Got to admit Banri is one of those main characters you want to kill so bad for being a dumb bastard (Yuki from Mirai Nikki or Subaru from Re:Zero are good examples)
But those flaws as characters are exactly what makes them way more human and believable, I for example did not enjoy that much Ryuuji's character from Toradora (same author of Golden Time) because he felt way too flawless in contrast to Taiga.

Yuki from Mirai Nikki is some stupid asshole but he has the behaviour I would expect of someone with stockholm syndrome, same with Subaru and his inferiority complex or Tada Banri and his amnesia/multiple personality disorder.

Either way Im getting off topic already, we are here to talk about the waifus
Linda is one of those hidden gems that not much people remember, if you watch the whole show you will know why, hell I would even make campaign if someone nominates her

Dude, Erza would make an excellent waifu because if you're being bullied, she'll WRECK the bullies. Got 406 bullies picking on you? NO PROBLEMO, she'll make shish kebullies out of them for you. Or Juvia. Though, that's because she'll be your slave of love, whether sex slave or maidu. Isn't that nice-u? But yes, FT women don't really belong on waifu list-u, cuz they're not that impressive-u.

Though, Ran from Detective Conan would also make for an excellent waifu as well, probably one of the best.

Juvia, Erza, and Lucy are all legit in my opinion.

The issue is that after those there are literally hundreds if not thousands of subcharacter Waifu's. Fairy Tail covers all the bases in every proverbial sport. Don't get me wrong I respect the hell out of Hiro Mashima's ability to generate a never ending torrent of Waifu's but it's an inch deep and a mile wide. That being said whatever appeals to your tastes, Mashima's got you covered.

I have a similar outlook. But a few of the characters I just don't like personally and that would influence my own decisions.
