i dunno. Maybe king would get so upset at losing his best friend again, he throws a rampage against the culprit similar to that of titan-Eren against the titans, or Simon from gurren-lagann against the beastmen after Kamina died. Or even like Mustang from FMAB against Envy. I'm certainly courious to how this all plays out.

now that we've seen the commandments feed on souls... Who is save from them? The only one I could imagine not getting his soul sucked immediately is King, and that is only because he has Helbram, who might sacrifice his own soul.
Helbram is already dead and can communicate with King only through his cask, he's unable to do anything. I doubt this will be a fighting move anyway, souls of strong people should not be easy to extract.

I think it's less likely for them to take Mel's soul because he is a demon as well. Also gowther is their worst enemy as he doesn't have a soul since he is just a doll. Even Ban might be a bit safe because he is immortal?
As for king, how will Helbram sacrifice his soul when he can't even be seen in the first place? He doesn't seem to exist in this world anymore.
Gowther might be immune to it but not Ban, he is immortal but he still has a soul, empty shells are not really dead but they are not alive either as said by Gil IIRC, if Ban's soul is extracted his body will stay immobile forever without rot.

My thoughts:

1. No, Meliodas is not the Demon King, that much should be obvious.
2. I think it's going to turn out that Meliodas, Zeldris, Estarossa, and Ass Girl are the Demon King's children.
3. I'm not really going to make a comment about what each of their commandments could be because I generally suck at that.
4. I don't quite understand this Meliodas has a "true" demon form. Nothing has implied that this isn't what he actually looks like, that shadow from chapter 28 or 29 was very clearly not supposed to be taken literally, it was just ther to represent that Meliodas is more than he seems, i.e. he's actually a demon. On that front, it's also doubtful that Meliodas is half demon.

Hey, I just realized something. We keep hearing that the demons were too much for the humans, the fairies, the giants and the goddesses combined. But were they really? Because there are factors that point to the opposite. For example, the red demon. That guy wasn't that strong. Sure, he was fighting a sin and another 3 powerful holy knights. But Griamor, Gil and Howzer never used a combined attack and it looked like each could have easily defeated him. And the gray demon was easily stopped by purge, proving that in a lot of cases effects don't need to match the power of the target, just be enough to show compatibility. Like with Mel using Full Counter against Albion. Or perfect cube against Galan. And let's not forget hellblaze, which even if used by a low rank demon was able to damage something like the holy tree more because of effect than power. Yeah, the ten commandments are strong, but it is suggested that it may partly be power they extract from human souls, and not really their own power. A similar concept was used with Helbram and Ban. While Helbram "borrows" power and abilities instead of having his own like he "borrowed" the eyepatch-guy's appearance and killing methods, Ban "steals" power and abilities, like when he stole (and still steals) whatever he wants. It's not the only instance where a relatively common and simple ability becomes one's special ability. Wall is nothing but an advanced shield, which has been shown others can use too, just in different ways. Perfect cube and
Pollen Garden for example. So Helbram's and Ban's abilities working in a different way than a common spell that can be learned by at least one race doesn't seem that farfetched to me. In fact the ten commandments appearantly don't have any developped abilities, truth was literally given to him. And the fact that Meliodas, one of the supposedly strongest demons in the past has the same minimum as other members of supposedly weaker races? In fact, I suspect that 26000 isn't really Galan's minimum power. He probably sucked out a lot of souls while on his way to Camelot.

NO, no no! They dont have their magic power and they discovered that eating human souls can restore it. Galans 26k power is his power without magic. They need humans souls to get their magic back. The same was for Red demon and Ash demon. Red demon was several times weaker than in Bans flashbacks.

that wouldn't make any sense. They could eat human souls long ago too, so they would have already known from before. And who says magic is the only thing you can take from a soul? And the 0 magic thing doesn't proove anything, as somehow truth still worked. Ban didn't really need immortality to defeat the rdd demon. Had he known that demons have 2 hearts he would have been able to quickly get the 2nd heart as it was shown that the demon was very slow. We never saw ash demon fight apart from that one time, so I assume those two can't eat souls, only collect them. And if they NEED human souls to restore their magic power, it just means that I am right, as most characters would only need to rest. And Meliodas by that logic should be even stronger than Galan, unless he released all his souls and only fought with his own power, and yet he still has more magic than Galan. And if the time in the seal really was the cause for them to get weaker, how come Mel, who wasn't sealed, is so much weaker? I doubt Nakaba would throw an enemy that powerful right at the beginning of a new arc at us if there wasn't some catch to it. Even Zeldris didn't want Galan to be careless, despite the most powerful being they perceived so far being King at 11000 which is less than half of Galan's power. The vampire king knew about the demons' power, and yet he still thought he could turn on them. He must have known something. My guess is, without souls they are stronger than the sins, but not excessively so. I even have a theory of why Meliodas wasn't sealed. And it's not as simple as 'he betrayed his own clan'. I think it's the exact opposite. He was trying to protect the demons in a war that they were LOSING and offered to watch over the human world if instead of killing the demons the other clans just sealed them away. 2980 years later a red demon appeared and Fraudrin probably came with him too. We have seen that one of the commandments can create portals, that was probably the way he escaped the seal.

