Well there will be several fights going on on this journey.
  1. Zodiacs vs Beyond
  2. The Battle Royal between the 15 princes with their bodyguards and nen beasts
  3. Genei Ryodan vs Hisoka
  4. And Hisoka vs the world
I think the Genei Ryodan will be focusing on getting rid of hisoka on the journy to the DC, because there wont be any treasures till the ship heads back to Kakin.

The battle royal might be conclude until we reach the DC.

But I'm really intrigued with hisoka, because he wont just be fighting the ryodan. There is almost his entire Toy Box on one ship. He will be a nuisance to every plan any faction on the trip wants to carry out.
What Mizaistom plans to spy on some beyond members? But Hisoka wants to fight now!
What Hanzou wants to protect momoze? But Hisoka wants to fight now!
What Nobunaga and Kurapica are about to fight? Well, just about to, but Hisoka wants to fight NOW!

I think as soon as Nobunaga knows that Kurapica is on board, he will become the achilles heel of the genei ryodan, because he is the kind of guy who would go alone if he has to just to get revenge. So I assume Chrollo would send at least one other spider with him. If I have to guess he would send either Phinx, Feitan, Bonolenov or Franklin. And I have a strong feeling it will be Franklin, because his ranged abilities would give them an edge against both kurapica and Hisoka, due to Uvo, strongest close combatant of the troup, loosing to Kurapica.

Edit: Oh and if the DC is as harsh as it is said to be, I think we will see at some point some odd alliances.
Nah, Hisoka doesn't act like that, he might get to excited at times but if he was that impulsive he would have died long ago. I am sure he will cooperate to stop the Spiders though. Kakin are a royal family so they have treasures, and the princes are obviously rich. They will have to steal treasures while dealing with Hisoka trying to kill them. He wants the Spiders dead and can take his time to do it, since he is the one choosing when he will attack, he won't be too reckless because he learnt his lesson. He is doing this because of a grudge but he is actually a Hunter and killing/capturing criminals is not bad at all, he could get a lot of support there.

I am also wondering about Chrollo's plan. How will he infiltrate? Maybe he will be a bodyguard with a false identity? Lovely Ghostwriter could be very helpful to a prince.

EDIT: He talked about the entrance for common people, he can't be a bodyguard but he could still try to bait a prince like that on the ship. The Troupe can't be too wild either, really curious to know how he'll proceed there. With Shalnark's death they lost their only Hunter

Some Spiders will try to steal treasure and kill a prince because that's what they do, and then Hisoka jumps in and murders them in cold blood since that's what he does, and then Hisoka becomes a national hero for saving a prince from certain death and we'll see him shaking hands with all the important guys for his act of bravery while Ilumi watches at home with a 'what the...' face. Hisoka gets a 1 star award for his contribution and Kurapika is assigned to team up with Hisoka to stop rest of the Spiders. There will be epic team fights where Kurapika says we should let them live and give them a chance to redeem themselves but Hisoka just brutally murders the Spiders saying such evil has no right to live. After finally defeating the Spiders, Pariston shows up and says Hisoka is the kind of Hunter the world needs, someone who is willing to risk everything and do anything to defend for what is right instead of just hiding behind committees like the Zodiac, and pledges his unconditional support for Hisoka. Hisoka asks if Pariston can help him arrange a fight against Ging, which Pariston obliges and Hisoka gets his face smashed as soon as the fight starts. Still, such minor blemish means little as the world will always remember the brave Spider Hunter Hisoka reminded the world that there are some who will never compromise against evil and that indecisive action against evil will no longer be accepted as long as Hisoka is around.

Seriously, though, I'm thinking Hisoka will get a ton of free offers for help to carry out his goal of taking on the Spiders and he definitely should take opportunity of them.

I don't want to predict how the boat arc will come out, but regarding the sides that will manage to survive this "war" on the boat.
Who of them will be worthy of passing trough this guy?

Rude people, probably the spiders can't get through it if they survive the trip.
Also what is this gatekeeper(we got to see pictures of the calamities, why not him?) is he some kind of monster or an ancient guy like Don Freecs?
Netero and Zzigg should know him
I can't wait to get some answers :c

Maybe this is why ging couldnt pass yet: The qualification he is missing is to manner up and play the nice guy witht he gatekeeper :p
I think the gatekeeper is not a calamity because he just keeps the gate and shows no aggression to humanity at all.

I didn't wan't to say he is a calamity, but if togashi showed us the worst things we can find there, why he wouldn't show a simple gatekeeper?
Maybe he is super important or we got a hint of what he could be, idk
Ging is an ass sometimes.. lol

I do not think the calamities are the worst things there. they are the worst things humans have encountered so far.
And if humans met a calamity at EVERY expedition.....Then those things should be relatively common in the DC.
Which is quite scary.

The gatekeeper might very well be partially responsible for, for example, no chimera ant before the queen passing to the human world, because he is just that strong.

