Personally, I find storm 4 to be a bit underwhelming. I feel as though there is still a massive piece of a very complex puzzle that still has yet to be put in its rightful place.

With the most recent and final installment of the storm games, only a few new characters were added. And some of those characters that were put in the game are less relevant than more important characters that weren't added, but should have definitely been put in the final game. And even though the game play and graphics seem to have improved a bit, the story and online modes are lacking in comparison to previous titles. At this point I'm still debating whether I should even get them game or not, seeing as I have owned every storm game prior to this one.
My waiting is over. Now I can agree with and understand what you meant. On one side I am satisfied, but on the other side I am disappointed. Especially for Tobirama. As his fan, I think there are still some moves that should be added into his moveset. They should have added those, such as more of moves with teleport and kagebunshin. He invented those jutsu after all.

That's true, a lot fans were very disappointed to see that their favorite hokage didn't get a new moveset that they rightfully deserved. And also many other things like very underwhelming jutsus and movesets for the new characters. The game was delayed for a while, and yet I'm beginning to wonder why, was it even worth it? Should they have delayed the game longer?

Really, I think cc2 should take all the time in the world to do what they need to get done, even though the game was delayed, it still felt a bit rushed and almost, incomplete? I understand that the wait was difficult for most of the die hard Storm fans, but it didn't exactly live up to my expectations as far as I can tell. I'm assuming cc2 really doesn't put much thought into these games, which is very unfortunate for all of us who actually enjoyed the Storm games. So many characters that could have still been added. So many ultimates jutsus that could've have been improved, along with a few other things. But I guess I shouldn't complain too much, since in the end, I can still say that this game is definitely a step up from Revolution.

But how do you feel about the new tweaks and "improvements" that they added in this game? Such as the new leader switch mechanic, and getting rid of those horrible battle types from Revolution?

My comment on that switch. I find that not bad idea, even arguably great one. So if we have three fav chars, we can choose all of them and play in a vs battle. I also like the idea of battle types having been combined in one match, so we can perform team ultimate jutsu, true awakening and drive type at the same time, unlike Revolution.

There are also new features like armor break and two rounds. I think armor break is not bad idea. As for two rounds, I personally think it's very good because sometimes I still didn't feel satisfied after winning one round. So this new feature suits for those who can't easily get satisfied in one round like me haha. How about you?

I feel that there are times when the new leader switch mechanic can be a little broken and abused at times, but I guess it doesn't really make a difference since the instant awakening feature we had before was a little annoying and broken at times as well. But personally, I think I prefer the leader switching over the instant awakenings, just because it's a very unique concept. Same with the new round system, which adds a more enjoyable experience, and greater satisfaction with a win. I also enjoy the armor breaks as well, I just wish everyone could have had a drastic change in appearance rather than just some of the characters.

But don't even get me started on the dlc. Most of the content in these dlc packs are just rehashed things many of us have already bought in the previous games. Which is really annoying, and not even worth buying a second time in my opinion. The only reason I would maybe get them is for the new content, such as Hokage Naruto, adult Sasuke, and the Sound 4, even though I think they should've been playable from the get-go.

Seems like the internet is overreacting honestly. I think Nintendo has a pretty good track record with peripherals, especially when it comes to offering alternatives.

Nintendo has succeeded with some crazy ideas(the Wii and the 3DS) and failed with some too (Virtual Boy and Wii U) so it could go either way. If that really is the NX or a part of the NX I'll want to hear Nintendo's sales pitch on it before I react one way or the other.

Don't love the look of it but I at least want to know what it does first.

It kinda looks like a compromise between a touchscreen and a controller. I don't mind peripherals and whatnot when it comes to nintendo but I do think they should focus more on normal gaming so to speak. As in, proper controllers. The wii didn't have quite that but it worked for their target market. As far as I can tell the actual hardcore gamer market so to speak is conservative, as in it will be unwilling to accept a new type of controller (even the PS4 and XB1 controllers are similar). So if nintendo wants to appeal to that segment they will have to give them what they want, a powerful machine and a normal controller. On the other hand the segment where they succeeded with the wii was families and whatnot. They should just make a transformer controller that switches between a traditional controller and a wii controller =_=.

The innovation is what makes Nintendo what it is. If they tried to directly compete with Sony and Microsoft with how they do things, they would probably lose in almost every market. This sort of trend has been going on since the N64 days.

Well, that is true and innovation is a good thing for the most part, when you do it right. Otherwise you get a WiiU. Which while innovative, was pretty much disliked since it was revealed (IIRC it's unveiling caused nintendo stocks to go down). To me it kinda seems like nintendo took something that worked and could be improved, the wii controller, and just set it aside. I mean, their new console was using years old hardware... And even now, that new controller.. It looks awesome and all but how do you even grab that? It does not look practical.

Well, I don't see it as getting it right or wrong necessarily. It's just something they always try to do with each generation. It started with analog sticks, then moved to motion controls, etc. Nintendo has been first on a lot of these things. The one place where I'd say they were shortsighted is them adopting online play rather late. But other than that, they were ahead of Sony and Microsoft when it came to "new" stuff.

And yeah the controller looks weird, but like Jammin said, I'd rather see more of it before making any sort of judgment.

Well, it is about getting it right or wrong. In their industry an innovation that does not sell sets them back years so to speak. The hit they took from the wii U can take them quite some time to recover from... And it was shortsighted in a number of ways. They claimed to want to build strong third party support but failed to appeal at them. They released some excellent games but overall the console has been rather lackluster... To be honest my main frustration here is the concept of screens on controllers. In theory it sounds good but actually doing it doesn't really add much to the game itself. If anything the second screen is a distraction... Unless you are using the wii u controller to play the game itself while the other player gets to play using the TV.

I definitely won't be. This month is just too packed with games.

There's Uncharted. And Fallout 4's big Far Harbor expansion coming next week. If the Witcher 3 expansion Blood and Wine releases on the 30th like it's rumored to that's going to make this a very dense month of gaming goodness.

I have the HD remake of Uncharted series, and I have to say the gameplay wasn't really engaging enough for me (or maybe because gameplay isn't what makes Uncharted series became popular to begin with). Maybe one day I'd buy Uncharted 4 just for the sake of completing the entire franchise, but definitely not in the near future. While I had a fun time playing FO4, I'm also not too invested in the game to buy the DLC, especially considering the price is currently a tad beyond my budget. I would definitely play the Witcher 3 DLC, though.

So yeah, this month isn't filled with enough gaming goodness for me personally, thus there's still a room for Overwatch after I finish Bravely Second :p

Fair enough. I have the season passes for both Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 so I'm not really affected by the price at this point.

I love Uncharted so I'm pretty excited to play 4. Also coming out this month are Doom, Homefront, and Total Warhammer. So there is a lot this month that I want to at least check out.

Here's the demo they showed of FFXV.

Looked kind of bad to me but I'm not exactly the target audience. The scale was neat and the music seemed pretty good but the camera was pretty wonky and the combat didn't really look good to me either. I guess I can understand the rational of wanting to show off a spectacle like a boss fight but it also looked like that is not going to be one of the things the game makes particularly fun.

Thought Microsoft had a pretty great conference overall. They showed off a lot of games in short amount of time which was good. The weakest stuff seemed like the Scalebound demo, the Sea of Thieves thing which was just weird, and the Final Fantasy demo.

The best thing was by far the japanese guy in the kimono and sunglasses coming out for Tekken. I don't know who he was or why he was there but he's the F'n man!