When Galan came, Merlin sensed something wrong and when Hawk checked with the eye of Balor, Galan's magic was 0. We also had the commandments state that they needed to rest and recuperate since they were weakened and drained due to the seal. Whatever the implication of their magic being 0 means, we know that Galan wasn't at full power and this was thanks to the seal. He didn't stop to eat human souls and also, the demons waged war against 4 clans (and barely lost). Granted they had the vampires at their side, but the other side had 4 major clans ganging up. I don't really see why we should think the demons and commandments are weaker than they should be. Galan categorically says Mel has gotten weaker. Zeldris alone was sent to kill the entirety of the vampires and he could have done so but simply spared them.
Zeldris might have told Galan to be cautious but Galan decided to go anyway and we know he had confidence in himself even though he had not fully recovered which proves that his PL was the same then. There's also the fact that the demons could accurately pinpoint the PL and even nature of attacks that defeated the albions despite being very far away.

I think you are missing the point here. Sure, gilthunder, hauser and griamor had a relatively easy time with the red demon and the grey demon put up more of a fight but was defeated by purge... But you are forgetting that red and grey demons are by far the weakest demons in the demon clan. And there is a chance that their magic power was also pretty low, the red demon they just fought did not seem quite as powerful as the one ban fought. Gilthunder, hauser, griamor and dreyfus are not foot soldiers, they are among the strongest holy knights in the strongest military power in britania. There are only a few other holy knights who are in their league in liones altogether. The minimum for a holy knight is 300 PL... How do you think a foot soldier from the demon clan compares to a foot soldier from the humans? As it is now humans are on all accounts vastly outmatched by demons.

I didn't say that his magic level wasn't 0, I know what Hawk said. But I don't think magic can really be measured that easily. Despite Hawk's claim Truth still worked. And I didn't say he actually STOPPED for souls, I'm saying that while running/jumping he took souls on his way there like a robber takes an old woman's purse:in a quick motion but not for a second halting and keeping on running. Also, souls might give them more than magic, they probably give them strength and spirit too.Zeldris was sent to kill the vampires, but he might have been filled to the brim with souls at the time, so it is easily explainable. As for the pinpoint location, so far only 3 did it, Galan not included, and that doesn't really say anything about their power-level. What I'm saying is, even if the demons really were the strongest race in the past, the difference was probably smaller than we think and the other 4 races while individually weaker, more than overpowered them when combined, turning the tables. And I'm only theorycrafting, not saying 'this totally gonna happen'.

I know they are 3 of britania's strongest HK. And I know that the red and gray demons are so far the weakest demons. I never said a FOOT soldier would be able to take them down, that's retarded! I said high rank holy knights were able to take the down with relative ease. At least the red demon. And I seriously don't see why the red demon from 20 years ago seemed stronger to you.

Well, the goddess should be worthy rivals and are possibly on par or very close to power with the demons. Everything is pretty clear though, the commandments stated that the clans all fought for the magic power back then. It was also said that said magic power now simply runs in humans which basically implies that while humans got stronger, the others simply got weaker and not only that, since the power is distributed among vast humans (even random ones), the PL as a whole are weaker. Take Mel's clones for example, one clone is half as strong as him. 2 clones further reduces how PL of the individual clones and so. Therefore, since the magic now flows through most humans, the power is less concentrated than if it was in a few and so the humans have produced stronger fighters but not ones who are 'immensely powerful'.

We also have to note that the commandments called albions "rusty old toys". Albions have a PL of 5,500 which is far superior to the PL of humans. Hendricksen got there after taking the power of a grey demon. I get this is a theory on your part, but I really don't see any reason we should doubt that power of the demons. Even if we were to be lenient, we know that 3,000 is average for sins (who are far superior to other humans), we also know that albion is 5,500 and they are simply toys. The commandments are the elites of the demon clan..in other word, the sins of the demon clan. Average for a HK is 300 and a sin's average is 10 times that. Granted we can't explicitly state that the commandments are 10 times as strong as albion but we know that they are a far superior. Their PL thus far is consistent and logical given the different explanations and comparisons.

So... what was your point? Sure, the elites can handle the red demons... but if they do that then who handles the demon elites? And the demon elite we saw would be able to handle what seems to be about several kingdoms worth of elite holy knights... Meliodas is stronger than 3 GHK class fighters and he is nowhere near galan... As of now the entirety of britania is thoroughly screwed to the point that the commandments probably would not be able to tell the difference between having and not having opposition.

I think the demon from 20 years ago seemed stronger for a number of reasons:

1.- It burned down the fairy king's forest in an instant.
2.- He killed ban. Ban thought he had already finished the job but it seems like even then he should have been able to react if the demon was relatively weird. Granted that the situation could have been about the amount of power ban could draw thanks to his weapon though.
3.- The demon killed elaine, the replacement for the fairy king whom we had seen handle ban with relative ease earlier.

Its probable that the red demon we saw also had its magic at almost zero.

