You mean the traitor is a sleeper agent.
Something like that. I guess my main issue with the traitor subplot is that it feels like there's so little to work with. For comparison, the "Dabi is Toya" theory had a BUNCH of evidence supporting it, to the point where the reveal was a matter of when, not if. With the traitor, I feel like we don't know enough to say for certain who it could possibly be. For example, while it's true Toru's Quirk makes her the perfect spy, that honestly feels like bait, y'know? Plus, as has been noted, a lot of the 1-A students don't give us much to work with in terms of personality, actions, or even background. And that's without taking into account 1-B, who could just as easily be the ones with the traitor. I'm probably gonna get some flack for this, but I really can't pin down anything because it feels like we have little to work with.

Sorry for the little tangent, I just wanted to say my opinion.

One thing that seems to often be forgotten is that Toga was able to get blood from a student of another school and infiltrate an exam while said student only remembers being woozy for a few days.

In my opinion, the most likely scenario for the traitor is that Toga took one of the student's blood, infiltrated the school and found the info she needed.

Ever since students started living in dorms there have been no signs that there is a traitor among them. This is something that the Principal stated and that's a hint that Traitor theorists tend to ignore.

I am not trying anything except trying make sense of what we were presented in the manga. 167-168 came out of nowhere and obviously not just about Aoyama trying make friends. This page alone is enough to get it.

That because this is how the troupe suppose to work. It supposed to be someone whose reveal will make at least some impact. Thats why Hagakure ( along with Koda, Sato and Mineta) is out of questions if you ask me. People wanting her to be a mole is based on two things. First her quirk is perfect for the job. Second it wouldnt hurt anyone. If Kohei made some development to her it would make sense but now its too late for this.
Being the traitor isn't a popularity contest. Horikoshi is capable of expanding on the traitor, diving deep into the why and through there giving the traitor as much character development as needed.

And, yes, Hagakure's quirk is perfect for the job as well as other reasons like her possibly lying about where she was during the USJ arc and not knowing about Deku and Friends going to save Bakugo which could be the reason why the League was caught off guard. For me, there's logic to her being the traitor based on clues Horikoshi has dropped.

Froppy got one of the recommendations though. With this in mind and going by all the dropped hints, the logical and best choice for a mole would be Ochaco. However Horikoshi has time and again made choices that don't fit and are just strange... Froppy could work, but not as well as Ochaco. However Ochaco's recent interactions with Himiko both supports the idea of Ochaco having issues as well as make it more difficult for her to be the traitor. On one hand we have the fact that Himiko understands people and is able to use their quirks because she understand their desire... so Ochaco denying so hard that she wants to drop people from high places seems pretty damning...
Explain why Ochaco is a "logical" choice, please. List your reasons. Because I want to know if she's the traitor then why is she working for an organization whose leader wants to murder the boy she likes? Why did she interrupt Shigaraki when he had Deku by the throat in the mall? Why didn't she snitch on Deku & Friends going off on their own to save Bakugo during the Kamino Arc? Why didn't she tell Toga she was the traitor when the two were fighting alone?

Most of those questions apply to Froppy plus, why is she working for an organization whose leader (Shigaraki) almost directly murdered her in the USJ arc?

Please check out my post history, I talk about it in a lot of threads. Anyway, the main points here is that Ochaco is the only character that are part of the main hero ones that we don't know all that much about. She is one of the few characters that actually would have an impact on both the story, the readers and the the characters in the story. The setup for her character as explained also leaves open a lot of possibilities. Sure you can make the claim that we don't know much about characters such as Hagakure either, but the difference here is that we don't know ANYTHING about her. Hagakure is at best a background character and she does not really matter so making her the traitor is little better than just making it a random teacher we have seen in one or two panels. Recently we were told in the manga that the doctor actually ran orphanages. If we consider this little random tidbit of information and couple it with that the traitor obviously was not reporting to the LoV and apparently not directly to AFO, the person they likely reported to was the doctor. As such it seems a given that the traitor is somebody that was an orphan that the doctor took in. But Ochaco has parents right? Yes, but are they her biological parents?
I want to know if she's the traitor then why is she working for an organization whose leader wants to murder the boy she likes?
Did you somehow miss the panel where her inner monologue was shown? In it she was shown thinking that she had decided to suppress her feelings so that she could face forwards and succeed. This was interpreted by fans that it just showed Ochaco deciding to not allow her feelings hold her back as a hero, but does that even make any sense? Rather, wouldn't it make more sense for her steeling herself because her feelings for Izuku and her classmates made her feel bad when she was feeding the doctor information?
Why did she interrupt Shigaraki when he had Deku by the throat in the mall?
Because she does not work for Shigaraki. Izuku dying or not dying is not part of what she was doing. She is still a person that care for other people and she was probably shocked at seeing Shigaraki there. Rather her reaction was bit strange since there wasn't any real reason so would react to seeing some random guy there with Izuku unless she recognized him as a villain she was helping.
Why didn't she snitch on Deku & Friends going off on their own to save Bakugo during the Kamino Arc?
Who says she didn't? AFO did suddenly teleport the LoV to safety after all. It was greatly hinted at that AFO wanted to get caught there... and don't forget that Ochaco actually tried to talk them out of going there. The only tow people that really tried to stop Izuku from going was Froppy (citing the law) and Ochaco citing that Bakugou would not like it. AS mentioned, she did have a panel much later where it showed us that she decided to not allow her feelings to interfere... which could also suggest that she was conflicted and knowing that what AFO had planned, wanted to keep her classmates out of harms way.
Why didn't she tell Toga she was the traitor when the two were fighting alone?
Because she isn't working with the LoV, she is working for the doctor.
Why is she working for an organization whose leader (Shigaraki) almost directly murdered her in the USJ arc?
Because she is indebted to the doctor and sees him as family? Because her adopted parents are villains? because she is being paid a lot of money and she wants to help her parents? because her quirk makes her want to drop people to their deaths and the doctor is helping her cope with it? Possibly she has even murdered her biological parents already and the doctor is hiding this fact? Who knows...

