Well, he actually doesn't live near me, so I can't just ask him. I'm pretty sure he wants his privacy as well. I only know because I sometimes deliver his mail, but I don't watch the series.

Not quite, Lutherville-Timonium (Home of Diamond Comics, State Fair, & forgot those two game developers, forgot which game, but they state the strongest metal is Timonium)

Re: The LOST Thread: Beware of SPOILERS!!!

Read if you want to. These are Season 6 spoilers...

It's been confirmed that Charlie,Shannon,Juliet,Claire, DANIEL FARADAY! (WOOP!) will be returning in the 6th Season.

Also Sawyer will be back to his old self again (YES!) at the thought of loosing Juliet...there isn't going to be flashbacks or flashforwards but something different, it's not explained as usual. :)

The 2 dead bodies that we saw in Season 1 (Adam and Eve) will be revealed who they are.

Richard is going to be a REGULAR cast, he will be appearing in 16 of 18 episodes.

Jack and Locke WILL go head to head.

The timeline will revert back. From the past and the present, it will all combine and return to normal.

Re: The LOST Thread: Beware of SPOILERS!!!

Ooooh, spoilers! :nuts Thanks for posting, Weapon, but if I may ask, what is your source?

So, if these spoilers do indeed check out....

Yay for Charlie coming back! :pmg (and "meh" for Shannon... not a huge fan)

I'm also wondering about the format of the episodes. It will be weird if there's no jumping between time periods. Sounds kinda funny to say that, but it's true when it comes to Lost. :p

No word yet about Jacob or his rival?

Re: The LOST Thread: Beware of SPOILERS!!!

The source is here http://www.sl-lost.com/tag/season-6/
:) There are a lot of videos there, also with info. There are interviews with the actors, also there is like an hour interview with Damon Lindeloof and Carlton Cuse at ComicCon :) As you know I am a LOSTtard :lmao You should look at the Comicon videos Part 1,2,3 and 4. It is awesome!

As far as I know, I can't remember much about Jacob. But everyone thinks that Richard is now plotting everything secretly...meh...I just want the season to appear now! Also Daniel is returning! YAY! I wonder how though...¬.¬

Re: The LOST Thread: Beware of SPOILERS!!!

I spent a portion of the holidays watching all five seasons of Lost (hadn't watched it before). Since I imagine most of the material in this thread has decreased in relevance as the series progressed and various mysteries were "explained," I'm only going to respond to the last couple of pages.

what Jacob's rival has done, " you don't know what I've been through to get here". If he meant that it took me a long time to find someone to kill you,why not kill Jacob himself?

Also 1 more thing, did you notice that Jacob looks ALOT similar to Aaron?
The way I interpreted that line was that the nemesis had essentially played Jacob's game in order to kill the latter. Jacob took the position that existential growth outweighs the limits of human life. That is, the means and particulars are considerably more important than the end result. While the individuals brought to the island may end up destroying each other, their struggles and suffering enrich their lives through the ensuing personal growth. During the Black Rock scene, the nemesis was defending resignation as the superior stance. Since everything and everyone has the same end result, there's no reason to interfere. This difference in philosophies led to the nemesis's desire to kill Jacob. Ironically, in order to do this, he would have to "become Jacob," both in the sense of being an impostor and employing Jacob's methods. After that, the line is just a matter of self-loathing and then projecting that upon Jacob during the latter's "death" scene.

Aaron=Jacob/will become the next Jacob seems too obvious to me. The creators of the show have been practicing misdirection since the beginning. For example, in season one, while the statement that they wanted the boy was open-ended and one could determine that they meant Walt, it was heavily implied that the Others wanted Aaron, not Walt. Aaron is certainly unique. He was the first baby born on the island in a while, there's a prophecy surrounding his upbringing and happiness, etc. However, the events that serve as indicators of his becoming Jacob seem overly contrived to me. One example would be the vision Kate had of Claire's warning about bringing Aaron back to island. While that seems to imply that Jacob's nemesis, if he was responsible for the vision, doesn't want Aaron on the island, it just feels too obvious.

Excellent, Faraday will be back. After the connection between Faraday and Eloise surfaced, I immediately thought back to Brother Campbell (possibly an ironic name) from season three. The latter had a picture on his desk of himself and Eloise. Additionally, he was a part of Desmond's past (Faraday and Desmond served as causal agents in one another's timelines). Then, Faraday went and got himself shot by his mother. I lost a bit of hope.

After further reflection upon mystery surrounding the survival of Locke, after his fall, and Ben, after Sayid shot him, I reinforced my position. In the former, it appeared that Jacob revived Locke by laying hands upon him. In the latter, Richard chose to bring Ben to the temple, despite the fact that Ben would become an anomaly. During this instance, he stated that he doesn't answer to the leaders of the Others. As we know, he answers to Jacob, who generally gives Richard instructions. Even if Jacob didn't plan for Ben to become an anomaly through this event (and thus, orchestrating his own "death" at the end of season five), the fact that Richard wasn't stripped of his power and that Ben eventually became the leader implies that Jacob didn't consider Ben a threat to his overall goal (ironically, Ben had "forgotten" the level of involvement Jacob and Richard had in his life. After reminding Ben he has a choice, Jacob intentionally provokes Ben, even though the latter is indebted to him.)

