So because people cant come up with factoids for you, something is not true? Well it cant be helped that i am not a walking wiki. Im not here to argue with tons of evidence for everything i say. Its established long ago that Lisanna wasnt ment to be back, (yet or in the fashion she did) Usually thats due to influence outside of the author himself. Because if he wanted her back then he would have said so himself.
Also drawing fun sketches with characters doesnt mean someone really likes or dislikes a character or if that character should in any way be included anywhere. Thats you making that up by yourself.
As a matter of fact, yes, if someone cannot come up with a source for a claim, it's nothing more than a rumor, and can be disregarded as not true. This would hardly be the first time this happened in Fairy Tail's run.
For example, the old claim that Mashima was a former assistant to Oda. People kept repeating this claim, without ever verifying it. When placed under actual scrutiny, it turned out that Mashima had never been an assistant to anyone, much less Oda. That could have been easily deduced from various afterwards he'd written over the years, but no one bothered and the rumor wasn't killed until his US publisher said something.
I've already covered how the rumor "The anime director asked him to bring back Lisanna/made him bring back Lisanna" is not supported by actual interviews.
Next up is a fairly big one that made the rounds a while back, and is still making the rounds as a matter of fact. A bold claim that Mashima had announced the official pairings, and that all anime filler was written by him, except filler involving Lisanna. You can see an example of it
here. The claim has numerous flaws to it, and sure enough as you can see if you look through the comments, it ended up tracing it's way back to the mangafox forums and someone holding forth their speculation as fact, then had it repeated by others as a fact.
The most recent example is from when Mashima was in Barcelona in 2012. After a flurry of claims along the lines of "Hiro Mashima reveals NaLu's Child" and "- When asked about the possibility of Natsu and Lucy ending up together, Mashima responded by revealing the name of their child; Nashi", someone posted a translation of
the actual interview. Sure enough, once you looked at the relevant section, the claims were vastly overblown:
"RP2: We'd like to know, in the hypothetical case in which Natsu and Lucy ended together, have you thought any time of the names for their children?
HM: I don't know what to say, I have never thought about it (laughter). But, without a doubt, it would be Nashi."
It was a hypothetical raised by the interviewer, and Mashima had given it no thought, but came up with a name on the spot. Those of you with some familiarity with Japanese may notice he simply did the same things he did with Asuka. Take the first part of the father's name, the last part of the mother's name, and combine them. So again, another bold rumor not supported by actual fact.
So as you can see, without any solid supporting evidence, the claim that Mashima's editor forced him to bring back Lisanna is just another rumor. Particularly as it follows the same pattern as some of the others. Someone
claims the editor made Mashima bring Lisanna back, someone questions it,
the person making the claim says it was in an interview, and will try to find it. And that's the end of it, the supposed interview is never found.
So no, it's not a matter of being a walking wiki. It's just a matter of providing the most basic real support for a claim. If the interview in which Mashima supposedly said his editor forced him to bring Lisanna back actually exists, it should not be that difficult to find. Either you should have been able to re-find it, or someone else should have found it a while ago making it even easier to find. That it can't be located, and searches turn up nothing more than unsubstantiated claims on forums and social media is rather telling.
As for the sketches, actually, if you don't like a character, you tend to not draw them, and if you like them, you tend to draw them. Especially when you're drawing just for fun, not for any particular point. If you've been forced to include a character against your will in a series, it stands to reason that you would not be particular fond of them, and thus not sketch them. That Mashima's sketched Lisanna half a dozen times, including entirely off the cuff things like
this, suggest that he has no problem with the character he's supposedly been "forced" to include in the series. Which in turn suggests that it was not forced like people like to claim.
That Lisanna likely wasn't originally planned to be brought back is not particularly relevant either. Mashima's original goal for the series was a mere 10 volumes. Things change, and there's no reason to assume this particular change was something forced by Mashima's editor, rather than something Mashima decided on his own.
So again, sans any genuine evidence like an interview, the claim that Mashima's editor forced him to retcon Lisanna's death is nothing more than a rumor. One that's following the same structure as several previous rumors that turned out to be inaccurate at best, and made up out of whole cloth at worst.
Furthermore, stop and ask, why would Mashima editor force him to retcon Lisanna's death? It's not like she had a large fanbase before or afterwards, clamoring for the change. If it was a personal liking on the editor's part, you would expect her to get much more significant panel time, as the editor continued to ask for her inclusion in more than minor roles. So the claim "Mashima's editor made him do it" does not add up well.