No offense, but you're REALLY reaching with these "Ochako is the traitor" theories.

Personally, I think the biggest clue thus far may be in Hawks.

If there is one thing we can say for sure about Hori's writing style, it's that he really, really loves his character foils (I.e. Deku-Shigaraki, Ochako-Toga, Todoroki-Dabi, All Might-AfO etc).

I wouldn't be surprised if the traitor turns out to be a foil to Hawks - who himself was spying on Lov.

With this in mind, which U.A. characters seem to parallel well with Hawks?

Dabi. Only him.

:yoda Hmmmm! The shipping is strong in this one.

But seriously though, one that springs to mind is Nezu.

- Both maintain a chipper attitude that belies their true capabilities,

- Both have backstories that heavily involve lab conditions (Nezu being involuntarily experimented on, Hawks voluntarily undergoing hero training)

- Both have human-animal hybrid characteristics (Nezu being a anthropomorphic mouse, Hawks being a human with an bird-themed quirk)

- Nezu has an intelligence-based quirk and works behind the scenes while Hawks has a combat-based quirk and works on the front lines.

- If Nezu is the traitor, then he has been clearly playing the long game - which would parallel how Hawks' brief tenure as a spy actually was

And that's just off the top of my head

We've been in Nezu's POV. He's genuinely trying to find the traitor.

I don’t think there is a traitor and if there was Horikoshi has since decided against their existence or exploring the idea at all.

Based on what? Time? Horikoshi once said we'll see Deku's father. Has he decided not to do it because we haven't seen him yet? What about Shinso joining the hero course? We haven't had an update on that in a while. Does that mean Horikoshi changed his mind?

My point is just because something hasn't been brought up doesn't mean it was forgotten. Horikoshi should know under what circumstances he wants to reveal the traitor. It will be an important revelation that needs to be done at the right point in the story. Just like with Dabi's confirmation being Toya and Best Jeanist being alive, the traitor reveal will happen at a point in the series where it'll make the most impact.

I thought the traitor was going to be revealed in the war arc. Now, it’s still possible during this post war stage, but now that the war is over the likelihood of there even being a traitor for me at least, has just gone down significantly. I know that plot point is still in the air but after so much time of nothing I’m not sure about anything even more, if it’s still a thing, or if it isn’t or if it’s something else entirely. I just want to wait and see what happens, and if it’s satisfactory, il accept it.

However I will say that it’s got pretty much zero chance of it being Ochako. Just doesn’t make any sense given what we know about her character.

However, if I was writing for this particular situation, I wouldn’t have the traitor be someone whos motivation changed halfway through. By that I mean, they got into UA honestly, and for whatever reason just decide to help the villains either out of blackmail or they just suddenly changed sides for some reason. That wouldn’t be compelling and would be a huge letdown and/or would be very hard to justify.

I would have the traitor be working for the villain the whole time, and be sent to UA undercover on a mission, to not only monitor and send information about UA and the hero society back to the villains, but also be sent by AFO or the Doctor himself to find out information on OFA, like find out who has it, how to get it from the person who has it, etc. Remember that AFO realised that Deku had OFA without being told by All Might, but it’s also possible that AFO figured out who had OFA by watching the sports festival with Shigaraki and realising it was Deku.

Basically, I would want this to be like Reiner/Berthold/Annie’s betrayal in AOT.

As dumb as Iliyas reasoning as to why Ochako could be the traitor was, they do bring up a valid point that the traitor could be working with the Doctor specifically and not the LOV as a whole.

But yeah, curious to see what happens.

Think Manchurian Candidate.
Horikoshi doesn't strike me as someone who would do that. He always plays fair with his audience and loves dropping clues whenever he can. If the traitor was Nezu, I don't think he would've let us inside his POV.

Good point, however the point I'm trying to make isn't that Nezu is the traitor - but rather that Horikoshi's love of character foils may provide a strong clue in regards to the traitor's identity.

Are there any other characters we can think of who could act as a good foil to Hawks?

I would say that the last few chapters have cleared away any hypothesis that Uraraka may be the traitor (thank goodness)

Depends on what you mean. If you're talking about someone whose been trained to do that type of work then it's unknown at this point. Now, if you're talking about someone whose quirk could be useful in espionage, that's Hagakure.

No, because it's an unfounded theory. There's no real proof suggesting she is. People just like the idea and want it to be true.

Look at the clues Horikoshi gave about Dabi being Toya or Ujiko being Deku's doctor, Or, even Toga being Camie in disguise. For over 300 chapters, Horikoshi has played fair with his audience, giving hints when he wants to and withholding information when he wants to completely shock the audience (i.e. Mr. Compress related to Oji Harima). In every instance, he plays fair with his audience, yet some still think we should ignore the traitor clues we were given and just go with someone who narratively doesn't make sense.

Its a good theory, Its not perfect of course but at least it would somehow explain why Uraraka is so HEAVILY undeveloped. She supposed to me heroine of this manga but honestly at this point Momo feels more like it.

Do your really want compare 1-10 chapters twist to 200+ chapters twist?

LOL That was shocking to anyone? If anything it was just a piece of new information.
