I thought Red was a really good movie. I had never heard of it, but it was a toss up between The Sovial Network and some other movie I didn't want to see, so we went through on demand previews and I was all, THAT'S THE ONE!! And we all liked it. I thought John Malkovich was the best of them, but really they were all good. Mary Louise Parker was interesting to see as someone other than whore Nancy. LOL I didn't enjoy it as much as The Other Guys, but hey, I don't Red was supposed to be a comedy so...yeah.

Saw the Social Network earlier tonight and I quite liked it. The acting was really impressive, even Justin Trousersnake was good. The kid that played Mark Zuckerberg was really good and the music was amazing in some scenes, particularly the rowing scene. 8/10

Yeah, Jesse Eisenberg is a Very good actor, he was very good in Zombieland ... shines in this movie as well ... Lot of hype surrounding the movie and I am happy to say it lives up to it.

I watched Scott Pilgrim vs. The World a few days back. It was a really good movie. In simple words, I loved it.

Inception was a fantastic movie, I want to get it on dvd soon, hopefully for Christmas . I actually liked The Prince of Persia. Was surprised. Never played the game, so maybe I'm biased. I like Resident Evil and you couldn't force me to play those games (Eternal Darkness for life). Actually, RE (the first one) is probably on my top list of zombie movies in general. Anyways, Prince of Persia wasn't the best movie ever, but it was a hell of a lot better than Clash of the Titans. XP

Has anyone seen Denzel's newest movie Unstoppable? I'm thinking of seeing it on Thursday, and it seems to have gotten above average ratings, but I'd like an opinion anyway.

@Kusachu: Prince of Persia really surprised me, I actually wouldn't mind seeing it again as there's several scenes in the movie that are highly awesome.

Inception is a beast of a movie. If the Oscars don't rain for that movie I'll lose all respect for the Academy. Oh and give Leo a freaking Oscar already! The poor guy has been nominated three times!

hmm, I'm just already starting to like Dicaprio's play, I still am confused if I would like him to have an Oscar xd I would give him after some more movies when he would really prove his worth xd have mixed feelings of him because of his earlier work as an actor xd

What? Dicaprio has been kicking serious ass as an actor since 2002 and Gangs of New York.

His performance in The Departed, Blood Diamond, The Aviator, Shutter Island, Revolutionary Road and Inception have all been frighteningly awesome. He's even gotten Oscar nominations for two of those movies, and the third for Departed didn't come because it was released the same year as Blood Diamond. And who knows how Shutter Island and Inception will go for him in terms of nominations? What more is there to prove?

You should all watch Skyline (2010), Its about an alien invasion and theres so many similarities with Gantz! You will be very pleased! I personaly loved it. And most of all the ending is great!

3c, just because he had Oscar nominations doesn't mean <at least for me> that he's a hella of a good actor. At least I'm someone who expects Academy to be very unreliable nowadays xd

About movies you mentioned, I only found him good in those: Blood Diamond, The Aviator, Shutter Island and maybe Inception <Nolan was working with him for the very first time, he could pull off with Leonardo a little more, like Scorsese does with him> If he will keep up that performances, he will get an Oscar.

And who knows how Shutter Island and Inception will go for him in terms of nominations? What more is there to prove?

Its from Japan, where there is multitude of "animation" masterpieces, if there's sth out there it should be uber good. <I didn't watch, just expect it is xP>

About animation nominations, I think that Toy Story 3 will have 99% of being nominated, maybe How to train Dragon <how it went xd> and.. "owls"? I expect Disney's Tangled and Dreamworks Megamind to be good also, but we will see. There are 15 positions, man, I didn't "saw" that it was so many xd <and plz, Shrek Forever no more and without some pull ass nominations just for "free">

I know I'm late but I just watched Scott Pilgrim last night.

hahahahahaha. Satisfaction guaranteed. This being from a fan of the comic. I couldn't really say if non-readers would enjoy it.

That's funny, when I watched it I got this distinct feeling that it would be one of my new favorite movies had I not read the comic first.

I guess my main problem with the movie was Michael Cera. I'm sorry, but that's how it is. Everyone apart from him (and Alison Pill who played Kim Pine) felt pretty well cast, but man... when the main character is so very little like the one you've grown to love when reading the comics, you can't help but feel disappointed. He put such awkwardness into the character which wasn't there in the comics, and really didn't give off the outgoing, quirky expression Scott does in the comic. Still, I knew it was going to be this way because I pointed out before I saw the movie that Michael Cera can only play one role, and it's not Scott Pilgrim. I was just disappointed to find out I was right.

