Zahard was a strong foe, but V's been portrayed as the chosen one. Perhaps, by accepting the evil power he surpassed V, but at least so far, they've been portrayed as close to each other.

I also don't think there is a huge gap between Zahard and the top 3 melee family heads. Plus, Urek could be stronger than Zahard too. The whole Zahard is trapped in to the trash can does not give me a feeling Z will be this Demon King boss of your average isekai. If anything, he will end up inside Wangnan just like V is inside Baam.

How is V portrayed as the chosen one? He wasn't their leader and he died. He is the "Chosen one" for FUG, a criminal organization and he is using his son's body to achieve his goals. Baam's powers can allow him to reach a level superior to his own.

V self proclaim himself the "chosen one" no one has called him such besides that Navigator.it's Bam who's always portrayed as the chosen one not V,as he needs Bam body and power to achieve his revenge

Prophesy aside, I don't think V has ever been framed as anything other than just a dude among the great warriors. There's a religious component when it comes to tower residents but we have seen how their religious and faith are made. V simply died eons ago and he somehow managed to return to the tower, I think enryu's words suggest influence from some stronger being that's alien to the tower. Which could make sense if Arlen's spells are at play. something that seems odd to me is that V is back to avenge arlen but apparently not his murdered child. V has not quite treated or referred to bam as his son either. You'd think the avenging would have something to do with zahard stabbing baby bam in front of arlen but the context is just a bit off for such an scenario.

Just like Garam was indecisive about calling Arlene as Baam's mother, the Baam we know is not really the son of Arlene and V, but a monster product crafted by (now put your speculation, outer god, whatever) in the vessel of dead son of Arlene & V.

In many mangas, somehow being revived seems to be a taboo, idiotic, or meaningless, "It is not your time anymore just go back to your coffin". V's state is quite interesting on that accord. Just why? And how you will somehow manifest yourself after sometime (this might be implied or not in the last chapter, but there is a possibility that in Baam, V was gaining and gaining power and sometime later he might reappear in a form) and what you do? It is weird that the entry of V produced much more speculation and potential inconsistencies than before.
Though, I disagree with Zahard much stronger by a large margin than V, it was not portrayed like that in flashbacks around the rice pot, they are comparable and V might have some edge. Fate seeing is an obvious advantage for Zahard, but it might end up with seeing your inevitable lose :) just look at Paul Atreides from the Dune with his fate seeing. Zahard should have gone completely insane by now.

Zahard and V definitely stand out among the others. V isn't portrayed as the chosen one, but he is a foil to Zahard. Who is the one portrayed as a chosen one who lost his way and is now the big bad.

None of that means he isn't the chosen one though. We don't really know what him being a "chosen one" entails. What if he was always meant/destined to reach that specific point in time then die and come back years later again to fulfill his destiny? Is he still not the chosen one then? We know nothing about that.

Him not being a leader is completely irrelevant.

He might have been the true chosen one, and it could have been known by all of his friends and that's why Jahad said that he obtained power to "change fate" because he believes he changed V's fate from a "chosen"(for whatever purpose) to himself(Jahad) becoming the False King of the Tower(As per Enryu).

We'll just have to wait and hope siu actually goes in depth with those stories, give us some explanations.

V is just a "promised one", which only proves that he had some kind of deal in the past. There is no proof that he is the chosen one.

Zahard wanted to be king since he was young, and he is also their leader. I have never heard anyone in the group complain about that and it would not be surprising if he actually became a king.

There is no reason for Zahard to take V's position. If one day V suddenly competes with Zahard for the position of king, it means he is starting a war because V knew Zahard's intention from the beginning.

From the chapter when V gives scale and stick to judge everyone, I got the feeling that V decides who does what, js. Can you refer me the specific panel of a chapter where Zahard WAS the leader while V WAS ALIVE and WITH THEM, not that Zahard wanted to be the king while he was in the rice pot or such? At the best case for Zahard, V and Zahard were kind of co-leading a group which was generally flat in hierarchy.

Do you think that V is going to take control of Baam and replace him as MC? This is Baam's story. He has been used as a tool to resurrect their "chosen one" V but V isn't going to replace Baam. What I was saying was that he wasn't the "main character" among the 13 Warriors. He is the chosen one for FUG but Tower of God is about Baam. V is a supporting character.

