...One Piece is overrated. As a whole it's admittedly better written than the other 'big two' (and maybe most WSJ series) and has a compelling universe, but the plot still suffers the same simplistic quirks as most shonen.

I think choppers giant transformation is lame
The next crew mate (after jimbe) should be very violent. Like bart and zoro.
Usop didnt really gain anything much in the timeskip except special seeds (which are prolly limited) and a new slingy.

I agree that his timeskip developement was a dissapointment but his seeds are unlimited. He grows them on the ship. (Stated in a SBS)

- Don Chinjao is stronger than any of DD's top executives including Vergo (haven't seen enough of Pica though)

- Blackbeard's strategies are pretty good

- Don Krieg was a tougher fight than Arlong and pretty difficult

-I agree on the notion that One Piece is overrated (even though I like the series and prefer it to the other 2 in the big three and airy dale) but even in the shonen demographic there are works out there with better intrigue action humor and emotional moments.

-I don't think this is unpopular but for the record I'd like to say that I'm kind of getting tired of princess characters in this series. I want to see more pirates Government agents and rouges.

They are the only members that matter so it makes sense that he would consistently make the other weaker members just fall. I never signed up for one piece for someone like the cyborg or the random weather user who really just cant do nothing but tricks. one Piece is at its best when we see Luffy, Sanji, or Zoro deliver really fantastic attacks and moves.

Apart from Usopp, Nami, and Chopper, who has acted cowardly? Franky went after Doflamingo's cronies at Punk Hazard, he wasn't scared at all. Brook may be scared, but he also willingly fights when needed. Robin doesn't run either. Hell, even the cowardly trio fight when they need to, and prior to this arc, none of the trio ever expressed fear when fighting. It was the future that they were scared of, whether clashing with Big Mom or Luffy wanting to go to the most dangerous island.

Unpopular opinions? Well, don't know if these are "unpopular" but here's what I think:

-Shanks is overrated.

-The return of Ace's fruit is bad.

-The revelation of Sabo being alive is even worse.

-Dragon is overrated.

-Yonkou aren't necessarily stronger than Admirals.

-Crocodile is underrated.

-Oda needs to change his style more often(The WB Saga for example, was different from the arcs that compose about 80% One Piece.)

-Oda should stop having a random ass audience that somehow seem to always conveniently be around to praise the magnificent Straw Hats whenever they do something epic.

The Alabasta arc was overall the worst arc. It stopped being good when the crew left Whiskey Point (?) with Vivi and became good again when they reached the island of Alabasta. The Elbalf giants and Drum Island were just that boring and bad.

That's the thing though, it shouldn't JUST be that. Luffy has a CREW not him and just those two other people, a CREW. All I'm saying is that I'd like the other to get some more active roles and to be a bit more confident in what they are actually skilled in.

I don't like Sabo's return. Even if the chapters themselves were quite good, I don't like the idea behind it. For me, it's meaningless. Ace died without knowing that Sabo was alive. He had a tatoo ASCE in his honor ... for what ? Nothing ?

Plus, Robin knew Sabo and said nothing to Luffy ? We have to believe that Sabo meets someone from the strawhat crew and doesn't give the message "tell my long lost brother that I'm alive" ?

I want to see strawhat's crew growth on their individual skills as a part of a pirate crew. Not a bunch of mere fighters.

The return of Sabo is good. The character design is not.

Buggy and Alvida is underrated

Haki is overrated and not thoroughly explained. Especially in the terms of hakixhaki user. They are back to 0², and make the whole DF users uniqueness meaningless

Also Sabo is kind of asshole. In a way.

But seems like Oda captured spirit of revolutionists in Sabo- people that make hard calls and do things that might cost society but bring change to country/ world.

Sabo is stupid. The entire character. He feels so patched in and he doesnt even brings the story forward. Aces Tattoo with the crossedout S was so cool back then, because it seems like a nice charactertrait for him, now this got an deeper meaning which destroyed it for me.

Ace is overrated. We never really saw a big feat from him at all, he got destroyed by BB, killed in mere seconds after he was released and jeah. He tied with Jimbei on Land, while he was a logia.

I'd disagree on sabo. One way or the other his presence has been felt in the story for a decent while. Not sure of why ace's tatoo being more than cosmetic would ruin it. Then again I don't get why any reasonable human being would ever do anything as inane as permanently staining their skin so what do I know.

Ace for ace... yeah, he is overrated an he lacks feats. Unfortunately he relied too much on his fruit and by all appearances his haki was underdeveloped.

My unpopular opinion would be.... As far as I can tell, katakuri. He sucks, everything he did in the WCI arc was nonsense and there was never any reason for it to happen. There was no reason for luffy to pursue a fight with him since luffy could have just stranded him in the mirror world. Oda spent way too much time drawing characters squealing in a near orgasm state how cool katakuri was instead of showing us katakuri being cool. WCI is the worst arc in the entirety of the series... Katakuri managed to be a stain in an arc where one of the main plot points was sanji baking a plot cake.

I have 2 categories ( combat vs noncombat)

1.Roger was not the Strongest
2. Shanks<Mihawk
3. Sanji = Zoro
4. Luffy >Katakuri
5. Luffy isnt a Yonko (despite having everything that makes one a Yonko)
6. Kaido = Big Mom
7. Mihawk is only 1st Commander Tier
8. Garp > Akainu
9. Kidd = Luffy
10. Gorosei > Admirals
11. Enma is just a short cut for Zoro to be able to cut Kaido without any real training
12. Zoro hasn't fought a single elite swordsman whereas Luffy has


Non Combat
1.One Piece is just a Poneglyph
2.Robin knew about Sabo and never told Luffy
3.Sabo's entire existence devalued Ace's death
4. Ace should have lived
5. Im-sama's introduction came too late in the manga
6. Kidd is trash and no where close Luffy
7. Zoro begging the WSS to train him was sorry.
8. Jinbe should have already been with the crew for a while now
9. Sanji's nose bleed gag was handled poorly
10. Sanji's Raid suit is an amazing upgrade for him being the only Strawhat without a tool to help him (DF, Swords, Tech.)
11. BM's food craze and amnesia was overdone and devalued her as a top tier
