I'm waiting to see when it'll be day/night in which version before I pick. Worked out pretty nicely last time with Moon, it was always nice and bright at the evening hours I played.

Anyone playing this? I’m actually pretty surprised by how much the storyline of S/M and US/UM are alike. I’m not that far yet but at this point nothing really stands out.

So they just announced that Ryan Reynolds is going to play the main character in the Detective Pikachu live-action movie. Don't know if the film will be amazing or hilariously bad.

Apparently this is actually gonna be a full RPG. I ain't played Pokemon since like the first generation.. the red, blue and green days. Never even got into the Pokemon Go hype but if this Pokemon Lets go takes us back to the first generation then I'll definitely be giving it a try for the nostalgia.

Yeah, but also a new core game is coming 2019. Game that's more usual Pokemon and less like Go. (Presumably).

Well, honestly not that much has changed since the first gen. Sure more monsters, new places and better graphics, but essentially the core is the same still. Some new gameplay mechanics, which over all are pretty minor, every gen has it'
quirk. Seems actually great game to return for a nostalgy blast.

I'm likely to go Pikachu, since apparently the starter won't evolve if the articles hold true. Depends on the other version exclusives though. Would be cool if mons other that Pikachu and Eevee have voice acting, but really doubt it. Such a huge task to pull off. I do not want voice acting for human characters though. In these sort games voice acting is usually just annoying, as it slows down the gaming. The cutscenes or dialogue must be super good for voice acting to be interesting.

The models look like they could be tweaked models from Go, so that could indicate up to 3rd gen could be unlocked in after game or something?

I can sort of understand frustration. Sure for many this can be welcome flashback and good for the new generations of players, but for some of the fan base this could be like 6th to 8th trip to Kanto depending on view point. Fans of the 4th and 5th gens are kinda bummed waiting for their remake even longer.

Still, it is kinda pointless whining. Kanto is great and Kanto is popular. Let's Go could aim to bring the Go audience to Switch and re-introduce them into mainline games, and in that sense Kanto is the best to tickle the nostalgy senses of the current 25-35 year olds. And bring their kids as well.

The game is nice and has good nostalgia in it, but your starter is just way too OP and gets access to way too many OP moves, which removes a lot of the challenge from it. I still think I would have preferred a game featuring Gen 1&2, but I guess they're in no rush to remake their entire catalogue for Switch. I wouldn't be shocked if we got a similar game for Gen2 after the new game next year.

I don't know, I'm actually struggling with the leveling up. I've been removing the strongest members of the team with some that needed to be evolved to fill the dex as it goes, now to the point that the ace trainers are whipping the floor with me.

But I also havent fed any of my pokes a single candy yet, nor did I teach my Chipmunk a single of those OP tutor moves. Meaning, you always have a choice how much struggle you wanna have. So honestly don't get that complaint.