Similarly to how you suggested that it proves that V just had some kind of deal, we know for a fact that Jahad had some kind of a deal. We can go on the authority of Enryu at least(Which we can argue surpasses that of the administrators) and say that Jahad is a false king. So it's not like he was "destined" or "chosen" to be King, he just had some sort of a deal with an admin. So Jahad wanting to be king since he was a kid is irrelevant. For all we know that "destiny" belonged with someone else and jahad was just quick to jump on the opportunity to grab it making a contract with an admin behind the backs of everyone else.

We just don't know though.

There is no reason for Zahard to take V's position. If one day V suddenly competes with Zahard for the position of king, it means he is starting a war because V knew Zahard's intention from the beginning.
Just like there is "no reason" for Rachel to try and take Bam's position? Jealousy is an ugly thing, if it's true taht V was destined/chosen/promised for more than jahad, then why wouldn't he go out of his way to take it? He even knew that Arlene and V had a relationship and he still went and proposed to her because he couldn't accept that V had something he didn't. And when he learned that V had a child with Arlene, again he became jealous and irrational, tracking her down and then killing her child right in front of her, because again, he can't accept that V had something he didn't. Jahad and Rachel are more alike in this manner that probably most would want to acknowledge.

I wouldn't mind it if V takes over and replaces Bam as MC, not at all. I know that a lot of readers don't want to accept such an outcome though, they'll hammer on teh same boring line "We had over 600 chapters of Bam as an MC just for him to change?". But if it was always V's story and Bam was just a vessel until V came back, then what's the problem? I really have no problem with it at all.

I also don't think we can conclude whether V was the "main character" among the 13 irregulars or not. It doesn't matter if we think of him(From their perspective) as the "main character" or the "main antagonist" V ultimately remained, from teh beginning to the end a being that influenced their lives in one way or another, good or bad. We don't know at which point they stopped looking towards V, what we do know is there used to be a time when they did look towards him. He was always at the forefront at their climb, with Jahad next to him too. Now you can make an argument for either V being the MC of their climb or V being the villain of their climb, what you cannot do is deny that V played a leading role in their climb. He was then more of a "main character" than the surrounding family heads who could all have been just supporting roles.

I don't understand your question. It's obvious that Zahard is their leader. V himself said so in flashback (ss3 ep 215). Eduan said so in HF (ss2 ep 288).

Well I'm not sure what Zahard's feelings are, but it's obvious that he loves Arlene, not because he's jealous of V.
Rachel is jealous of Baam because Rachel is just a normal girl. It's not true in Zahard's case. Zahard was very talented from the start, he doesn't need to be jealous of other people's talents. Who would doubt Zahard's ability?

Zahard became king by contract. This is what SIU said (of course the author can change his mind). However, we have to admit that the admin must agree to let Zahard become king in order for him to become the tower king. That cannot be something Zahard can decide on his own.

Besides, just like how Enne said that Zahard locked himself in the red dump, she also might have thought that the person sitting there was not the real Zahard.

We don't know what happened.

But Enryu only said "False King", which could be similar to what Enne meant.

Thanks for the chapter. They do say "you call yourself a king" or "leader" but other than that, they are not really hierarchical or anything. They so easily appointed V as a temporary leader where he decided a lot. (and I felt that translation of that chapter was a bit poor, but anyhow)

I mainly remembered the mecha giants/monsters whatnots where other GWs were running/escaping around and they were not specifically looking for Zahard or V individually, but either of them. It gave me the impression that they are generally comparable, albeit the one with the tower - king ambition was Zahard and V was more on climbing together. Also pulling the levers chapter, where Zahard was just aimlessly trying something, rather than leading anyone there.

To sum these up, Zahard was indeed "king", "leader", etc. but not by a lot of margin, especially he was closer to V in leading, and regardless of power levels, there was not much authority over anyone as we would understand from the leader word today. Hence, V might very well be the 'MC' of that time.

I'm not sure how you understand it. In this situation Zahard allowed V to be the temporary leader, not that he was chosen by the others. And V clearly knew Zahard wanted to become king.

There is no era where V can be considered the main character.

First of all, our main character is Baam.
Second, V has never been considered more important than Zahard.
Finally, Zahad's three eyes are almost a symbol of ToG. In each chapter, the author draws that symbol, it shows Zahard's importance, to the extent that Bam does not have such a symbolic highlight.

The path is his own. Zahad did not take away his fate. V was simply a loser in his own era.

You don't know any of that. The entire tower as we "know" it now is nothing but an illusion made up by Jahad and his 10 pets. It's nothing but a false history. Gustang insisted on pointing out that fact. Everything is a lie, it's a false history that they're living. You as a reader really doesn't know anything about what really happened back then.

