Laxus returned to the manga this week. He might be all nakama-focused, but what about his romance?

Firmly implied that he's a player and/or won't ship with any of the remaining suitors in FT in 545. With Lucy, Juvia and Erza all shipped (imo) there's only Mira and Cana left.

I can't support those ships anymore because:

• Hiro has illustrated so;
• It wouldn't be fair on Mirajane (the only one I ship with Laxus there) to have to wait for Laxus to want to settle down;
• Lisanna;
• Another Laxus ship has my attention.

And, given Laxus won't pick Mira, there's no one else who he's met that should in a peaceful setting that I could ship with him. Which is all the other best girls in Fiore.

Co-incidence? I think not:

• Laxus saves Touka;
• Brandish saves Gray.

Why would they even meet?

Unless Brandish leaves us soon (which is a plausible reality) it's very likely Laxus and Brandish will finally meet in amiable circumstances. Remember this...

Right there is a conversation starter between Laxus and Brandish. Possible small talk about coats, then I imagine Laxus thanking Brandish for all the lives she's saved, given how guild-minded and forgiving he is. After that it's anyone's guess. I obviously support this, it'd be the hottest ship by a country mile.

I really wonder if Laxus and Mira are going to actually be a thing. Honestly, Mashima needs to just spend a few chapters and make all the ships canon.

I would love if they were a thing. I will confess though, I'd abandon that if either found a better partner. But it's hard to deny they feel and come across as more romantic than the fanmade ship.


Also, I can now understand how Gray before he fell in love with Juvia felt at first, when the love was one sided. Granted it's a joke, but my coworker's like that, and others are joking around about it. Fuckers. <_<

Just realized the last 2 chapter covers have been pretty much the main couples going on dates. Will bet comfortably that the next chapter cover will either be Gajeel and Levy or Jellal and Erza on a date.

Jerza and Gajevy day were made up by the west but Hiro still went with it. Pretty cool.

Definitely nice how Hiro recognizes the main pairings.