1. It burned down the fairy forest, but it didn't need to hold back. The second one on the other hand was collecting souls, and it probably needs the humans alive to extract the souls, so it had to hold back.
2. As I said before, it was Ban's ignorance and bloating that allowed that demon to strike, not it's power.
3. What Elaine did was nothing special. All she did was push him of all the time. Hawk could have done that too. Even I could have done that! Without magic!

What I mean is, considering that neither King nor Mel have even reached half of Galan's current power level and they are the strongest so far! And with 10 Galan-level demons walking around Britannia is, like you said, fucked. In other words, no time for a training arc, and Nakaba is not the kind of guy that suddenly pulls a plotdevice, at least not so far and especially not something so huge. So either we get some badass reveal with King's wings, Disaster, Ban's ST, Escanor, or whatever, or he weakens the commandments. He still can, if he uses the possible explanation I gave with the souls. But we'll just have to wait.

Oh man.... What is your problem with those souls. Human souls can only restore demons magic powers because magic power was divided between humans years by years because of humans fast reproduction. Demons are weaker because they dont have their magic power and they discovered a way to restore it slowly just now. Here is my advice. Read only Red Hawk version.

I DO read the red hawk version! And the thing with the souls is, if they have eaten souls before, how come they didn't know about it before? You'd think the would have known that shit, especially being the elite! I mean, how do you not notice that?! Maybe they just didn't try it with human souls until now, and seeing the shortage on all other clans and they noticed that even weak human souls would do the trick! Unless Nakaba decides to do someting like FMAB and the souls started opposing the commandments, which I'm fine with because this is not the final arc and I love FMAB. Maybe the sins could do something similar, as in they borrow the power of the dead to fight them, though as of now I can only see King and Ban doing so, and even that is highly unlikely.

The demon was for the most part done with the town though. even when the gang arrived most people were already empty. The demon did not have much reason to hold back. Also worth considering, why would the demon hold back if his life is in danger? Its not like humans are scarce, if he does not get humans from one place he can get them from another.

Of course all elaine was only pushing him... but its the only thing she needed to do, repeatedly at that. At no point could ban realistically defend from that. Its not like elaine was taking it easy or anything, her objective was specifically to murder ban in cold blood. Even when he had the cup in his hands elaine was able to stop him before he could drink. And even then, acting fairy king implies elaine must be insanely powerful at least.

I am not sure about the training thing. I think it will largely depend on the sin rather. Mel does not need training, he needs to recover his old strength back for the most part. Not sure of what that would entail though. King's power depends on his own magic plus what he can draw from the spirit tree. We also don't have any explanation of his ability so far. Add to that whatever is up with his fairy wings... King has plenty of potential to go around. I don't think ban's treasure would provide the sort of powerup to match a commandment. King's seems to have something to do with the sacred tree so if he can draw more of it it makes sense it raises his power level but the other sins are unlikely to have something like that... I guess ban could focus on stealing strength but his treasure would need a hell of a complement to snatch to get that. Even stealing meliodas' current strength took ban a bit, he does not have that much against the commandments. Diane, merlin and gowther are kinda out there though. Whether they ultimately have the time to train (though I don't think training will help them match the commandments considering most sins are old would have to get really powerful in much less time than they have been alive) depends on how long it takes the commandments to recover.

Actually it was never stated that she was designated as fill-in fairy queen. I think she did it voluntarily. And Elaine basically stopped Ban by saying please. As for the red demon in the town, I think it knew that it had to collect as many souls as possible, or the commandments would kill him for doing a sloppy job. And it didn't hold back once it recognized the danger. It just didn't stand a chance. And another thing I want to point out is that King seems to be surrounded by death, which is why I think he is likely to receive aid from the dead. Helbram for example is already there!

You are right in that it was never said she was literally the fairy queen however king did tell her to look after everything while he looked for helbram. Based on her reaction she is probably not as powerful as king however she did protect the forest for several hundred years which I think is meaningful regarding her power. Also worth noting, odds are that whatever is going on with king's wings is probably going on with elaine. If it means a powerup then its something elaine should have.

I think you are assuming to much about the commandments. We have no reason to think they would be so unreasonable that the demon couldn't him humans if it mean its survival. No matter how you look at it that red demon in the end did not show as much firepower as the red one ban faced. Even the grey was did not show that much power.

The red demon in the village was about to blast Gilthunder, but Griamor reflected the attack and caused it to blow itself up. The one Ban fought either just didn't hold back, or the attack was exagerated by Nakaba for shock value, which is most likely the case, as if that demon's attack really was that powerful it would equal Albion. And the gray demon just had a different fighting style, not less power. As for Elaine protecting the forest for hundreds of years, she actually only protected the fountain of youth. The sacred tree basically protected itself. Just entering is hard enough, and harming it almost impossible.

Because they've probably never had any need for this method before. Only now after their reemergence, with their depleted magical power have they figured this is the easiest way to recuperate.

They still would have known about the effect. And it would only make sense for them to use this beforehand. It's kinda like getting exp in an rpg without respawning enemies. You don't only kill the enemy, you also become stronger by doing so. And they already ar commandments already are the strongest so far.
