Poll is up!

Maybe

Germany (We use pre aura QP) VS Switzerland

1. Volk > Amadeus
2. Bismarck = Tatsuta
3. PRE AURA QP = Peter
4. Tezuka > Albert???
5. Bertie > Henri
6. Dankmar = Randy ???

??? So I think Germany really beats them in rank.
But if Bismarck is = to Tatsuta then he's pretty much equal to Amadeus, too.

Going back on topic,

Bismarck Service Game is his bread and butter.

So it is a question if Amadeus can break serve.

The spinless sway is such a wildcard because it is only used once by Bismarck against Duke andFuji.

So, we dont know how strong the shot is on the offensive. It might be only a defensive shot?
Nah, I imagine he used it the entire match, we just didn't get to see it. No reason for him not to keep Duke Homerun sealed.

It depends. It is true that it seals shots that need the SSS, but we also saw that it forced a lob from Duke, so it's not just a defensive move. I'm confident Amadeus has higher TEC than Duke, but I don't see him effortlessly returning the shot without having to slow down his own attacks.

Yes, but we all agree Amadeus beats Tatsuta though. (At least from what all I've seen here). So, yeah Amadeus will beat Bismarck imo. But it will be closer than one can imagine. I think Amadeus will win like 6 - 4, 7-5.

However, I wonder. If somehow Bismarck manage to force a tiebreak. Do we already give Bismarck the win in Tiebreak. Or Amadeus can actually beat Bismarck in Tiebreak? Hmmm.

For spinless sway.

Yeah, I mean Bismarck only used it against Duke/Fuji. He didn't used it against Tanegashima and Akaya. He didn't show it against Romeo too.

I wonder how effective spinless sway is.

Bismarck has only two special shots. Spinless Sway and Kick Serve. (At least the ones already unhidden)

That's the thing, Bismarck's service games are really hard to break so Amadeus' best chance is in a tie-break... but Bismarck never lost in one. Bismarck even looked stronger than Tanegashima when he wasn't serving and pushed him to a corner, the latter only scored because he was hiding Void Before Birth.

He didn't really get a chance to show much in the match. In the first set he sat, in the second they skipped all points until the tie-break, and then for the third they unlocked Synchro a chapter and 2/3s later. That said, it's a fair point. If the move was supposed to give him any advantage at all, we would had seen at least a glimpse of it at any point

For real? I haven't even voted yet haha.

Imo it's 50/50 but Amadeus certainly got a ton more hype behind him.

Problem with Zeus is that he's super op until he isn't. Can't really discuss much with him.

Even someone of Tanegashima level would lose against Zeus majority of the times. He need to be against the pro level. He might be able to even give Volk some fights, but Volk will probably beat him in the end.

Zeus will become a monster in the next World Cup.

Hot Take:

I think Future Zeus after 2 years will surpass Ralph and Amadeus Current level (They are 2 years older than Zeus)

However, for current Zeus, he still dominated Tanegashima 5-0 and only lost on a one time trick. (And the event of he only lose once in 100 universe against Tanegashima just happened to be in this universe)

PS: I think this should be in Zeus thread. Lol

Because of Bertie suddenly beating NiouZeus illusion?

Niou's illusion is not as strong though. His Byodoin copy is like what 10% of true Byodoin's power that fought Volk?😅

So, maybe Zeus illusion js less than 50% too?

Idk how strong Bertie is portrayed here though.

ROUND IS OVER

Amadeus Alexander

13th round:

Because of my schedule I'll be changing the times of this thread a bit. Matchups will be posted Sunday nights (early Monday in Europe) and polls will be opened Tuesday nights (early Wednesday in Europe).

Since Math keeps bringing Zeus up, let's give him the dumbest match-up possible: Can the man that always finds a way to win a rally keep it up against someone that turns his weaknesses into strengths?

Iris' Light (who knows what's this)

Ralph's 23.5 profile

Zeus' 23.5 profile

This is SFs Ralph as otherwise it's a no-contest.

Will add a poll tomorrow.

This is hard for me. If you ask me would the non-Volk captain be able to win 99 out of 100 matches against Pre-Germany Tanegashima, my gut feelings would have been a no. I would say 80 or maybe even 90 matches win wouldn't surprised me at all.

So based on that, 9 or 19 matches lead that Zeus can stomp Pre-Germany Tanegashima with... Maybe he can win?

But even if I say all that, Ralph is cooler. So assuming that he get undevoured by Ryoga, I'm actually cheering for him and want him to win. Maybe his weakness course that Zeus take advantage of couldn't last the entire match?

Current Raph get stomp 6-0 though. His tennis is gone.

This is very close.

I think Ralph will barely win

7 - 6, 6 - 7, 6 - 4.

I am assuming Ralph pre consumed ofc.

He can turn his weakness to strength. So ofc, Imo he can nullify Zeus pace rally

I think Iris' Light is the rainbow aura that scared Shiraishi, based on Zeus' 23.5 profile.

