I love it! Predictably.

But I am a person who much prefers turn based combat to the real time pause based. I like both but the real time pause based stuff always gives you so much less control with the strategy and movement.

Early access is fine to me given how Larian works. They've always refined thier games based on feedback. So I feel like for them it really makes sense to do it that way.

I've read in some places that it might have two combat modes, like the previous games and then turn-based like DOS. Thought that seemed to be speculation based on some leaked screenshots.

I was hoping WotC would have invested more into this game given Larian's track record so such a thing wouldn't be necessary. It's true that if you were to trust in a company doing EA that Larian would be among the safest bets though.

Well Larian has often said that they felt that the kickstarter process was invaluable for the quality level of Divinity 1&2. Because there were things they didn't realize people wanted until they got builds out there. This could be a similar thing.

And another combat mode would make sense. It's the approach Owlcat games is taking with Pathfinder now with the success of the turnbased mod for Kingmaker. Personally, that's just not something I'd be too interested in. But if enough people want it Larian is the sort of company to try and make it happen.

This plus the news about Archetype Entertainment sort of puts Wizards of The Coast on the map for videogames. Archetype has basically recruited all the classic Bioware staff who worked on actual RPGs as they abandoned ship when EA steered the studio into the rocks. So that should be pretty interesting.

I get that it looks awesome - but I dunno what to think of the teleporting dragon/nautiloid battle
Other than that, the game looks exactly how I imagined - and that is pretty much what I wanted

I do hope that it isn't overly punishing for players who want to avoid group play - just using a single/two characters - but I'll still play if I am required to use larger parties.

Also, although I imagine it will be, I do hope it enables multiplayer - that was the single best thing about Divinity OS2 <- watching whole video, really does help

- also, that demonstration could not have gone more perfectly
The fact that the developers/demonstrators actually could die suggested it was a proper play-through, rather than the usual overly scripted 'playthrough' that most companies offer during these game reveal events

Ah, so that's where Drew Karpyshyn works now. Never put two and two together. Well, it seems promising.

Anyone here a fan of dragon quest series? I've literally finished journey of the cursed king for the first time recently and fell in love with it. Currently thinking of getting the same game on nintendo 3ds, since I've read it has a lot of new content.

Also will order dragon quest monster joker since i've loved monster arena. Is it worth getting?

In 14 days, you will be able to download [and more importantly keep] one of the best total war games, using Steam.
For those of you who don't have Shogun 2 - and those who have not played a Total War game - this is an excellent pickup.

It also has my favourite clan-based multiplayer campaign system - something I really, really, wish that they'd put into Warhammer Total War...

Remember when we were even slightly worried about all the good games getting delayed? :XD

There are so many so games I want to play right now that it's almost hilarious. FF7 Remake which everybody I know tells me turned out incredibly well, thrilled to be wrong about that one. Persona 5 Royal. X-Com Chimera which came out of nowhere. And I guess Doom which people seemed to like, not my jam though. The winner for me has been Mount and Blade: Bannerlord. Which is fantastic.

Then I was also messing around in an older game called Space Engineers. Which is a gloriously complicated spaceship building game.

What's everybody else been playing with in their spare quarantine time?

Doom Eternal was pretty enjoyable. I don't really understand the criticism leveled at it from people who think it was a step backward from Doom 2016.

For some reason I'm playing No Man's Sky again with friends. It's pretty relaxing given the circumstances. I also have RE3 ready to go but have been avoiding it as I heard it's barely a game and I don't really feel like being stressed out AND disappointed right now.

It's an amazing game
another amazing game worth picking up on the cheap is this one

the Homeworld remastered series also had a rather sizeable discount recently, if I recall...

... why, oh why, can't good games that I don't already own appear with a sizeable discount?!?
Any time it's a game I want to buy it always is like 10% discount, max
:gwah

Oh, my bad haha. I admit I didn't check the link because I had heard the news before.

Currently playing whatever a psp emulator can run, because that way I can lazily play in bed without having to boot many things (plus the comfortof save stating when you have to stop asap to check on your baby). I can only play like one thing at the time right now cause otw I just drop everything lol.

That said, I will prolly play Muramasa for the wii, then persona 3 portable, then FINALLY finish paper mario and its sequel.

Not into animal crossing, don't wanna do chores when I'm already tired of them irl lol.

People keep praising ff tactics and @Farfalla won't shut up about it even if she never finished it, so maybe it is time to commit to it... But it's so boring :crying

Had to look up Muramasa - but am getting some real old-school 2d platformer vibes from the clips on YouTube.
What little I saw looks good

I remember Paper Mario from the 64 - is it the same game, just re-released?

Oh it is the one for the 64, sorry for not being clear. Very fun rpg where you don't just sit there and you can even avoid encounters if you wanna... Basically all I hate in traditional rpgs (looking at you ff7... One day I'm gonna cheat my way through you).

After that there's the sequel for the GameCube, tested it on dolphin and it ran pretty smoothly.

Then don't play it >.>
But apparently I'm missing out ;-;
