Yeah, marketing for Village was very bad. It was promoted as horror, thoug mystery/drama would be closer. It's woth watching, but nothing spectacular.

Going to see Transformers 2 next tuesday. With the same group of friends with wich we went to see the first one. Last time we has serieos fun, especially in the aftermath in bar after the film Hope this one won't dissapoint us ^^

Sheesh, am I the only one who liked The Village? Also, you forgot about Lady In The Water (I didn't see it). Shyamalan is 3 for 7. Unbreakable is one of my favorite movies, by the way.

Shyamalan is in no way near Uwe Boll.

I never actually Saw The Village, or Lady in the Water, but I heard nothing but bad things about them until you. I fell asleep TWICE during The Happening, which NEVER happens, and I didn't think it was possible to not like a movie with Marky Mark AND John Leguizamo, and had mass suicides in it, but he proved me wrong! Signs was good, and I would give it win except for the lame ending, so it's merely a pass. The Sixth Sense was good, but I worked at the movie theater when it came out and it got ruined simply because when I went in to clean after the first showing some bitch on her way out said, "WOW! I never would have guessed he was dead!!" So, good as it was, the ending twist was a fail.

I thought Unbreakable was magnificent and I have nothing bad to say about it exept the tone of the movie was...um...well it was...very low key, which is something I liked about it, but it was still...awkward for some reason.

So, Unbreakable is a win (though the world seems to disagree with me as far as sales are considered), Sixth Sense is good, Signs is okay, The Happening sucks, and the other two fail because they never gave me ANY reason to want to see them (except now I am curious about these Hollywood bombs).

Because the producers didn't listen to the fans. More importantly; because it's a live action adaptation... That alone is enough to answer your question.

Man, when they announced that there was gonna be a live-action version of Avatar I was so psyched but kept my expectations low knowing what usually happens with L-A adaptions. I just hope they don't screw it up completly...saw the trailer and it looks alright, but the Dev Patel as Zuko...I hope he can pull it off...

Incidentally, for those who've seen the trailer, what did you think of Aang's arrow? it's a more like a tribal thing now, aint it?

Aang's arrow is the least of my concerns. I actually don't mind it at all. I think that is one realistic touch. Real skin probably wouldn't show that color as bright as it did in the cartoon anyways. What I'm miffed about is the same thing as everyone else: a predominantly white cast. And what's up with Sokka's actor being like 25?!? He's supposed to be like 15!!

But what book(series) are they going to tell. The hardest one would be the last series due to the epic fight at the end. But we need to have some kissing at the end of the film between aang and katara

That's probably not going to happen... seeing as they're little kids and it'll surely get a negative rep with some critics. To be honest the kiss scene was pretty cheesy.

I bet it's because of his "romantic relationships" throughout the story. He's only 15 after all. God forbid a 15 year old boy have a couple of girlfriends.
The chick playing Suki looks older too...I didn't check her age though.

And what's up with Zuko's FACE?!? He's supposed to be MUTILATED.

Oh well. Nothing to do but have faith.

I agree with the first one. At least it's not Jesse McCartney . Anyways, it never really bothers me when characters don't look exactly like their cartoon counterpart. Though why they changed his outfit from red to black . That I don't understand.

My biggest problem is with the fact that Zuko is CUTE, even mangled as he is, and that guy looks like chewed up butt on a stick...not to mention WAY TOO OLD!!!

At least the silly white boy they were gonna have play him was mildly cute and doesn't look 30. <___< If they were gonna get an old guy to play him they should have just gone with none other than Zuko himself:
