I don't know, stuff like Hydroman or Shocker don't seem like they could carry entire movies. Sort of how Sandman and Rhino played second fiddle to bigger characters. It could still be something like that, but Keaton being 64 makes me believe it won't be one of the villains with great physicality or something. Maybe it could be like Chameleon? Chameleon would actually make a lot of sense with a young Spiderman too, since it's the first supervillain Spiderman ever encountered.

i only suggest hammerhead because he's a pistol packer keaton could pull off....plus he represents organized crime.
could introduce spidey to daredevil like this....kingpin....idk?
like you i believe it would have to be a "non-action" role for keaton....using guns would remedy that.

Idk, I think Hammerhead is too much of a "stooge" character to carry a Spiderman film.

As far as Daredevil being involved, no idea. I only know that they're making a The Defenders miniseries crossover with the other Marvel Netflix characters (Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist). Don't know if any of those characters will be involved in any of the films. I believe the creators of the series have said that Daredevil is going to stay localized to Hell's Kitchen.

1. Doctor Strange trailer looks good and different from what they've done with the other solo films. Definitely more interested in this one than "Ant Man".

2. Rouge One teaser also looks good and more than likely will make up for all 3 prequels. Can we get a cameo from Vader, please.

3. Suicide Squad's newest trailer has more Joker and Batman, but I hope, the Task Force X team steals the show, since the movie is about them.

4. J.K. Simmons is now casted as Commissioner Gordon for JL: Part 1 and more than likely Part 2 and the solo Batman film, so who can possibly replace his J.Jonah Jameson for the new "Spider-Man: Homecoming" film next summer...?. I can't think of any actor to out do his performance.

5. Michael Keaton playing a villain in the new Spidey villain, wow. :gwah

6. Deadpool 2 is official and starts filming possibly this fall. We need Cable and hopefully, "The New Mutants" team.

7. 4 sequels now for "Avatar" and a new logo was presented from James Cameron and the films begin release in December of 2018. really, "four"...?.

8. New image of "Ghost in the Shell" film was released :hmph, not sure how I feel about Scarlett playing the Major, I think, Noomi Rapace (Dr. Shaw from Prometheus) would've been a better fit. Will see next March.

9. Infinity War: Parts 1 & 2 will be completely different from one another as explained by the Russo Brothers, this actually makes more sense now considering the release schedules for the other projects in between these two parts.

10. Today, Jon Favreau's adaptation of "The Jungle Book" is released and people already have fallen in love with the film. Can't wait to see it this weekend. :super

That wouldn't solve the major issue most people have with the casting, the "whitewashing".

:( bruh, it's made in America and you know they are going to cast a caucasian female for the role of the Major. Plus, even though it's based on a japanese manga (one of my favs of all time), the characters resemble white people more than say blacks, hispanics, indians and other groups of people with color. Sorry that may sound rude or rash, but it's the truth.

I agree with you, there should be a Japanese actress for the film, but that isn't going to happen if the film is made and produced in America by American film studios. They want Scarlett Johansson in the film because she's big right now off the Marvel franchises as well as an accomplished actress. Period. It's just business as usual in the game. :mono

I was just mentioning what the buzz was online about the teaser stuff. Not that I necessarily agree with it. I think it's kind of stupid that they couldn't cast an Asian person in the role, but it makes sense with how big names usually getting attached to stuff actually leads to production happening in the first place.

Oh man. Today is the only showing of VVitch in my town (during a special horror event), and I won't make it because of work. Darn it. That seemed like a film I'd wanted to see in cinema.

Finally saw The Revenant. Pretty amazing film honestly. Maybe a bit "shallow" as far as conventional storytelling goes, but everything else about it was just astounding. A lot of the people I've seen who had criticism of it said it was too dour but that honestly didn't bother me at all.

Flames are getting higher over a Warner Brothers. The director for the Flash movie abandoned ship and the direction for Aquaman is supposedly feeling "a tremendous amount of trepidation" about his film.

Also I guess WB leadership is not pleased with Zack Snyder even before BvS came out over what he had in mind for Justice League but couldn't do anything about it like delaying the shoot to make changes without hurting BvS's box office. Man, it sounds like they are in trouble but they kind of deserve it for giving Zack Snyder the keys to to the castle.

Captain America Civil War is pretty amazing. I don't think that statement comes as a surprise for most, I'm just wondering where it ranks among the best Marvel movies; it's probably no.1 above Winter Soldier for me.

It is everything you loved in Winter Soldier, with the addition of an Avengers cast plus Black Panther and Spiderman. The later of the two are a brilliant addition to the cast; T'Challa for his abilities as a warrior and respect his commands puts in a "majestic" performance and pulls off the african heritage, and Peter is hilarious in providing some of the best lines in the film as well as fight sequences.

