Find the posts in this thread or section, all I remember is someone shipping them together. I don't mind too much with whom Natsu ends up with as long as it's done well. So far, the end pairing, if it even exists, for Natsu is really up for grabs until he actually reciprocates Lucy's feelings, assuming she has romantic feelings.

Hell, do we know 100% for sure that Gray has romantic feelings for Juvia? He didn't admit it yet as far as I know

Saying "I would never hurt a comrade, NO, I would never hurt YOU" and swearing to protect her "no matter what the cost" basically confirmed that Juvia is a lot more than a friend. It wasn't a confession for obvious reason, Gray has still an answer to give her.

(Gray's actions in 499 spoke more than an essay of cheesy romantic words, imho)

Gray has had romantic feelings for a while and Mashima even made it sure to call their card for the exhibition "Autumn of Romantic love". Not even subtle lol

I'm not saying Gray and Juvia won't be a thing, but we're all assuming it will be or it is already when Gray has yet to give his answer. He can consider Juvia his closest friend and still not be romantically interested in her. Didn't Gajeel and Levy confess to each other, or at least confess that they love each other somehow? We know Jellal and Erza love each other, but as far as they know, they can't be together. We know Juvia loves Gray, and Lucy likely has feelings for Natsu, but Natsu has shown no interest in her like that while Gray hasn't outright confessed or made it clear he loves Juvia as well.

I like Gray and Juvia, before you accuse me of being a "haterz!!!!"

I'm not saying Gray and Juvia won't be a thing, but we're all assuming it will be or it is already when Gray has yet to give his answer. He can consider Juvia his closest friend and still not be romantically interested in her. Didn't Gajeel and Levy confess to each other, or at least confess that they love each other somehow? We know Jellal and Erza love each other, but as far as they know, they can't be together. We know Juvia loves Gray, and Lucy likely has feelings for Natsu, but Natsu has shown no interest in her like that while Gray hasn't outright confessed or made it clear he loves Juvia as well.

I just said that 499 pretty much confirmed what you want to read in capital letters.
Words aren't the only means to show you love someone, anyway. The action of suicide did for it and there's a reason why their actions are mirrored. And you know why Juvia did it... Gray himself even said why he was mirroring her.

Hahahaha I get it, and I can understand. Fyi, when the chapter came out most of the fans were salty for the same reason (me included), but then I remembered that Gray is more of an action type, rather than words and so on. Idk, I think it fits his character better (considering his past, the fact he doesn't even show his feelings to friends like in Galuna arc, or that he became and is pretty much a closed up guy after the Ur mess) that's why I am now satisfied with 499 and I am not even expecting a big ass confession about how much he does love her forever and ever.... lmao

Joking aside, "clearer" / official words from Gray would be really, really nice. Point is, if those aren't there for the answer but actions are instead it's pretty okay for me, as a fan and somebody who tries to be logical about it (pfft.....)

I'll punch Gray in the dick if he confesses like that (in my mind anyway). If anything, his answer should be "let's get married" or something, just be short and simple. He has nothing to prove after 499 to us or anyone, and we see how batshit crazy he went when he thought Juvia was dead to how calm he is now after knowing she's alive.

Actions can go either way, but words clear it up. If someone goes very far to protect you to the point that he's willing to shish kebob himself for your sake, would you think he loves you as a friend/sibling, or that he loves you romantically? Things may suggest romantically, but even then, it doesn't go far, so who knows?

It's why I prefer Gray's words to make it clear it's romantic love.

In a very Japanese sense and a very Gray sense (the dude who didn't even tell his friends about his past after what...10 years?), it's supposed to be clear that it's romantic love.

The thing that made Gray go the most ballistic in the entire series was his girl "dying". Mr. Frostypants, who tends to be one of the more analytical and emotionally closed characters, went on a bloodlusty, teary-eyed rage then passed out when he saw her alive.

Suffice to say, most of us would punch Gray if he didn't give the words to at least drive the point home clearly. He will, probably in Gray's way, after the war given that Mashima felt it important enough to devote panels to him promising an answer. And, as you said, it's probably going to be super simple and straight forward like "marry me".

Weren't you the one who asked if it was confirmed Gray loves Juvia? That post was your answer.

Here's the important bit:

Gray: "(I don’t want to hurt) my comrade(s)… No… I don’t want to hurt you. That’s why I…“

“Nakama wo… Iya… Omae wo kizutsuketakunai” <- He starts to say “comrade”, but then corrects himself (he actually says “no”), indicating Juvia is more than a comrade. That is why the original spoilers state that Gray sees Juvia as more than a friend.

The direct word-order translation would be "A friend... no... you I didn't want to hurt."

If you would actually read it you would understand: Yes, Gray loves Juvia romantically and it is confirmed in the Japanese raw. The post goes in depth about Japanese sentence structure and what Gray actually said. It wasn't just his actions that showcased his love, it was his words as well. Speaking of his actions, Gray's mirrored Juvia's because Hiro wanted to make it evident that they share the same exact feelings.

So again, Gruvia is indeed 100% confirmed two sided. As thatsvicchan pointed out, Hiro even drew a postcard of them (likely on a date) with the words "Autumn of romantic love". Not even Gajevy got it that blatant in the exhibition.

FYI, he wouldn't make Juvia wait for a "no".

But it doesn't. Not every canon couple has a confession. Gruvia already has way more than that. Why do you think Hiro chose to have Gray's actions mirror Juvia's? Because they share the same feelings. This shouldn't even be a debate at this point.

But if you want to get technical then Gray *did* "confess" via Japanese text, in his own wording.

I honestly don't see what's wrong with this. It's not like FT is real life, and Natsu is a derptard anyway. Seems like she's overreacting over a manga page. But at least she's not a deluded Natsu-Lucy fan, so that's a plus. I guess.

But it doesn't really need to be acknowledged, not as much as Natsu touching Lucy's milk bags whenever he gets a chance. That's way worse, tbh.

I do respect @Nemispelled for keeping the faith with that ship. If it weren't for Gruvia being canon (to me anyways), I would endorse GrayMi as well. A few things fit together nicely. Not that relationships are about matching things together... just it could be good is all.

Mira x Laxus or Mira x Freed are my favourite Mira crack ships.