The only things we do know that happened(Factually as it was shown by the scales to gain the truth of Traumerei's innocence or guilt) was that V was the first to gain revolution. V was looked upon as more divine(Angelic through Traumerei's eyes), those wings are typical symbolism of divine transcendence in many cultures. It was shown twice for V while all we got from Jahad was a darkened panel of a man that's half beast and half idiot. V gave the tower evolution and made it rise to new heights. V shared his power with his companions. V empowered them. In just those few panels alone we got a great sense of V's standing not only with the rest, but in the tower itself.

The rest that we know is nothing more than propaganda from the Empire and blatant false history that they made up, from them trying to erase people(V and Arlene) to many other things untold. Now it would be nice if Siu can actually give us a solid backstory covering all of these things, heck I hope that is what the Spin-off is about so that we can at least get some decent clarity and insight to what the real history is.

But everything you're trying to use there for Jahad is just what we got from their False History, nothing else. False history to accommodate a False King.

There is nothing to be unsure here, honestly. Go read the panels, chapter, even before Zahard's temporary assignment people were complaining of V as "at least do it properly" sense, then, how V assigned a role to Gustang out of blue and it persisted like hell. I am saying V WAS NOT THE LEADER BUT THEIR FLAT ORGANIZATION DID NOT REALLY MATTER MUCH WHO WAS THE LEADER ANYWAY. It was not like a boss-employee relation or anything similar we experience in our lives. You can feel Zahard is more important, it is not the point. Referring to three eye symbol is curious, but he is the king of tower NOW, not THEN in the GWs climbing.

I am not a V fan myself and I can objectively go check all the panels where Zahard and V together, and in none of them there is a solid boss and follower relation, also not really for other FHs, though they still listen to some extent. I would not be surprised if other FHs just called the Zahard leader to cury his favor since he wants to be the king. They were just a crew with different roles and some teamplays. Repeating "Zahard was the leader" ten times does not change this. I am saying again and last, go check the mecha soldiers, pulling the lever chapter. Is there really a leader there? Before we see a flashback of those times where Zahard really lead the bunch and have some semblance of authority, I won't think of him as a definite leader in the meaning of word "leader". As V being the loser, I don't know, but who had Arlene? Yeah, I know the answer :)

Jahad looks like the type of guy that after their climb he stood atop a hill and shouted for all that would hear, "I am Jahad, I conquered the tower". Where as V always seemed as the type that would stand atop that same hill and shout out to all that would listen, "I am V, These are my companions and WE conquered the Tower".

Their false history talks about all the things "Jahad did", "Jahad conquered the tower", "Jahad brought in a new system", "Jahad bridged the gaps between species and peoples", "Jahad enabled everyone to climb and reach new heights", "Jahad is the greatest fisherman". However, from the panels that we saw at least from that point in time, none of that correlates to what we've been told. Jahad ran away from the Mechs, Jahad was nowhere to be seen, Jahad was hysterical as he was slamming on a door afraid of "imminent" death. V conquered the rice pot first. V brought in evolution for the tower(Good or bad). V took the people to new heights through his gift. V shared HIS power with his friends, V was calm and collected in the face of adversity.

It looks more and more like Jahad just took V's accomplishments through his climb and assigned it to himself. He is just another Rachel, the first one.

History belongs to the victors. That applies to every culture and every country. No matter what country you are in, the history you learn is skewed by the institutions that ruled in your country. Unless you research the origins or major in history, you cannot know the truth. Your complaining about Gustang's way but that is what every ruling institution should do.

Zahard was the winner and V was the loser for whatever reason. Your desire to flatter V is meaningless when he lost.

I'm not sure why people compare Zahard to Rachel when they have nothing in common. While Rachel is like V in that they share the same dream of reaching the top of the tower.
Zahard was superior from the start, but you always want to prove that he is inferior to V.
His initial personality resembles the typical male protagonist motif of old shonen manga.
And you find it ridiculous?

In the flashback, the only person attacking the robots is Yirang, and we haven't seen any of them attacking the robots (possibly due to game rules). Are you just complaining about Zahard? At least he did something, V didn't do anything.

V entering the rice pot first just proves that he is someone who doesn't care about his friends. Yirang, Gustang and Traumerei also listened to GoG's explanation but they didn't care, they only cared about saving others, not their own interests.

Only Traumerei saw V's wings, the others didn't. And you know, Traumerei was always loyal to Zahard. So your desire to deify V is meaningless.

Having wings doesn't make you a god or anything. Basically, no one with wings is strong. Phanta, Enryu, Zahard, Urek, and the other family heads don't have wings either.
