Now this is my pet peeve about Ajeel. You bring out the sand vs sand aspect of Scorpio Star dress but really Lucy has always been prepped to fight a sand user.

Spoiler: Why Ajeel vs Lucy should have happened

2. Taurus can absorb sand and use it for an attack.

3. Star Shot took out his Sand Wyverns

4. Her whip is made from water... and he is weak to water.

6. Speaking of water..... Aqua metria vs Ant Lion Pit

**especially when Aqua metria uses water and earth to turn the land into rolling waves of mud.

5. During Capricorn's training on the beach (before she got second origin or her timeskip training), she was pushing back sand with her power alone. It was a technique that her mother was taught too in order to increase her stamina. How awesome to delve into Capricorn, Layla, Lucy, and potentially (the plot device) Anna's history by having Lucy push back the sand with latent celestial training that was foreshadowed back in GMG????

8. Virgo has Earth Magic

9. In real life, wool clothes can protect against sand... Possibly the only valid reason for Aries's magic the entire series

10. Horologium's shield has been established to be OP since Edolas and Tenrou.

11. Would get to see the current level of Urano Metria

12. Gemini could copy someone like Juvia or Levy. Well Gemini could also turn into Lucy. How awesome for a fight where someone copies themselves and instantly knows what the other copy would do? Gemini can also fly and torpedo material like in the Flare battle.

13. Taurus Star Dress's Earthwave

14. Everyone wanted to see CSK in battle again

15. Loke is light. Erza used an armor that was based on LIGHT to signal Bisca's shot
Loke's SOS light signal for everyone to shoot

16.Sagittarius star dress would be just as affective as this move of Erza's.

17. Pair Lucy with someone who would be a good partner for her to fight with
A. Lucy + Mira

• Lucy idolized Mira since Chapter 1.
• They do the Mysteries of Fairy Tail together.
• Lucy cried upon seeing Mira in Avatar after returning to the guild.
• Lucy always is seen talking to Mira at the bar.
• They have never fought together.
• If Wendy and Erza can fight together based on a scene from OS and the fact that Erza needed Dragon Slaying Magic enchanted into her; Lucy and Mira could have teamed up against someone weak like Ajeel (who's not even on Irene's level) and have a logical win without any plot devices thrown in.

B. Lucy + Juvia

• Both water mages.
• Have fought previously in ToH together.
• Can multiply their attacks by doing unison raids.

C. Lucy + Elfman

• More believable pairing of beating @Emperor Spriggan's crew than Elfman + Lisanna

D. Lucy + Wendy

• This may seem weird since Wendy fought so much but Wendy only supported. Lucy could have supported Wendy with her hax celestial magic while Wendy used Dagon force for the final blow.

E. Lucy + Yukino

• Yukino has not using her magic since Grand magic games
• Her two spirits Libra and Pisces would be perfect for sand. Libra using gravity to keep Azir's sand body stationary, while Pisces's human form could turn his sand into water for Lucy to use Aquarius star dress with

18. Give Capricorn star dress something more than "His glasses protect me from eye attacks." That's pure laziness Mashima

19. Lucy never got pushed passed her limit; any time she started to fight, immediately PiS happened and a third party would interrupt. Azir would be one of the few Spriggans she could legit hold up to without some plot device whisking her away.

• Lucy vs Jacob..... Natsu appeared even though she should be able to dodge the knives. Expecially when this fight could have easily been Lucy, Cana, and Makarov vs Jacob.
• Lucy vs Brandish.... Dimaria appeared.
• Natsu and Lucy vs August..... Irene's U1 interrupted..... Natsu and Lucy vs August would have been Elle and Haru vs Shakuma. It would have been better than Gildarts and Cana vs August.

20. Because like you said.... Did Erza need 4 battles this arc? And if you look at the meaning of each fight....

• Erza vs Azir (to hype the arc)
• Erza vs Neinhart/Historia (to show Erza's mental strength vs her ghosts and to establish an eye inheritance with Irene)
• Erza vs Irene (Mother and Daughter)
• Erza vs Dragon Acnologia (Because she's Erza)

Fighting to hype the arc is the weakest reason to fight as the Spriggans already had hype. In fact, Erza struggling against Azir just makes her wins against Irene and her pushing Acnologia down in the same arc, look like more of an asspull.

That's a pretty well-written in-depth analysis of Lucy right there. I completely agree with you that Lucy is more than capable to take down Ajeel. That fight would have made a lot more sense than what we actually got in the manga.

And you brought up some really good points such as Taurus being able to absorb/reflect sand spells, the Earthwave attack, and Lucy's Cancer Star Dress blades. Some of which I even forgot myself.



The moment I saw Lucy casually shoot down all of Ajeel's Sand Wyverns at the start of Alvarez Arc, I knew that she would easily win if it came down to a match between them. The fact that she only needed one shot to eradicate those flying wyverns just shows the difference in power between those 2.

Contrary to popular opinion, I find Ajeel's Sand World to be one of the most overrated spells in the series. Lucy could literally oneshot Ajeel with her eyes closed by using a high-caliber spell like Urano Metria, which has a wide-range AoE.



Regarding Erza, I couldn't agree more.

She had way too many spotlights and opportunities in the last arc, most of which ended up being completely wasted. And the ridiculous part is that she was still greedy for more when we were down to the last few chapters.

Lucy having a solo fight against a decent Spriggan isn't too much to ask, in my personal opinion.



I find it funny that many people believe that villains are the ones "nerfed" by the plot.

Lucy, Mira, and Minerva are the ones who are really "nerfed", not the Spriggans.

PiS isn't always targeting FT's enemies. Sometimes, even the characters inside FT are restricted by PiS...

