That's a tough break. Now you know why I suggested you glance at a guide. It's not intuitive at all.

There is a logic to it but you can't really see until AFTER you've beaten it. Which is kind of a dick move.

You can't do anything to undermine Ceri's confidence or unsettle her state of mind. Restrict or protect her when it seems like she's doing something impulsive or something that seems foolish and at the end she won't be confident enough to get things done and survive.

Like you have to let her go get her revenge. You have to help her wreck that elf douche's study. Have to give her your blessing when she decides to stop the white frost. And other stuff like that.

That's the trick to the story of Witcher 3. It's not really about Geralt so much as it is Ceri. She's the "Chosen One". Your just a guy following along.

Ah, TW3. I recently got mysef the GOTY Edition and it's easily one of the better open world fantasy games I've played.
I agree that a lot of the optional choices in Geralt's interaction with Ciri is a bit pointless, because we know she's going to do what she wants anyway.

While we're on the topic, what's your favourite expansion and why?

Ah, TW3. I recently got mysef the GOTY Edition and it's easily one of the better open world fantasy games I've played.
I agree that a lot of the optional choices in Geralt's interaction with Ciri is a bit pointless, because we know she's going to do what she wants anyway.

To be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of either of the expansions. If I had to pick one I'd go with Blood and Wine just because of the scale of it.

I had that ending too, though the only woman I romanced was Krista I think, so Geralt ends up moving north with Ciri.

I got the bit about the story being about her towards the end.... Still, it is a bit of a dick move. I aimed for "being a dad" to her and doing what she wanted. I never noticed until her flashbacks started that she always had a "you're killing me, dad" face until right before end. I did do the revenge, the white frost bit and the wrecking part. It was at the training parts that I failed apparently... On the upside, I got to kill the crone which is not too bad. Might actually be doing the plus game since I get to keep my equipment but I am still not sure.

I felt that way too at first, but by the finale, I'd sort of resigned myself to the fact that the whole game is only seen through the eyes of a bystanders, not the focal character who is Ciri herself.

Ah that's rough, Well if your playing it on pc you could always do what I do when a game F's me like that.

Edit the plot flags in the save. Because I will not be denied a happy ending.

Am pretty conflicted about this. I mean, I love the setting, but am not really a fan of how Telltale make games - really need something to cure my VtM:Bloodlines itch.

Maybe I should wait till this one comes out instead...

Troika Games made bloodlines - unless that was a typo and you have actually played the Telltames game?

Aye, me also - shame though.
With Telltale games, though, you can be pretty sure what you will get - exactly the same as all of their other games, just with a change of scenery.

Yeah Telltale seem to follow a really basic template for all of their games. They just get reskins....

Well, checking the wikia was the first thing I thought of. But.... it doesn't seem right. In the witcher 3 her father is emperor ehmyr as far as I can tell. So who the hell are duni and paveta? I guess that relates to the books....

In one of the chapters, Geralt helped the emperor and in return, he asked for "gives me that which you already have but do not know" aka Ciri. Of course, the emperor and his wife (Paveta) didn't know that she was pregnant until afterward.

Duni is the emperor's alias. In another novel, Paveta discovered that her emperor only married her because he wanted her daughter, who was prophesized to be a "Child of Destiny". In other words, he wanted to have sex with his daughter. Paveta confronted her husband about it but drowned while the "Duni" faked his death and resumed his true identity.

Yeppers. He was cursed by someone who took over his empire until he was cured. IIRC, his curse is based on fairytale with a similar scenario.

VtM: Bloodlines could have been great. I really think it had potential. But Telltale messed it up so badly that I was just left with a... void.
Another WoD game sounds cool, but frankly, I'm not getting my hopes up until I see what we're in for.

I'm just happy to see people discussing Bloodlines. Even as flawed as it was it still managed to be one of the more fun Vampire games out there.

One of my dreams is to see a big RPG dev like Bethesda take on that kind of game.
