Alright I finally watched Inception last night and I have to say it's been a while since a movie has matched up/ surpassed my high hopes for it. It was incredible, great cast, Leo DiCaprio was fantastic and should win best actor accolade this year.

Now I'm gonna jump to the Inception thread and give my 2 cents.

Prince of Persia is entertaining at best. Still too disney for me.

saw Inception last week, hehe. my architect friends enjoyed it a whole lot. I did too, even if I realized at the end of the movie it reminded me of "Hardboiled wonderland and The edge of the universe" by Haruki Murakami....

yes, paperboy, Paprika too! and they actually admitted it, though it was on the ANN article, not mentioned in Wikipedia.

but to be fair, Inception didn't put me to sleep while paprika did

Yeah I never once thought of Paprika until you mentioned it. It IS similar in a sense, but Paprika was no bullseye. It was pretty, but also shallow I thought.

On a side note, I had typed up like 3 pages of dream interpretation info in regards to Inception, but my boyfriend rebooted the computer while I had it up and unsaved, so now I'm a grumpy bump. <___< Now I have to start all over. T___T

I didn't like it, it felt so out of place...they should at least explain the backstory of the asgardians, people who is not into the comics aren't expecting humanoid aliens with amazing tech but nordic gods.

It was a Comic-Con trailer not a general public trailer.

Guess they assume comic-con audience would not need back-story

Watched Hard Candy last night. Awesome. I've never been a big fan of Ellen Page, but she kicked so much ass in that movie I couldn't believe it. Outstanding performance from her (unlike Inception, where she was bland at best, annoying at worst).

^^Agreed...never saw Inception...but Hard Candy...that was one exciting movie...when I saw it, it was started at 3 am, but as tired as I was, I couldn't help, but to just stare at the TV...awesome movie...one of the best in my book...the way he plays around with the photographer is awesome, especially the surgery

The Expendables - time to count for big bOOms and nice hardcore for action fans. Shit for story, its all about kickin' ass <yeah, I saw once again<!> trailer, I just love it. I think the movie will rock <literally> and I wonder if fans will leave the cinemas alive xP BUT<!> still: its for action fans, expecially fans of action movies of 80/90s <3 Can't wait.

Yeah man, I'm really looking forward to that; all my favourite action heroes in one movie. All that's missing from my childhood heroes are Steven Segal and maybe Chuck Norris and Jackie Chan.

True, also don't forget about Van Damme But I read somewhere that Stallone is really looking forward to big money/popularity with this movie <in a sense: he thinks it will "sell">, and if his hopes come true, he already plans to make The Expendables 2 <maybe he would put even more action stars> I think that this new movie of Stallone will really hit box office.

btw. 3 action stars of movies 80/90s in one scene - it came true, finally

the trailer for Sucker Punch was very impressive fx wise, although it looks really...trippy and random.

I wasn't too happy with Zack Snyder when he did Watchmen, but he can probably do a good job with a concept that's so utterly whacked out

Watched Tekken live action movie today directed by Dwight H. Little. I just don't get it, when will Hollywood ever learn to give up on live action movies. Seriously, the whole theme and essence is lost while making the transition. The fight themselves were not entirely bad but the representation of the characters was way off. The problem with Hollywood is they try to modify too much and thus the originality is totally lost. DB Evolution was a good example of how much they ruined the original.

This movie was similar though not as bad as DB. The think I found missing is the fantasy part of these series. Anyway, Tekken pretty much was a wasted movie. Only see it when you have nothing else to see and you can get it free from a friend or whatever.

^^I was about to post the same thing...watched Tekken yesterday...Jin Kazama's role was pretty well played though...I liked that young actor...did really good...but the movie as a whole...crapload of cliches and boring development...and not to mention the speaking of japanese language...WTF?...shame...

But as consolation prize I thought I'd watch The Book of Eli....well it wasn't such a bad movie...I liked it actually, though there were some scenes, especially the eye movement during those scenes...the blindness was a bit forced...

But saw the animation entitled: 9...nice stuff...I liked it a lot...nice facial expressions...great villain, great mood by the soundtrack, and nice directing style...I loved it

Saw Scott Pilgrim tonight and it was awesome! I felt like I was laughing through practically the whole thing. Michael Cera was perfectly cast -- doing pretty much the same character as he always does. I'd actually like to see him show a little more range with his characters, but for this movie he really works. Kieran Culkin was also particularly funny as Scott's roommate.

Overall, it was fast, slick, funny, geeky (which I mean in absolutely the best way possible <3), and totally quotable. I want to see it again.