Yes you're right, it's like what we see as calamities here are common flora and fauna in the DC.
Sounds like he's someone strong, it'll be cool if you have to trade some friendly blows to prove worthy :d

Possibly we get another exam arc :D

But tbh, i think that the gatekeeper got installed where he is after the expeditions of humans into the DC.
I could imagine that humans, as weak as they usually are, stirred trouble in the DC by entering the terrirtory of calamities or other creatures, and thus only those who are ready are allowed now.
Probably netero and co never had to pass a test, but ging does now because the gatekeeper wasnt always there.

It begs the question why exactly the humans are left alone, anyway.
There has to be a reason for it. Noone from the DC ever tried to invade the human world, not even the chimera ants, who do try to build empires.
There has to be some outward forces protecting the human world, and i would love to know why.

Was thinking that Menchi and Buhara might also go to the new continent for new foods to hunt, and that Hisoka is going to chase the spider to that place. We might see their abilities there~

Definitely rooting for menchi reappearing.
Almost all hunters have a reason to go there.

Crime hunters know criminals will probably appear there, ruin hunters, medical hunters, biological hunters, treasure hunters and so on will also have a field day.
UNTIL THEY DIE......<.<

Chrollo and the others will probably use their true names to board since Meteor City people are nobodies.

They'll probably make/falsify ID cards or something. Kurapika is part of the Intelligence Team, so if he doesn't get too obsessed with his goals he should be aware that the Troupe will be on the ship when they will get the passenger list.

Buy maybe they know Kurapika is part of the Zodicas too, they are leaders of the Hunter Associations and they know Leorio joined so it's not impossible, it's very likely even. If there's really a new member, he could have an ability suited for infiltration, like one allowing them to change their appearances.

Well i dont think they will use their real names and faces. I mean, chrollo has to be famous after that heaven's arena fight and also searched for by the authorities (responsible for th edeath of a lot of people)..
At least he has to change his appearance with transfer student.
And i do believe that the spiders at least kept tabs about kurapika.
Also, we know the spiders are always in for some hilarious fake beard action, see the infiltration of the hospital uvo was held captive in^^

Why would they bother trying to go to Earth? If Humanity can barely survive something like the Ants, maybe there's nothing of interest.

It certainly is a hiding spot from which you can do operations and where you can breed ever stronger kings and queens.
I mean, humans are crazy afraid of the calamities, and some crossed the treashhold (or effects of them).
So, there are creatures which , at least when humans invaded their territory, came into the human world.
As far as i remember, the officials are not exactly sure why humanity still exists even tho some calamities were able to cross.
There has to be a reason for it, someone who keeps it in check.

It's kinda far out of the way of the actual DC, though. It's in the center of a huge ocean, which you then have to cross back across with your prepared weapon/army... although according to Beyond there is another route. I wonder why the route Neterro Sr. took to get there never came up. The Gatekeeper doesn't seem to care about what's getting through the gate from the DC, or the expedition group would never have brought Zobae back through into the human world.

That is why i think the gatekeeper was not installed when the first expeditions happened. That only happened after, to prevent exactly those things.
This is also why normal military guys were able to go to the DC, but ging is not.

It could be Ging does not consider himself to be on the level that Neterro/Zzygg/Linnet were. Not necessarily in terms of combat, but there's a reason Ging is described as the 'floating idiot' a lot amongst the Zodiacs. He doesn't play well with others, and the DC is going to require teamwork- you notice nobody's trying to solo anything. :D

Ging states that the only strategy they have for dealing with the Calamities, right now, is that they are not supposed to approach them unless they are nowhere near one another. So anything more than a single calamity on its own is too much for the expeditions to handle, and it also kind of interests me because it hints that the Calamities might not always stay in one general location/territory.

That is true, but i DO think ging is capable of teamwork.
He described teamwork and group efforts as one of his main rewards when he searched for ruins and other things.
He also works well with beyond's group.

Ging told gon that there are requirements which you need to cross over. That sounded much more like actualy requirements to go there than to be succesful there.
And we know there is a gatekeeper now who seems to be troublesome to deal with, so i dont think that this guy would have let the first few expeditions which didnt even have nen users with them go through.

Not as much as you might think. Remember the issue that was caused when he offered to pay the Mercenaries? He had no idea that would cause such a split in the group, or that he would wind up (as #2) following someone else's orders on account of it.

Ging, like Gon in a lot of cases, doesn't necessarily always think about or take others' thoughts and feelings, or their status on a given subject into consideration. Gon, I can pin it on his age. Ging doesn't really have an excuse, though.

Ging told gon that there are requirements which you need to cross over. That sounded much more like actualy requirements to go there than to be succesful there.

Why have requirements to go over if success is not the intended goal?

So not every (powerful) lunatic goes over, fucks up, and brings back calamities?
