Dev Patel doesn't look 30... He's just doesn't resemble Zuko, and he looks WAAAAYYYY to scrawny to be anything close to a Fire-Bending Master.

Exactly the point I was going to make...even though he has a black belt in Tae kwondo, it doesn't really make things better for me.
@Kusachu: Yeah, I only saw the age thing late last night, he's much older than all the other main characters...btw, is Azula in the movie?

Azula won't be in the movie. I think they're going to try to make a trilogy, which means the project will probably die, provided fans of the animated sereies determine ticket sales, before we'll have to worry about who they cast as Azula.

Wait, so you're fine with the original and adaptation not being identical, but you've got a problem with them not wearing the same clothes? Pretty odd logic to me.

Nah, it's just easier imo to get wardrobe more accurate (I mean how hard is it to get the color right) than getting characters to look identical.

Well, I think there's a bit of room to wiggle with wardrobe, but less wiggle room with what a person looks like. I mean, take the X-Men for example. Fanboys and girls said for YEARS that Patrick Stuart would make the perfect Xavier, and they actually got him, and he IS the perfect Xavier. Same as the casting of almost everyone in the movie. Wolverine (Hugh is god of Wolverine and I was against them picking him originally lol), Cyclops, Jean, Colossus, Iceman, Storm (though I have to admit that I thought Halle Berry disgrased Storm with her ineptitude at speaking as Storm does), even Rogue, etc...

All of them actually look almost exactly like what they are supposed to and are similar age-wise and everything. But they don't really wear the traditional X-Men outfits because those would probably look rediculous for the most part.

Or say, let's take Peter Parker for example, he's a nerdy white boy with brown hair; well, don't you think people would have been a little miffed if they cast a blond guy to play him? Or someone who wasn't white?

Or Terry in Spawn. Terry is black. But for some reason in the movie they picked a white guy to play him. Why?? Why on earth would they do that? Was it because they wanted one less black guy in their movie?

It's things like that that really irk me.

Maybe I'm jumping the gun being so annoyed at some of the casting choices for TLA, but until they prove me wrong (like Hugh) I'm probably still going to wrinkle my nose and "Tch." Especially about Zuko, since he was probably my favorite character in the series.

I wanted to go see Star Trek for $5 yesterday but whatever opened Wednesday booted it out of the theater early. Stupid summer movies trying to bank extra on release by opening Wednesday instead of Friday. *torrent of expletives*

Okay, seen Transformers 2 now - and it attempted really to hit all aspects of 'epic'. Attempted.

Cheap shitty humor, horrible script, Shia LaBeof, Megan Fox's ass, flashy effects and rumbling robot. And all the "Join the Army" feeling to it. Oh, and all those hidden commercials.

Overall, it was so horrible it was actually quite hilarious. I laughed my ass of in the climax near the end. "Noooo...ooo!" on slowmotion, tells a lot. In every aspect this was a all action-/teenfilm clichees tied to one package. Damn generic and stupid "You are the chosen one"-bullshit.

We all know Megan fox on a car made millions of $$. the rest is just fodder.

moving on, I watched two movies today and yesterday. Both brilliant, one was "the uninvited", honestly enjoyed it. Usually I'm wary of horror movies but this one was very good.

And the other was "sister of the traveling pants" typical girlie movie, but very touching and the emotion was genuine not "hollywood crap you can never connect with". I cried for the sick lil girl, and I never cry at movies. That should be something.

Great movies .

what Else? Wonder Woman the animation was very nice too.

Most recent crap movies I seen that just left a bad taste in my mouth were:

Twilight - Don't know about the book but the movie was rushed, actors over dramatic, and crappy special effect.

Dragonball: Evolution - Completely destroyed the Dragonball saga.
