I bought OmegaRuby today but won't play it until I finish Crystal.

Crikey, Gen II was so good, and I can't wait to play HeartGold.

Welp, found a 640~ CP poliwag the other day. Figured it was pretty high overall since it was raining. Threw a berry at it, then it ran away. Then I checked and the highest possible poliwag you can find in the wild with a weather boost has 646 CP. It was nearly perfect and would have required no investment on my part stardust wise and it ran away. It annoys me because I really like poliwrath =_=

On the upside, I FINALLY evolved a 100% cp larvitar I caught back in early 2018. Or maybe it was 2017? Unfortunately I don't have the larvitar candies level it past 2410 cp. I guess I will have the candies for that by 2022.....

What do you guys use for master league pvp? One of my top performers in general is gyarados but some aspects of the meta still elude me. My top pokemon in the league are a couple gyarados, mewtwo, dragonite, metacross... I also have a high cp raikou. I also have machamp, heracross, golem and alakazam but I don't use them as often. My charizard works surprisingly well (blast burn and dragon claw) but is a tad irregular. I have an excellent gengar but he doesn't do as much damage as he should to be viable IMO. Sucker punch is a disappointment and hex does not perform much better apparently.

Finally hit level 30, and I found a wild shiny magnemite somehow. I saw people speculating that they weren't even in the game at the moment.

Also, I refuse to believe that Ho-Oh and Lugia can even be got in Research, it has to be bugged.

I got a ho-oh last month... But the lugia still eludes me. Unfortunately other than that I have only obtained raikous and moltres. At least the legendaries you get in this are low enough to be of use in the 1500 cp pvp and at the most require just one level up.

But really, what are the chances that my last 3 pulls are going to be Articuno - Lugia - Ho-Oh..... not high. Hopefully they keep Lugia and Ho-Oh for March. Could be, they are eventually running out of pokemon. They certainly realize events happen at a faster rate than they can possibly release or make new pokemon anyways. Its still years away of course but eventually pokemon go will be all caught up with the games. I kinda hope they release the regis at least this year for breathroughs.

A lot of the changes and additional move choices seem focused on countering the strongest Dragon/Fairy pokemon and making choices that are weaker than they should be more viable. I would have expected giratina to have been a powerhouse in lower leagues but not quite the master league. Are there any particularly strong fairy type pokemon? As far as I know most fairies are lackluster. With the main exception being gardevoir. Cleafable is a weird choice for master league even if I can picture it doing well in the lower leagues due to its typing and high hp/defense. Fairies ultimately need a decent fairy fast move and afaik there isn't any.

Personally I think pkmg needs to rework the entire cp system. The formula makes it so that the attack stat has unnecessary weight in the final cp value. Meaning that the attack stat is almost a drag in the lowest league. And can be inconvenient when fitting the most stats possible in the ultra league.

And I remain thoroughly annoyed that we have basically two combat systems in one game. It is just... stupid.

As for the changes, most of them seem reasonable. A few are just weird to me though. Psyshock ninetales is.... dunno. shadow ball is an overall good attack for raikou and any pokemon really but I feel they really need to give discharge to raikou. Maybe they don't do that so as to not make jolteon completely obsolete though. Flamethrower, thunderbolt and ice beam getting standarized alongside with the punch moves makes sense though. Bite salamence is interesting.

Snarl alola muk seems interesting. I guess with the new changes my biggest issue will be powering up pokemon so as to keep up with the meta... But I am not optimistic about that for the time being. By the time I catch up there will likely be a new meta.

Just saw the notification for the new event, it seems interesting. Pokemon with increased spawn rates include dratini, those are always welcomed... And the double xp for evolving is also very welcomed since it has been a while.

I guess they went for a chinese zodiac theme, except I'm not sure what Electabuzz is supposed to represent? Tiger? That's the only one missing but... Guess it's useful for Pokedex filling and maybe if you can get an Electivire.

It's the backpacks. They seem lower quality than the rest of the animation for some reason. At least it looked like that to me. I guess the graphics are not quite finished yet.

Those are weird looking now that you mention it... But I was talking about the part with the starters. They made a point to say "Not Actual Game Footage" in that part, so that might have something to do with it looking off compared to the rest of it though, nvm.

The leaks/rumors were completly true. They even predicted the announcement day right. British inspired region. Grass monkey, fire bunny and water lizard. Only thing they didn't get right were the names.

I like the starters overall a lot, Scorbunny standing out the most for me. The running, long legs and the nose plaster make think it might evolve into a football player Pokemon though. There were definite football feels in the trailer overall too, with the grassy huge stadium and the player in the sporty shorts.

Bit disappointed, that it seems like random encounters are back. That's the one feature I wanted from Let's Go to the main series.
