Would never happen. Larian doesn't use Unreal. They have been using a proprietary engine and I believe this game is entirely in thier control. No publishers mucking things up.

No, it's confirmed. It's not even being sold on EGS apparently.

"You will see Steam pages pop up, you will see GOG pages pop up, but no Epic pages will pop up," says Swen Vincke, founder of Larian Studios. "I don't see why not; I don't believe in exclusives, I prefer to be everywhere."
Larian is the best!

Their bad history with publishers is part of the reason why they've been using Kickstarter since DOS. Apparently they've tripled the size of their team for Baldur's Gate. Seems promising.

They are by far the best studio for Baldur's Gate, IMO. With Divinity Original Sin 1 & 2 they kind of mastered the CRPG. The second one especially is even better than Baldur's Gate II (Which was my favorite of them) in a lot of ways while maintaining that pen and paper RPG feel those games need.

I'm curious if they will adapt thier own Divinity rule set or go with the more defined D&D rule set. Either way, I have complete faith in Larian to deliver an incredible game.

Will be on Steam and GOG, no Epic exclusive nonsense

@Vici :wowsoBOB
Aye, I'm hyped.

I may be wrong but the guy in the trailer was from Flaming Fist so we coming back really to Baldur's Gate ( maybe :P ) and visit some locations from the first game.

I wonder if we will be able to meet some old companions ( Minsc ) Viconia is dead according to the lore :emocat

The fact that Larian Studios is doing it really set up my expectantions high.. :P

Also that Mind flayer looks hot.

Apparently it's going tie into and take place directly after the fifth edition of the D&D tabletop campaign, Descent into Avernus. Which seems to feature the city, yeah. I've seen a lot of people hopeful about them finally adding Drow as a playable race in 3 too, but I'm not exactly sure why, maybe just wishful thinking.

Seems like it'll have online and local co-op as well, not very surprising given what Larian did with DOS

Also that Mind flayer looks hot.
... yeah... hot

Probably because, like myself, they were brainwashed by reading god knows how many RA Salvatore Drizzt Do'Urden books.

Honestly, it would be nice to have a drow as a playable race ( It was in Icewind Dale ) however when it comes to race I hope it will be really expanded how the world reacts upon you.

As a Drow technically everyone should treat you like shit.

Like Viconia that was going to to be burned alive just for being Drow ( or worse shit that she went through and was mentioned ).

This seems to be a sticking point, since if the game features the city again, I don't think Drow would be very welcome lol

lol, well it's probably like Vici mentioned. Other Forgotten Realms games like Icewind Dale or Neverwinter had playable Drow characters. Probably feels a bit odd to not have them when NPCs exist.

So steam has a Larian sale going on now. I mention it because Divinity Original Sin 1&2 are so amazing.

And I feel like Divinity Dragon Commander is a very underrated game that not enough people have played. For $4 that is a steal. One of the more interesting RTS/RPG fusions I've seen.

All the "endings" for Baldur's Gate characters were pretty grim too as I remember it. No matter what race they were. That was one thing that always kind of plagued the D&D games. The writers seem very opposed to happy endings.:feelsbadman

Looks like From Software and George RR Martin’s collaboration game is called Elden Ring (second game in the link).

First time I heard of this collaboration :twitch
I don't want to get my hope up too much, but this sounds like it will be good.

There were rumors it was heavily influence by Norse mythology or something of that sort. The description sort of sounds like an open-world game as well, which has me intrigued but also worried...

Jedi Fallen Order looks kinda good. With the EA these days I'm always like "Where's the catch?" but they swear up and down it's just a singleplayer game. The combat looks kinda like dark souls in that it's aiming to be satisfyingly deliberate. It's not Frostbite. It looks like a.. good game.

I'm cautiously excited.

It certainly was the most enjoyable thing from last night - though I dunno, it looked kinda generic to me.

Still, 'generic' isn't necessarily 'bad' - and what was that? 15 minutes?
It's entirely possible that it's far more interesting, when finished, than that quick preview looked to me

It was the only thing worth mentioning from EA Play. I have no idea why they hold an event when there's nothing really there to announce outside of new FIFA, Madden, and a Sims 4 DLC. I know it makes them a lot of money, so they're going to mention them... but who exactly do they think watches E3 press conferences? The type of person who buys the new sports game every single year? Really? lol

As far as the Fallen Order footage, I was kind of underwhelmed. I get that it's still considered early alpha or beta, but this game is supposed to be releasing in November.. It looked a tad bit generic, the graphics weren't particularly impressive and neither was the bits of combat we saw. I saw someone doing a side-by-side comparison to what we saw with the combat in Jedi Outcast (2003) and it was a bit jarring. :lmao

That doesn't mean it can't be a solid game, just nothing about it really wowed me.

Larian confirms co-op, 100+ hour playthrough, closed-chapter approach, D&D classes and subclasses for Baldur's Gate 3

Well, tonight, with Microsoft and Bethesda, should hopefully have a lot better showing - am probably going to put it on in the background, whilst I do some work, and flip to stream if anything interesting comes up

Yeah, read that - all good stuff but pretty much exactly as expected, to be fair.

These kind of games are always pretty ginormous - but it's gonna be hard to know how it'll be, till we can actually play.

I do expect good things though

I thought the last guy in the trailer looked a tad familiar... and then he appeared on stage

Poor guy read his lines like a champ, but looked a bit lost up there

12 minutes seems kinda interesting - like some Groundhog Day, Source Code, murder mystery thing

Super short trailer, but the idea and the aesthetics seem pretty solid to me
