I'm big on role-playing games, so thought I'd make this a thread of its own for all RPG lovers.

What are your favorite RPGs? Are you playing any at the moment? Are you waiting for any good ones?

(Also as a side question for all Final Fantasy lovers, what's your favorite FF game?)

I love RPG's and generally will play whatever I can get my hands on. Currently I am playing thru Dragon Quest 8, but it is taking me forever due to the fact that I wander thru most of the game dirt poor. =(

I am anxiously awaiting to play Tales of Legendia since the last tales games I played was Tales of Symphonia....and I absolutly loved that one.

As for Final Fantasy...I love FF3 (or 6 depending on the version that you are using) and FF8.

I don't own a Sony console and I'm not very big on PC games...so the number of RPGs I can play is quite limited My favorites are Phantasy Star Online, Chrono Trigger, Tales of Symphonia, Fire Emblem 9, Shining Force, and Ogre Battle 64.

I didn't mind FF8, but my favorite is FF6, like Tammy's.

Right now my absolute favorite RPG would be Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn for the PC though ( with the Throne of Bhaal expansion ).

Right now I am re-playing Final Fantasy V, kinda anxious for FF XII to get here in America.

I played the naruto rpg for gameboy advance eventhough I don't know japanese. It was fun because I hacked it so that Rock Lee had chakra and unlocked all 8 celestial gates and even more gates that shouldn't even exist.

i love rpg's and theres load out there i enjoy playing and you guys said some of them already, so i'll add one more to the list that i dont believe no-one else would say, POKEMON, yes those childish games for some odd reason hit a cord with me, to be honest i only like the originals red and blue, or the remade versions fire red and leaf green.

Yup, Pokemon games were in my opinion the one of the best GBA games ever...

I didn't mind FF8, but my favorite is FF6, like Tammy's.

FF3 was definitely the best of the series. I spent sooo many long months on that game lol.
Fire Emblem 6 Fuuin no Tsurugi, Fire Emblem 7 are also really good ^^
For some reason, I always prefered FE over pokemon.

In FF8, I remember that I liked Rinoa and the sorceress, they were wicked sick. FF7 was good too, but I got tired of moving around everywhere at the last cd so I quit that game.

i think pokemon fire red and leaf green are now one of my all time favourite rpgs.

i cant wait for exams to be over, i just want to get my hands on the new elder scrolls game, and waste many great hours on it.

and i never understood the greatness of final fantasy games, i though they were ok, nothing major, but thats just my opinion, but i must say i did used to love FF7 but times change.

Right now I'm replaying Grandia 2 and dreaming of elder scrolls 4 :/ though I shouldn't buy because I should be studying during my free time cause I've got some exams coming up.

I only have a pc, no console so I have problem with getting the cool japanese rpgs which are mostly only for ps2 or xbox or whatever.

My favourite rpg's were FF 7 and 8 (although 7 was better in times of storytelling) and Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic 1 (2 was kinda lame...not very interesting...hell...I was so disappointed.)

I also played Neverwinter Nights which is some kind of sequel to Baldur's Gate II but it wasn't that good IMO. Nice but not awesome.

FF7, KotOR series (2 was good up until the end), Chrono Trigger, X-Men Legends II and TESIV: Oblivion are all very much <3.

Final Fantasy 7, 8 (a lot better) and 5 GOSH I wish they'd make 5 in 3d just like 7 or 8. It was quite emotional despite the inferior graphical details compared to other successors! I admit I was a pokemon freak (I did manage to collect all 151 pokemon including mew) during my "prime" years and Pokemon "Yellow" was my treasure. Now I'm more into other RPG's, awaiting for the FF12! Mario RPG was fun too (both the NDS and the Super Nintendo)!
