Both Valdez and Reina have the same problems. Even though they can make some amazing match winning saves... they seem to like to fuck up 6 or 7 times a season

Last season, a really poor play by Valdes cost Barca in the CL SF. Ramires was breaking and there was no one supporting him and someone probably would've come over to help defend, but Valdes just started running out and let Ramires easily chip him for the goal that turned out to be tie-winning goal. Torres got the sealing goal, late on, but that mistake by Valdes cost Barca the tie.

I'm not to worried about the game today...we played shit, the second goal shouldn't have been allowed and Ribery should have seen red... but we still did not play well at all. So hopefully we'll turn it around in Turin even if we don't have Vidal and Lich

Unfair penalty, goldb summarized it pretty much.
Beckham should have been a bench during the whole game, apart from doing good free-kicks or corner, he's not fit ''physically'' and doesnt run fast and he got a yellow card. Ancelotti should have put Verrati instead way before the 2nd half. Gameiro-Verrati-Menez brought some momentum in the PSG's side and they became as good as the beggining of the game, and finally managed to score seconds before the end of the game.

Messi might miss next game, Mascherano will miss it for sure. I believe the next game could go either way and I hope Pastore/Lavezzi will bring their A-Game. Ibrahimovic played well but he fucked up many times during the 2nd half, but he was really good at the beggining of the first half.

I don't get why people are this mean to Valdes, he saved many shots at the beggining. It would have been over for Barca if he didnt, remember the free kick Ibra almost got in. I feel like Valdes couldnt stop the 2 goals of PSG because he couldn't, the first goal was basically a rebound that Ibra just scored (almost the same as an empty net) and the second goal was way too strong but he still touched it. Barcelona fans have a tendency to blame all the losses on Valdes and all the wins on Messi. And I bet that if Messi misses the next game everyone is gonna be like PSG won because we had Valdes and Messi wasn't here... Messi is great but he's that great because his teammates gives such good passes and creates amazing plays that it completes Messi.

Lucas was amazing! And if Ancellotti prepares PSG and doesnt let Beckham play, PSG will win even if its at Camp Nou!

Oh and Bayern was too superior for Juventus, Bayern is going to pass and win the next game as well.

I was watching ESPN with my dad (who almost got to play in D1 as a GK) and we both agreed that there was almost no way that he could go back in time, it wasn't his fault.

The thing is that Valdes was right there. If he had the ability to get his hand back, he should've saved it. The fact is, Hardy, that we expect that a top class keeper would've saved that. Valdes isn't a top class keeper and didn't save it.

I've played as a keeper before. It's really hard to get back to a ball if you're wrong footed by a deflection, but that was not an unsaveable ball.

I've played as a goalkeeper as well and i think what happened is that Valdes reacted too late and therefore had no time to jump toward the ball, he tried to deflect/stop the ball with one hand but in the position he was in, it was too hard to do so he just managed to tip it off. It's easy to believe that a ''pro goalkeeper'' should be able to save that but i do think the shot could have gone anywhere and some times luck or instinct plays a huge role in a save. But with Matuidi's stance and the strenght in his shot, it's very hard to predict where it's gonna go!

But like usual everyone's gonna blame Valdes, it's easier that way. Look at the positionning, Ibrahimovic was marked by one player only, Matuidi was free and 4 were on the guy who passed the ball to ibrahimovic, gameiro was free as well. If valdes had stopped the ball it would have bounced and by the time he would manage to catch the ball, gameiro would have scored, look how close gameiro was from valdes without any defender on him.

The defense made a huge mistake too, look at the beggining of the video where almost 4 players are trying to take the ball from Jallet and then they all rushed back when Jallet passed it to Ibra but it was too late, PSG had 4 players against 3 and a good opportunity to score and it's what they did.

Valdes' placing was all wrong. However, he did have three defenders screening his vision. I guess he was expecting some sort of deflection because of it, I don't know.

How is his placing wrong and how are his reflexes bad? I want to see any of you jumping that fast after someone shoots. The ball got deflected when he was in mid air, he did his best and barely touched it with his fingers. Jeez, it's not a fail...

That's what the video says. I didn't say it was an easy save or anything, but he just guessed wrong.
