Any here bought a PS5? If yes, what do you think of it? I am considering getting one late December.

I'll probably get one too at some point. Though I keep a gaming PC so I probably won't get one for a while. If I didn't have one of those I'd be looking for a PS5 to play Cyberpunk on for sure.

I still have the OG xbox. i wanted to upgrade to the one x last year then they announced the series X. Now i'm itching for that 4k 60FPS ray tracing short loading screen times next gen experience for $500. And got a shitload of games in my backlog waiting. So i want the series X right now, i'll probably get a ps5 in 2022.

As for Cyberpunk2077 i decided i'll wait next year to play it, when they release the next gen optimized patch to get the full experience.

I already have a list of game i wanna play next year as soon as i get my hand on a Series X :plot

Replay and finish witcher 3 (got lost in sidequests and never finished the game)
yakuza 0, kiwami 1 and 2
gears tactics
Doom eternal
Star wars jedi fallen order
assassin creed valhalla
dirt 5

no released yet :
batman gotham knight,
cyberpunk 2077
mass effect legendary edition.

2021 Gon' be a busy year, look like my switch gonna be gathering some dust. Oh and fuck Control, it was on my list but they wanna make people buy the game again to get the next gen update.

I don't expect true next gen games ( horizon 2, fable 4, hellblade 2, god of war ) before 2022. Cyperbunk 2077 optimized version might be the closest thing we get to a true next gen game. By true next gen games i mean games that use 100% of what the hardware is capable of and that are developped from scratch with next gen in mind ( unreal engine 5)

Unlikely. Currently using a modest 2060 KO. Since I don't really mess with 4k or anything like that it gets the job done really well. It will probably be a bit before that feels like it can't do what I want it to.

My brother got me a PS4 like 5 years ago.

I've only played it once.

I'm a disappointment to gamers everywhere.

What I've played is great. Haven't been able to dig in as much as I'd like but it's lived up to the hype for me.

Bug and glitch situation has been pretty manageable for me so far on PC.

I've managed to put quite some time into the game now and have only experienced a single glitch - if I put on a hat, my character appears bald in mirrors

Considering how much I hate the hats, this hasn't been much of an issue

It's a real shame that the experience has been so vastly different, for many other people... As, minus some small niggling design choices, I'm really enjoying what I've been playing - also, the game is really beautiful and the environments immersive

I think that the severe performance issues they have been experiencing have left an [understandably] bad taste in far too many people's mouths and has made it almost impossible for them to see all the stuff that the game does right (I guess a game that's near impossible to play will do that, however)

I really do think it's a great game, issues with a performance on platforms aside, but an interesting realization I had while playing it was what sort of game it is and what sort of game it isn't. What I mean by that is that there are some expectations I had going in that really don't match up with what the game turned out to be.

Like I expected V to be a much more dynamic character than he is. Like Shepard from Mass Effect or something like that. And that's really not what they're going for with him. You can't really make sweeping changes to who that character is, at least that's been my experience so far. They approach they've taken is to make him more like Geralt in that he's a defined character whose actions are the dynamic part of the story. Your choosing how he handles people and situations but not having a huge effect on who he is as a character.

Another thing is the loot system. I was not expecting that at all. I was expecting you buy or unlock one gun of a certain type or model and then you upgrade it. Instead you are doing the whole legendary, rare, uncommon loot stuff. Which is fine, just not what I was expecting.

But at the same time it does meet the expectations I had for the game to be great. The actual stories are great, so far. The gameplay is fun. The setting is honestly amazing. I probably won't know until I get to the end what's not in there that I wish was. But what I've seen already is really impressive.

I actually prefer V to be like this (more like Geralt than Shepard) - makes it easier for me to roleplay V how I like

As for the loot system... unfortunately, it sits firmly on my list along with the armoured hats/trousers/shoes and enemy health bars/damage counters as unfortunate 'arcadey'/'gamey' decisions that I really wish they had not taken

I don't see how common, uncommon, legendary, epic, etc. loot adds any interest to the game - other than adding yet another overcomplicated immersion-breaking system to the world

It means I end up having to sift through piles of junk - Diablo style - with 99% of it being worthless
Rather than using only weapons I enjoy and upgrading them/modifying them with addons (stocks/scopes/sights/granade-launchers/etc.)

Can't see how the game wouldn't be better if clothes were merely cosmetic (or added to reputation), unless specifically designed to be protective (stab-vest/body armour), and guns/loot/upgrades weren't purely 'functional', without all the added colour-coded nonsense

You don't technically need stats on every fucking thing to make an interesting [and enjoyable] RPG game

I haven't played enough to form a firm opinion on that loot stuff, honestly. It just wasn't what I was expecting. Most of the time it's just stuff to sell. As it is with most games of this type including Witcher 3. If you don't want to mess with it I'm sure it's annoying. I don't mind too much. From a role playing perspective sort of makes sense to be selling everything you can get your hands on.

In terms of clothing and such. I haven't seen any Set based stuff yet. I don't know if that's in there or not. If it's not, it's going to feel like a weird omission. But I don't mind cobbling together an outfit. Balancing with stats with my personal vanity. I'm fine with messing with that. Though I do understand why somebody else might not be.

The game is incredibly buggy, but I would say 90% of it isn't gamebreaking, just immersion-breaking. That matters more to some than it does to others, hence people claiming they've had a bug-free experience, when that's almost certainly not the case for anyone.

I think it's obvious they sort of underdelivered as far as features and depth go. I'm not sure if I can blame that on troubled development or having to pare down things for the sake of console release. The performance even on PC is a bit under what I was hoping for, but my PC can't really be considered top of the line anymore either, so that's not something I can really hold against it.

That being said with about 20 hours put into it so far, the entire experience has been pretty good overall. Short of not being able to run the game at all, I'm not sure how people are finding it so easy to be passionately negative about it.

I feel strangely guilty that it's... working just fine for me. Very insignificant amount of bugs. Sorry, I guess?:amuse

I do feel bad for everybody who isn't getting the experience I am. Hopefully they can get it patched up enough that most can get this experience.

If somebody is looking for an RPG they can actually play more reliably. I personally reccomend Yakuza: Like a Dragon. That game was terrific. Can't say enough good things about it.
