I remember a while ago someone compared jerza to sasusaku on here, so I'm just gonna leave this twitter thread I wrote recently explaining how they're not alike because I see this comparison all the time even though it makes no sense.

How can we compare sasusaku and jerza?

They have nothing to do with both.

Jellal was nice at the base, he was manipulated and became mean after doing everything to catch up.

And in addition he refrains from loving erza.

Sasuke children didn't even look at sakura, once in the same team, she didn't get him at all.

After he has tried to kill her, even once he has returned to the light a little, he looks at her no differently.

And in the end he apologizes but does nothing more on his own.

Think about how Rave Master fans felt when Musiica lost Rei but Gray was able to save Juvia. They must have felt that exact feeling. Guess he's trying to out do each series of his. I can only imagine Gray clone kissing his gal first * sigh* Even Edden Zero fans are complaining about this to some extent. I want Gray and Juvia to kiss already, she's been a good gal waiting since her introduction for it to happen LOL.

I'm comparing the situation not the characters. I can imagine them introducing a similar type plot for a certain genius character who I feel is the Gray's clone for that series. Musica and Gray had lost or in Gray's case almost lost the love of their life. Now there's more Rave Masters type writing in his new series so I can imagine her maybe dying meh. I'm just speculating future events.