Naturally, you're not gonna be able to squeeze 6 volumes into one movie either, so leaving stuff out of the story was expected, but I really couldn't sit by and say I truly liked what they did with the second half of the story in the movie. It just... I don't know, as soon as the screenwriters started adding their own stuff to the story, the genuineness of the entire story felt kind of shattered.

With that said, the movie is perfect when it comes to visual effects and style and the movie really captures the quirky and comic-y atmosphere of the comic. The music was pretty darn good as well, very much like the kind of music I imagined in my head when reading the comic. And though I realize I sounded overly negative in this post so far, I did laugh, I was amazed at its effects, and the original story is just so good it's impossible to turn it into something unenjoyable.

In a lot of aspects, I'd even go as far as saying it's one of the best comic-to-film adaptations I have ever seen. And like I said, had I not read the comic first, I most likely would've loved this movie, instead of simply liking it.

The thing with Leo is that whether or not you liked all his movies or not, the majority of them have done well. I don't like the Titanic but guess what, its apparently one of the best movies of all time. I'm not a fan of the Aviator but many people loved that. Dicaprio is a fantastic actor in my opinion and whether someone likes him or not is just taste and not facts. The facts are that he does big movies and most of the time a majority of people are pleased. I see evidence (and its not the academy) that he is a great actor and doesn't need to prove anything, lol. I don't love all his movies and people pick and choose which ones they like, but my point is that I've never seen an overwhelming majority say they don't like a movie of his.

I just saw yesterday the Deathly Hallows part 1. I were pleasantly surprised, can't say expections were really high since Halfblood Prince such a piece of crap.

Can't say it was anything magnificent, but decent entertainment, with a few excellent scenes. Some filming locations were awesome, and effects again top notch. The chase near the beginning was very enjoyable for me. The later chase in the woods not so, but the first one makes for it.

Even though split in two parts, it still suffers from obvious cuts from the novels. I bet those who have not read the books have hard time remebering who is who. Dumbledore's past was not explained, for yet at least. It was mentioned there was a scandal, but it wasn't explained what the scandal was. Grindelwald was there, but who he was and his connection to Dumbledore was not mentioned, and I bet most of the viewers don't remember the choclate frog card description from the first film. I hope they fix this in part two.

If I had to rank it, it would be about 6 or 7/10.

Also, I spotted a little blooper; At the beginning precious seconds where used for wondering why Deatheaters found them so quickly. Then the heroes suddenly started refferring Voldermort as he-who-shall-not-be-named without any explanation.

I used to absolutely HATE Leo. everywhere I looked when I was young (way back when the earth was still flat) all I saw was his stupid face on every little girl magazine...blegh! Then Titanic happened and I hated him more, but after watching movies he's in and time and time again being thoroughly impressed with the quality that he brings to a cast, you just have stop and admit, he's damned good. I mean, even in hating him I still had to admit he was good from What's Eating Gilbert Grape.

The lesson to be learned is this: Haters gonna hate, but if you actually watch his movies you will be forced to recognize his talent AND his skill at only picking good scripts to work from.

I didn't like DiCaprio either when I was younger. Though I doubt you could find a guy that did

but he's been pretty good in all of his recent roles and a damn fine actor to boot, so my respect for has gone up in the last couple years. Must help that he usually only works with good directors too.

On another note, flipping A, I am not happy with where they ended Death Hallows. Which doesn't make sense since they still cut out a whole bunch of stuff from the books. I thought the whole point of splitting was to remain faithful to the source material

also raging pretty hard at how they handled Pettigrew, the movie is rated Pg-13 for chrissakes, its like they toned down the movie even though they had a good rating to work with

Saw Unstoppable yesterday. It was pretty good, nothing revolutionary obviously, but a good watch. Movies inspired by real events always get a plus too. After the first 10 minutes there really weren't a single minute of relaxing, the tension kept up throughout the whole movie and it was quite awesome. I like these kind of movies that manage to keep my interest up throughout the whole movie experience. Denzel did a decent play like always.

I took the train back to my appartment after having watched it, and yeah, I did think about possibly train complications and collisions.