Back to my original point about Faraday. We have evidence that Jacob can void a death if he so desires. When talking to Ben, Richard had said that the "patient" leaders eventually meet Jacob. While we know that Widmore and Ben never met Jacob, that doesn't mean the same applies to Eloise. In fact, her early appearances and interaction with the Oceanic 6 implies that she had met Jacob. When she appeared in the ring shop to instruct the flashing Desmond, she had to know exactly when and where to be. She also had a number of tidbits for the losties at the lamp post. For her to be able to do this, she would need a) her son, who had the magical diary of time travel and could interpret it; or b) to be a member of Jacob's faction. However, I don't think she would have assisted Jacob to such an extent if the latter had done nothing to help her son. While Jacob would have to set conditions for the relationship between Faraday and Eloise, I think Jacob ended up reviving Faraday, who later became Brother Campbell, in order to secure Eloise's allegiance for future events.

This brings me to my primary prediction for season 6: I think Desmond, not Aaron, will be the next avatar for Jacob/the synthesis of Jacob and his nemesis. As Eloise indicated, the island is not yet done with Desmond and his experiences with time displacement are far more unique than those of the other losties.

Finally, I believe that the only thing Jughead accomplished was the pregnancy issue that plagues the current mothers of the island...and returning the losties to their time. I mean, it would be ironic, wouldn't it? Juliet was brought to the island to deal with the fertility issue, but she was also the one who caused it.

p.s. Loved the irony of ajira shooting at oceanic during the boat chase. "Screw it, we don't want Miles anymore."

p.p.s. Is it wrong that I was more pissed off when Eko (a.k.a. Adebisi) was killed than when Charlie drowned? Retrospectively, Eko's pretty much been the only oceanic survivor to directly challenge Jacob's nemesis and internalize Jacob's apparent philosophy, though I suppose that's why Eko was killed.

Re: The LOST Thread: Beware of SPOILERS!!!

kaliayev, so if you just recently watched the all 5 seasons of Lost, you can also write:
- your favourite character/s
- your favourite scene/s
- your favourite retrospection/"flash forward"/s
xD

I like your ideas - though I'm not to much into making my own, I just enjoy that show especially because of the characters, hyhy ^^ And yeah, Eko death was <for me at least> unexpected, and he was the character which I would like to see more; cool background and cool "new" philosophy of life, he was an interesting persona.

btw. Is it true that Lost season 6 will be the final one? <3

- your favourite retrospection/"flash forward"/s
Characters: Desmond, Eko, and Faraday. Hugo would be included in that list if I wasn't so certain that he'll end up killing an important, possibly likable, figure before the series is over.

Scenes: Sawyer kills Sawyer, Eko defies Jacob's nemesis, Ben vs. the Bedouin gunners, introduction of "the man in the hatch," and Sayid's duels.

Flashbacks/forwards: Anything involving Desmond, anything from Eko's past, and the time when Locke's father stole Locke's kidney (Locke always comes out of situations looking like a fool. In the end, Flocke may even fall victim to this rule).

Episodes: The Constant, The Cost of Living, The Variable, All the Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues, and Cabin Fever.

Quotes: "See you in another life, brother," "Whatever happened, happened," "I ask for no forgiveness, Father, for I have not sinned. I have only done what I needed to do to survive...When I was a young boy, I killed a man to save my brother's life. I am not sorry for this; I am proud of this. I did not ask for the life I was given, but it was given nonetheless. And with it, I did my best," and my alteration of "Live together, [betray one another, and then] die alone."

I feel like I should do the same but I don't really have the time :eyeroll

I haven't been keeping abreast of the rumor mill at all so I have no idea where the series is heading for the final season, all I know is some previously dead characters are returning.

Re: The LOST Thread: Beware of SPOILERS!!!

I don't know how many people have checked out the season five dvds, but there was an interesting deleted scene on the last in the set. In the scene, Flocke and Sun discussed the promise that Locke had made to Jin. It was implied that Flocke is bound to that promise, and because of this, has to "protect" her. This is certainly consistent with the fact that she was the only one of the Ajira five to not be flashed into 1977, so it will be interesting to see if the writers intend to have that play out in the Losties favor.

Heh, looks like the entire first episode leaked. The quality was terrible, so I only watched about one minute past the ABC teaser (was frustrated since most of it was old footage), but I won't ruin it for anyone. Needless to say, you guys won't be disappointed with the shock value. Those who are interested should be able to find the episode online.

It would have been nice if Ben's head had exploded there.
I was pissed off. Seriously, LOST always does this LOL I wanted to see the ending for that so badly. Also I wonder what Jack said in the other trailer where he mentioned why his name was written down in something...hmm, very interesting.

It's probably one of Jacob's big "lists"/the prophecies surrounding the Losties. After Locke died, it was clear that Jack had inherited Locke's mantle as the island's "favorite" and the man of faith, even if he is still somewhat conflicted. He's probably just gonna be pissed off that his efforts to control his destiny, despite certain arguments he made about fate, will be revealed to be part of Jacob's self-fulfilling prophecy. If he's smashing "his" prophecy, it may cause him to become unhinged like Desmond had been during seasons 2-4, though he could just as easily be destroying someone else's prophecy. Perhaps he indirectly causes Sawyer's mysterious fall?

Based on the fact that Jacob died, it's highly likely that either Hurley or Miles will become his de facto proxy since both have had prior encounters with Jacob/his faction and can communicate with the dead. That's the only explanation I have for Hurley's apparent importance in that teaser. However, I still think he'll end up killing one of the Losties.

To anyone who may click the spoiler here, this is about the first teaser in Weapon X's post. It contains glimpses of season 6's entirety, so you should avoid looking at it, the spoiler in this post, and the spoiler in Weapon X's post if you don't want any of that information.

My first response to Weapon X deals with a teaser of the first episode so you needn't fear viewing it after episode one airs.