The problem with lucy in this arc is that she had no fight for her in 1 vs 1.

It is the opposite of erza in fact, erza had full of combat and ended up in a critical state.

La or lucy had no fighting for her and is the most fit at the end of the bow because very little of hurting.

These only true blunder is Jacob that he made him with his whip.

Dimaria did not torture her.

So that to be honest I think Lucy could run Ajeel like say above.

Neihart saw that he does not seem to be really a fighter and that the historia would not have walked on lucy, because she fought nobody who died so apart from Jude and Layla I see no one.

And Jacob, his will have done as the fight Jacob vs mira.

In short it's a shame because lucy has become so versatile, she has plenty of capacity for the fight now.

So as I have already said I hope that in the anime, they will modify that lucy will face neihart in 1 vs 1 and natsu the histories of Zero and Marde.

That against the soldiers it will use its more stardress.

And what will be a little tortured by dimaria.

And if Film 2 restores episode, spin off, episode HS in the anime, there is, what is put more forward.

Lucy should have gotten Ajeel with Bisca while Erza should have stayed with Neinhart. Having Elfman and Lisanna go against would have been more realistic. Lucy was established in Tartaros that she was on par if not more with everyone else.

I did like Mira transforming into Lucy and a tag team with the sword girls would have been interesting.

This happens a lot on shonen: main chick gets sidelined.

All guild should help her with searching this key. She saved them all but if only Natsu and Happy will go with her i will be fine with that.
I think that 10-12 chapters is fine.

I think I would like to involve some kind of short drama where natsu/lucy will face some kind of delinquent, which will lead to even bigger reveal like that guy is working for a bigger gang who somehow has gotten a hand on aquarius key and is plotting something with that. You need to have some fight in that time since there would be no shonen without any fighting. I will give that about 15 chapters.

Fighting to hype the arc is the weakest reason to fight as the Spriggans already had hype. In fact, Erza struggling against Azir just makes her wins against Irene and her pushing Acnologia down in the same arc, look like more of an asspull. I also think I would have like Erza vs Irene more if the whole arc was devoted to setting that up; making their relationship like Silver vs Gray but instead we had Erza thrown at everyone just because she's strong.


Bonus reason: If Aqua metria the combination of Water and UM, what is the combo of Scorpio's sand and UM? If Taurus can combine with both Aries's wool and Scorpio's sand what's stopping UM from combining with Regulus, sand, wool.... etc...

Also, I have a wierd idea of fantasy matchup of tag team with full resurrected END and summoned CSK going on against probably FH zeref. Can you imagine one guy who represents abdominal darkness and other represents light (lucy do represents light) teaming together. That would be FT version of yin and yang. Also there unison raid would be kind of OP.

My second pet peeve of this arc. Besides the miss opportunity of Azir vs Lucy. How the Jacob battle was choreographed way wrong for Lucy's magic and even tho she shined, it nerfed her.

If I make a second post to follow the Azir one but this time about Jacob.... will tag you lmao.

Also I always thought since stars are made of fire.... Lucy and Natsu would have a really epic StarFire unison raid. An END and Celestial king star dress would be awesome as it would be that holy and demonic; light and darkness that Mavis/Zeref and Sting and Rogue had.

What I would also like is that she is a greater involvement with natsu-end.

That when erza stops gray and natsu, gray stops because he has no reason to attack natsu and that natsu loses to him a little the ball and that lucy stops it.

A bit like with melliodas and elisabeth in NNT, it's so much like this that I would have liked to see in FT.

And that during the battle natsu zeref, lucy be more involved, than when she opens the book, natsu becomes a little crazy and more bestial.

And that when she writes in the book, she makes reference with all the time that has passed with natsu since the beginning of the manga.

She writes her feelings in the book.

And I want to see written black and white that they are bound via the book.

That when natsu arrives after his fight against zeref, lucy the enlace relieved to see him alive.

Natsu is more into fighting powerhouses that can hype him to display what he's truly made of. And despite how well she can manage her own, Lucy isn't one who he can test a full display of his strength which he did noted how she really wouldn't warm him up. But if there's none around for him to challenge them he'll make do with somebody else that can at least not really weak and can fight pretty good like her

But with Star dresses, some confidence in her; and a goal to win, Natsu probably would fight her since she's different then she use to be. He would behave to use the baby gloves. Plus he would have to be in control and not fight full out like he would Gray, Erza, or Gajeel.

That's why I envision Lucy attacking Natsu being something fun from her end while he has to be the adult of the two.

Yea that was the other thought I had, especially after reading Hataraku Maori Sama light novels and all the stuff about Leyla saving the demon king when he was a child and a special connection with him, that apparently makes him like Emi's smell (I was reminded of this in the last chapter when Natsu said he liked Anna's smell). Then how Leyla's celestial magic was passed down to her daughter Emi and when she fought the demon king Maou their magic mixed to create Alas=Ramus, their daughter. Emi in her warrior requip also looks just like her mother Leyla. Just like Lucy looks just like Anna/Layla. Cuz in the light novels and Emi is like Lucy. The anime made the character more like a tsundere Erza.

I thought to myself if Layla/Anna passed Lucy on some latent heavenly stuff mix in with the star dressses, she would basically be Emi. Then Natsu would be Maou. Star Dresses requiping would be Emi's half angel requip she does. Then you could have a really big awesome Demon vs Lover battle. Happy would be Alas=Ramus to make them stop fighting. Natsu could regain control seeing Happy and Lucy. Anna could be Leyla, who's watching the outcome to see what happens between Natsu and Lucy to step in if Lucy couldn't handle it.

That would be so awesome.
