Discussion UEFA Euro 2008

[Starzen]

This time they are up against one of the best if not the best team in the tournament, luck wont work against portugal.

[nahkampfbiber]

If germany wins this match, they'll win the cup.
But without Podolski there's noone who can actually score. Klose is in poor form for some time now and Gomez is totally beside himself since the very first minute of the tournament.
On top of that their shaky defense...

Portugal is definetly the heavy favorite for this one. But i'm positive we'll give them quite a fight.

[Starzen]

scoring is not the problem, defending and containing portugal is where they greatest challenge would be, they can score during the set pieces and counter attacks.

[One Eyed Sharingan]

Dunno, really. With the way they played the last game they won't stand a chance against Portugal. Besides that, two top players are out due to injuries (Frings, Podolski) and Löw (main trainer) is banned from the game, he can't hold any contact to the players not even during the halftime break.

But whatever. I'm an optimist but I prefer being a little negative when it's a situation like this, so the win will taste even better <3

Don't lose hope just yet...
Podolski's absence means that Schweini will be starter.... he's the one who crushed Portugal 2 years ago

[Lelo]

today is Portugal vs Germany, cant wait. My money is on Portugal.

[walkie]

i say germany will be through..portugal is just overpowered and germany is always good at competitions from the very beginning

[Lelo]

true, they are both good teams, I just hope its a good game, like 2-1. I'm at work so I won't see it till I get home

[KnuckleheadedNinja]

30 minute until kick off, i can't wait. I'm picking Portugal to win. Whoever win is going to be in the final because i don't see the winner of Croatia/Turkey stopping either team.

[Starzen]

The match is nice and open and both teams are attacking each other instead of defending.

[One Eyed Sharingan]

SCHWEINIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!

[Starzen]

oh man thats a great goal.

[One Eyed Sharingan]

KLOSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!! assist by SCHWEINIIIIII

see, Eni? don't lose hope just yet

[Bogusz]

KLOSE KLOSE KLOSE

[Lelo]

what's the score 1-0 Germany

[Starzen]

2 nil and portugal are gonna be sent to the cleaners.

[Imperium]

Portugal can still comeback, it took germany about 5 minutes to score 2 goals, portugal can do the same. But its a difficult tiime for germany, should they defend or attack? Right now, they are counter-attacking effectivly (although with complete unawareness of the off-side rule).

---

They just scored, 2-1. Portugal, are back in the match.

[Starzen]

ah man why the heck is germany playing so deep and being defensive for.

[Lelo]

I hate Portugal but I want them to win so they can go to the finals and play Italy(if Italy can make it), than I want Portugal to lose in the finals. That would be the best finals *'+x Italy vs Portugal

[eni]

Great game! Great game!!

[Starzen]

I want the under dogs to win and in this case its germany.
