Speaking of the Vampires, I wonder if Mel killing Gelda will even be brought up in the main series.

Good point. I remember Zeldris saying he has to do something near Edinburgh in chapter 136, and i think the vampire seal was broken close to Edinburgh. So he could have explored a bit what happend to the vampire clan. Zeldris could very well bring up the vampire's demise to Meliodas, when they finally start to fight, and ask what happend to Gelda.

So, when and how Meliodas was afflicted with 'Piety'? I don't and can't see in the battle Meliodas vs 10 commandments, he was afflicted with Piety.

When he ran away from Zeldris after reattaching his arm, just before he created the smokescreen by punching the ground.
Why we never saw the triggering of Piety and Meliodas' being forced into submission by the decree is still a mystery to this day.

It was a bit confusing, it still is. Either the Demon king meant that Meliodas's death was assured facing the commandments Estarossa (charity) and Zeldris (piety), or he was actually afflicted by their commandments. The rule for Piety is that you cant turn your back to Zeldris, and the rule for charity is you cant hate Estarossa.
For piety, Meliodas did try to run aways after he was cursed by the chains, so he could have been afflicted by the commandment right there. As for charity, he went for a revenge counter against all of the commandments, i guess with hatred, and thats why Estarossa stopped it so easily, because he lost all his powers being afflicted by charity.
I think he was actually afflicted by charity, as for piety it wasnt so clear. If you turn your back to Zeldris, you have to obey him and serve the Demon king by proxy, but it wasnt shown that Zeldris could give orders to Meliodas.

I know about Charity, that is the cause of why his revenge counter failed and lost his strengh. But I wonder what were the effect of Piety on Meliodas if he was afflicted with the commandment. And the chains were provoked by Greyroad. I saw only Meliodas being afflicted by Charity and dies nothing more nothing less.

There is also the possibility that he was not affected by both. The DK might have only said Piety and Love because they are Zel and Estarossa's aliases. He has definitely been affected by Love though, that's how his Revenge Counter has been stopped.

He mentioned how he'd created the two, what you'd need to do to be freed from the curses, and how powerless Meliodas was once stricken by them. It's pretty clear he meant the decrees, really.

Quite so… There are two ways to dispel the decrees I've created… One must either defeat the Commandment who has been granted one of these decrees… or die.

Nothing is clearer than that, even the Japanese version.

Maybe Zeldris has to actually issue an order before the full effect kicks in? I don't remember 100% how those people who ran from him at Lioness reacted tho, so I could be wrong.

But Zeldris didn't actually talk to Meliodas after he ran iirc while he said something along the lines of "y'all can get your little butts right over here, for I am the demonking's top peasant" to those humans later on (may be a bit liberal with that quote. Just a bit :P)

He was afflicted with both Decrees but I'm pretty sure curses can be resisted. Merlin could mount a resistance against curses, so could the Goddess, so could the 10C; whatever the Race, Disposition,Talent or Physiology, it has been proven that some curses can be resisted.

We know Meliodas, & we know his Mind. It's going to be very tough, if not impossible to control such a person. Balor actually made the point that he couldn't read Meliodas' Heart as well as his Mind, even though that's a talent of his. Elaine is unable to read his Mind & tell what he's truly thinking.

Finally, we also know of a greater curse; one which requires the PL of the Kings in order to be broken/resisted (caused lovers) & that won't be broken till Meliodas or Liz get back to their optimum PL. This means, PLs is also a fruitful method of mounting a resistance against some curses.

That's precisely why the Demon King said that line - albeit Meliodas is very powerful, he could do nothing after being affected by Love and Piety.

So this whole thing with Meliodas back to his 10C personality has got me thinking about something I can't believe I haven't given thought to before: his commandment. Obviously, Meliodas would have had to have a commandment of his own. Based on available evidence, which I admit there is an unfortunate amount of, I would have to say that Meliodas had Love as his commandment, which Estarossa and Zeldris have. The Original Commandments lost 4-5 Commandments during the war: Aranak, Zeno, Melidoas, Carmandios, and Gowther. Drole and Gloxinia have been proven to have replaced Aranak and Zeno. Now the tricky part, after our last chapter with the 10C vs. the Angels, 2-4 new commandments showed up: Grayroad, Fraundrin, Estarossa, and Zeldris. That is a very tricky statement however, because we see Zeldris fighting Dolor, and he seems to be a commandment, but we can't prove that fully, just that he's using DK's power. We also see Estarossa during the Holy War, and in a picture of the original 10C. Since Zeldris is the one who seems to have inherited Carmandios' Peity/Betrayal, Fruandrin got Selflessness, and Grayroad seem to have gotten its from somebody, the question is how this seeming conundrum is possible. The best I have is that Medliodas had Love, Estarossa or Zeldris had Pacifism, and when Cal died Zeldris took Piety, Estarossa took Love from Mel and Greyroad picked up Selflessness. Sorry if this confused you, it confused me, if I made a mistake somewhere in here, please tell me because this bugs the crap out of me.

Zeno and Aranak were most likely patience and repose which went into Dolor and Gloxinia. Gowther of selflessness went into Fraudrin. Calmidos of Betrayal went into Zeldirs of Piety. Meliodas of thou shall not covet (kill) went into grayroad. But too me I feel like Mel commandment of not covet was deeper in meaning. Like a mixture of love and Pacifism. Where if you even try to hurt someone in anger or purpose then you lose something. Either life span or the option to use strength. Just a theory though but tell me what you think
