probably deserve to win after putting in all of the effort and they're a really solid team, but they struggle away from home (look at the away loss to Basel last year, the away loss to BATE Borisov on Tuesday, and their away form the last two domestic seasons), so it probably won't happen for them. Bayern had been so strong at the Allianz Arena last season, but that was a crushing defeat in the CL Final.

They are biased towards those two leagues because they are the most lucrative, the most watched and - subjectively - the highest standard of quality. But anyway the commentators in Britain are notorious for not knowing anything about anything that happens abroad though, so they really should be taken with a pinch of salt (or my preference, the mute button).

I think this season's CL will have a surprise winner and if it does, it will quickly be labelled one of the worst CL in history.
The worst CL will always be 04. (Sorry jorped, but I still havent gotten over that Chelsea match)

So Fifa has decided to punish us with more international football next week. Any particular games anyone is looking forward too?
