you got tired of WoW or is it related to the way Blizzard handled the Hong Kong situation?
Well, both really. Was pretty much 5-6 weeks of only playing WoW. But the way Blizzard handled themselves made it even easier to just unsub and play something else.

More game delay news. But at least they're just pushing the date back to refined it more.

I'm happy to hear it with Bloodlines 2 though. I played Bloodlines 1 at release way back when. The series definitely doesn't need anything like that again. I have it preordered on steam and I'm perfectly content to get it when I get it.

Besides CyberPunk is releasing in April. It's not like we'll be short on RPGs.

I haven't seen latest trailers but apparently people haven't been very satisfied with how the combat looked? I guess combat isn't the most important thing when it comes to something aspiring to be more of a pure RPG.

Looked fine in everything I've seen. Not sure what people were expecting though.

The timing of those announcements with how much Blizzard has shit the bed in the past weeks is just hilarious. Blizzcon is only two weeks away too.

I think those announcements were some of the worst kep secrets in the gaming industry though, as rumors/leaks had existed for a while. The thing that was surprising about them is that they were ALL true.

So an Overwatch clone, a Hearthstone clone, and a fighting game. And an E-Sports manager. I don't think I've ever been less excited about announcements.

not a fan of any of those but i'm intrigued about the fighting game and the possible MMO they're making.

Riot games are fully owned by Tencent though. The same Chinese conglomerate that has a 5% stake in Activision Blizzard.

For me though all this seems like more games as a service type stuff and that's the problem. When somebody announces one of those I feel the same level of excitement I do when I pull junk mail out of my mailbox.

It doesn't appear to be an Overwatch clone. Overwatch didn't invent the "hero shooter" genre. Aside from the art style and it being hero-based, it looks like it has more in common with CSGO. A buy menu could be seen in one of the clips.

Heroes of the Storm? I guess it's in "maintenance" mode or whatever they want to call it. Not really developing new content for it at the same pace they were because it wasn't as successful as they had hoped. The reality is they were way too late to the punch, and the team-XP style of the game ended up making it so the best individual players had less impact on the average game. It's baby's first MOBA.

Fair enough, I don't play either so I wouldn't know the difference honestly. To me is 6 of one half a dozen of the other.

Yeah, after delaying NPCs yet AGAIN. Seems the price is for having a private server... such a joke.

Stellaris (PC) has been taking up most of my time but I've returned to playing God Eater 2 on PS4 since I want to get through it, 3 and Code vein faster.

But studying Chinese, applying for assistant professor jobs, and usual work gets in the way.

So COD:MW came out on Friday and have been playing a fair bit of that. I'm not sure how I feel about it though. The most common complaint so far which I agree with is that the maps are way too big. Some are better than others but it generally feels like a COD - Battlefield hybrid. Camping is more prevalent at the moment but it's still early days so it may change as people get used to the maps. So yeah the multiplayer feels very different to past Call of Duty games so you have to play the multiplayer a bit differently. Run and Gun style players are weaker in this because of the map sizes and number of buildings, windows, doors and corners people can just camp in.

I haven't started the campaign yet but I'm sure it would be fine.

Modern Warfare is kind of a mixed bag as far as the maps go. Some are fine and some feel absolutely terrible. The worst thing about it though is the shotguns. I'm not sure why so many games get shotguns completely wrong. They require no aiming skill because from 10ft away the hitzone is as large as my fucking character model. So people are either running around corridors and one-hitting you, or they're laying prone on staircases just waiting for people. Imagine paying $60 to lay down in a videogame.

Figured you'd be playing Red Dead @xi0. It's finally out on PC.

@Hakuteiken is, but I didn't take the plunge. I'm interested, just not sure how much I am at full price/not on Steam. I never played the first one, so I have no real attachment to it. I also heard mixed things about the gameplay itself, and a lot of negative things about the online multiplayer too. Thankfully I'm not too spoiled or at least don't remember, so might check it out eventually. You?

Seems like there's some huge performance and bug issues too, with the game not even launching for many people. Another broken PC port, yay...
