Just a PSA for anyone interested in watching some of the press conferences this weekend.

Bethesda definitely wins on style. Substance wise though I'd probably give it to Microsoft still.Bethesda won E3 already.... again. Prey Mooncrash already being released, Wolfenstein II DLC coming. Rage 2, sequel to DOOM. It was assumed that they were working on ES6 already, but teasing it along with Starfield. Wew.
Was never really a Fallout fan, but the new game looks interesting too.Though I understand people upset thinking it was a standard Fallout game.--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---
Microsoft had a larger quantity and a lot of good stuff, but that was an XBOX conference first and foremost to me. And I don't personally care about their console, as the majority of it will be on PC anyways and a lot of it on PS4 as well. Cyberpunk 2077, Metro Exodus, and Dying Light 2 are incredible looking and at the top of the list for me, but they were probably shown there because Microsoft paid them more than Sony. Not because they had anything to do with those games, so it feels weird to give them much credit for them. Same with Sekiro and the new Tomb Raider. Everything else they showed isn't even slated to be released this year, save for Forza, maybe? The news of them acquiring Ninja Theory, Undead Labs, and Compulsion Games is cool I guess... but who knows what will come of that yet.Bethesda definitely wins on style. I am a huge Fallout fan and I now kind of see what they're trying to do with 76 but at the same time it doesn't sound like something I personally will be all that interested in. It sounds like basically a huge Fallout multiplayer sandbox. Which is something I'm sure some people will love but I play those games for narrative and immersion. And it sounded like their may not even be any storyline NPCs in the game. Which is a deal breaker for me.
Rage 2 looked kind of awesome though. I wasn't really sure what to expect from that but it reminded me of Bulletstorm. Which peaks my interest in a big way.

I'd love a new Tenchu game.Sekiro is basically what I wanted the new Tenchu to be ;-; (just with a weaker main character, forcing you to rely on stealth). Hoping hardcore they SOMEHOW make it part of the Tenchu Universe, hinting for a future sequel.

) and looking forward to wtv Nintendo will show (they have a lot to work with).I'm with you in the sense that Fallout 76 is probably not a game I will play. But I do know a lot of Fallout fans who for years have been asking for a game like this. Since Fallout 3. So I think this will make them extremely happy. It doesn't do much for me though. I want RPGs not multiplayer action games.A bit disappointed with the direction Beth's taking with Fallout. Since the reveal that it was expected to be a game like this, so the e3 trailer of 76 didnt surprise me. They acknowledged Fallout 4 didn't please the fans (and Beth itself, but had the game been reviewed super nicely they wouldn't had said a thing) and instead of making a game closer to new vegas they double down on the "casual" aspect and make adult minecraft with their ip.

I'm not a Microsoft guy either. The last Xbox console I bought was the original Xbox in order to play Oblivion and KOTOR. But I also think they were in the biggest hole. And the ton of Gears of War stuff along with the all the other game trailers and announcements and the Cyberpunk trailer is huge for them. I feel like what they really had to do was come out and imply they realize they need bring their fans more games. And not like mid tier stuff like Sea of Thieves, State of Decay 2, and Cup head either. Like real tent pole games like Sony is getting out there. And I think they succeeded wonderfully at that.Microsoft had a larger quantity and a lot of good stuff, but that was an XBOX conference first and foremost to me. Yeah, I'd be skeptical about playing through 76 solo and it being a holistic experience. Reminds me of a lot of the skepticism surrounding Anthem.
The difference is still that Sony has a ton of big ones that aren't multiplatform. Aside from Halo, GoW, and Forza, what else does the Xbox have incoming that are going to be killer apps for people?I'm not a Microsoft guy either. Well, I agree that Sony should blow Microsoft out of the water. Without a new Fable game or huge new IP there isn't much they can do about that. The difference is still that Sony has a ton of big ones that aren't multiplatform. The new Assassin's Creed game looked fantastic to me. I gave up on the franchise many games ago but this one excites me in a big way.I thought Ubisoft was just okay. BG&E2 looked great, and Skull and Bones is interesting. But other than that, I just didn't really care. No Splinter Cell was a pretty big disappointment to me.
Did you play Origins? I think rebooting it in the way they did was an odd choice. Doesn't mean it isn't a good game or anything. But if the focus is supposed to be on actual Assassins and stealth gameplay, it seems like they lost their way a long time ago to me. But it's hard to resist making a game in that kind of setting, I bet.The new Assassin's Creed game looked fantastic to me. Specifically that it's set in Greece and Sparta and that it's much more of an RPG than any previous game. With full on branching dialogue and romance options. It's funny because it seems like Bioware has been copying Assassin's Creed style open world games for a while now. Yet Ubisoft seems like they are copying the Witcher with this new game. A Witcher 3 style Assassin's Creed game? Hell yes!!! I'll play the crap out of that.
No. I didn't play Origins. I haven't played any of the games since about an hour of Black Flag years ago.Did you play Origins? I think rebooting it in the way they did was an odd choice. Not that the series was ever the best example of historical accuracy, there were a lot of things with Odyssey that seemed way off to me...![]()
That's the best Yakuza game too.
