The problem with calling Natsu a pervert is that none of his "sexual assaults" are ever sexually motivated. He knows that Lucy doesn't like it when he does these things to her, but his understanding of WHY she doesn't like it doesn't extend past mere annoyance. He view them as just him messing around with Lucy or having a bit of fun; the sexual implication is barely there for him (if even there at all).

Sexually motivated or not, it's still perverted. It's creepy and sad that fans try to defend sexual assault. If Natsu really wanted to tease Lucy, he can find others ways to do so without touching her boobs.

I agree, Natsu's personality is an advantage to Lucy because she can blame him for being the perverted one in the relationship, without Natsu taking any offence to that remark. Since she feels pretty shy towards romance, it's always better for her to blame Natsu, who wouldn't know what he was blamed for.

I guess that's why Natsu x Lucy has such a large fanbase. It seems that people prefer relationships with the guy being more dense than the girl.

Nah, I'm sure it's because both are main characters whom we've seen together constantly. They could be so wrong for each other and still be paired by majority of fans, mostly. At least in this case they're not wrong for each other, much.

As I said, touching the breast area or buttocks area regardless of gender can be sexual assault. You can say whatever you want, but it's sexual assault, and using this to justify or defend the pairing is not only reaching, but horrible logic.

It depends on the circumstance, and in this case I don't think it's fair to classify it as so, especially since like @Axiomus said, he doesn't go out of his way to do it. And I never attempted to use this to justify or defend the pairing, I just think it's completely absurd to use this to label Natsu a terrible immoral person who sexually abuses anyone he pleases.