Honestly, you'd probably need to see the film more than once to truly appreciate everything that's in it and in the end its run time of 2h37 goes by quite quickly. The only thing that I would say is misleading is that, overall the movie isn't as "dark" as the trailers would put it to be.

In terms of action, there's no shortage of it and that underground chase scene with Black Panther, Cap and Bucky is longer and so much better than what you see in the trailers and so is the airport scene.

Comedy-wise, the most surprising fun came from Bucky and Falcon, they clicked so well in this film it's hilarious. But also Vision is funny because of his curiosity and obviously Ant-Man too.

Man, I can't wait to see it again. After 30mins of the film, I just felt so bad for Batman vs Superman lol.

9/10

The Russo brothers handled the characters better than Joss Whedon did on Age of Ultron IMO. And the Russo brothers did not rely on quips as much as Whedon did and produced great fights/action with a packed small cast and in no need for Chitauri or Ultron bots. I'm glad they would be directing both the Avengers: Infinity War movies.

Spider-Man and Black Panther were both great. Looking forward to their solo movies.

The big ass label of the location from foreign scene to foreign scene is hilarious lol.

And as expected the villain is not interesting. Where will they produce another good villain besides Loki? It's nice that they are focusing more on making the heroes interesting though, it's a superhero movie after all.

There's a post-credits scene as well so don't leave after the mid-credits scene.

Zack Snyder was the director, not the writer. The two writers of the film are the ones I have a gripe with, Snyder took the script and did what he was suppose to do and made it visually entertaining like all directors who direct films. Not sure, why people blame directors for bad films like this, when the writing is where it really counts. But, that's my opinion.

Aren't directors responsible for bringing a script to screen? You don't read a movie after all.

As xio said, a director in a movie is involved in bringing the script to the screen and in Zack Snyder's case is also responsible for the script getting picked in the first place. He's a producer on just about the entire DC movie line and the Director for Man of Steel, BvS, and the two part Justice League movie. For better or worse he's one of the most influential people on DC's cinematic universe.

He's also the guy who directed Watchmen and that's very much the kind of story he seems to gravitates toward. Which is something you can tell by his approach and I think is much of the problem with Man of Steel and BvS. In order to do the story he wants he's shifting inherently heroic characters toward more a nihilistic style that he prefers. And I think it's starting to dawn on people at Warner Bros that letting him do that is a really bad idea.

Captain America: Civil War - 8 / 10

Overall film was even on story and characters. This is kind of a sequel to both "Winter Soldier" and "Age of Ultron" and Captain America really struggles with his position to the Avengers and his best friend, Bucky. The villain, Zemo was actually cleverly done and I don't think, we've seen the last of him by a long shot.

The action sequences were eye catching and fit perfectly with the direction of the story goal, plus the introduction of new characters, Black Panther and Spider-Man were treated creatively. I also think the inclusion of Ant-Man into the fight was handled with a comical edge that really eased up the film and that was cool.

The main battle amongst the Avengers is entertaining, exciting and feels like the Russo Brothers are teasing us for what a major battle is going to look like in the upcoming sequels for "Infinity War".

Marvel has definitely built up a great start for Phase 3 and this is only the beginning. Looking forward to "Doctor Strange" in November.

p.s., @xi0 & jammin , Chris Terrio and David S. Goyer are both credited for writing "Batman v Superman" not Snyder. He didn't write anything for the film and it is in the credits is all I'm saying. :teach

Just saw Cap 3 as well. It gets a 9/10 from me, easily.

I feel like the argument can be made that for it being the new best MCU movie. Almost every character is great and the story line was really well written. My only little quibble is actually...

The whole Steve Rodgers X Sharon Carter romance thing. I know it's straight out of the comics but I'm just not into that even a little. I mean, the whole dating his ex-girlfriend's granddaughter thing seems weird to me then on top of that either the character herself or Emily VanCamp's version of the character is lacking something for me. There is a sense of charisma or chemestry or something that just isn't there.

Loved Spiderman, it's the first big screen version of the character that feels like the comic book character. Loved Black Panther, I went from not caring much about the character to being totally stoked for a movie about him. And Paul Rudd continues to be an amazing Antman.

I get the feeling you don't quite understand just how much influence a director has on a movie. A writer doesn't just write something and then the director makes it scene for scene. Directors send things back to be rewritten all the time to reflect the movie they want to make or the casting they get or whatever. That's just part of the process.

A director has a hand in almost every part of the movie he's making. That's why people like Steven Spielberg get so much credit and people like Michael Bay get so much blame.

Goyer is one of the same guys who wrote the Christopher Nolan Batman movies. Yet those are very different movies because what the directors ultimately did with it. Like take Lex Luthor in BvS. One of the worse parts of the movie. The writer has no control over how Lex Luthor is played or who plays him.