The same profile says he has a sick serve and that you cannot beat him using regular tactics. I don't think his match control would proc Ralph's ability: I assume Tanegashima would had noticed that Zeus was targeting weak points, but instead he was "somehow" winning every point.

Even then, Ralph's special skill sin't infallible to the point it grants him an ironwall defense: after its activation, Amadeus still out powered him in the second set, winning 7-6, and in the third set he lost 4-6.

Ralph's 23.5 doesn't really give us anything to think he can trick Zeus. It mostly highlights his accuracy, perception and captaincy.

I give this to Zeus.

That's literally the same scoreline as his match against Amadeus lmao.

The problem with Ralph is he doesnt have any special shots we know of in manga or even in books. But he is still the strongest team USA Player in Semis.

He can turn weakness into strength. But that is useless if opponent doesnt even bother to target your weaknesses.

I think Ralph is Pure Base Guy. No auras. But very good base tennis like a Germany Regular.

For Zeus, Actually, he can control pace. But you can think of a one time trick to win.

I am assuming bottlecap is not the only trick that can be used right?

That's the problem with Zeus, if he cannot predict the opponent's shot, he can't control pace.

We always bring the fact that he won 5 straight games against Tanegashima

But Him losing 7 straight points to Tanegashima is a thing too.

I cannot believe Zeus didn't figure out the trick in 7 whole games ngl.

Well, I think Zeus can 50 - 50 Amadeus.

While Ralph can win 60-40 against both of them.

Yeah it shouldn't just be the bottle cap. You need something that makes you play in a completely unpredictable matter (in Tanegashima's case, he didn't even know where he'd hit next).

Not sure how he would had noticed the trick, it's certainly not something people do...ever.

At the same time, Ralph couldn't break Amadeus' service games at all until he got 1 in the final set. Even if his one special ability countered Amadeus' style of attacking his opponent's biggest weaknesses with his darkness thingie.

Is there any basis on the numbers?

I always wanted to ask this. What is this thingy about "Keeping and Breaking Serve"?
Is it that really of a big deal in POT AND Npot?

Also, Isn't it possible that they could have just break each other serves? Or we just assumed they kept serves if their scores are similar?

Yes, thats the problem with Zeus. I wonder what he can do more if his opponent is naturally unpredictable.

Not too much on numbers. Just an estimate.

I just think Ralph is a better player. When we do tier list. Ralph is usually higher than Zeus iirc. In fact, in Captains thread, Ralph is just behind the Big 3 Captains (Volk, Medanore, Byodoin). While Zeus is dead last at 7th)

I see Ralph as a better player than Zeus, Tanegashima, and Bismarck tier. Ngl.

Anyways, for direct comparison. This will be close as hell. But I am putting my money on Ralph.

Breaking = winning the game when the opponent is serving. Serving is a huge advantage, needless to say. Statistically speaking, on a pro level the receiver wins only ~20% of the games, number that is even inflated because the best players break much more often (a match that ends 6-0 6-0 has 50% of breaks) + slower courts are more common around the world (slower court = slower serves = less advantage). The correct assumption then is that in a 3 sets match, service games get broken 8~ times total on average (only 4 for each player).

In PoT this is kinda exaggerated further and players that are relatively equal rarely get their service games broken unless the opponent gets some sort of upgrade that screws them over or unless plot really demands it like Tezuka vs Atobe.

In the no speculation thread they are actually in the same tier and no one has ever bothered to dispute that. Polls usually fall under "who's the least popular" trap.

Well, Amadeus just unanimously won against Bismarck, who was better than Tanegashima... but Zeus was way better than Tanegashima himself, so the comparison doesn't really work.

I just noticed I didn't reset the votes (since I didn't vote last time, it wasn't displayed for me). My bad, it's been fixed.

Finally, Best Matchup Recently.

Can Tokugawa's Black Hole and Righteousness Kijin Overpower QP's Ultimate Aura? Hmmm.

Or its the other way around.

QP doesn't have any special shots, so it will be interesting how will he deal with Black Hole. Maybe he can mirror what Frankensteiner Did.

However, QP has an aura. While Toku doesnt have. Toku have Kijin, QP doesn't have.

They are both left handed. So No advantage there.

IMO, QP's Ultimate Aura can beat Asura Kijin. But I am not sure If UA can best Righteousness Kijin.

(Isn't it the Kijin, which Byodoin failed to achieved. And hinted that Tokugawa will be the one who achieve it when it is his turn to take the path?)

This is 50-50 for me.

However, Tokugawa will be scaled to Medanore who is equal to Volk who we all know is stronger than QP.
(So by transitive property, Tokugawa should be stronger cause he will played an even match against Medanore)

UNLESS, Tokugawa will have a MASSIVE POWER BOOST that will make him jump tier like Ryoma will against Ryoga.

This is so 50-50.

But I will give a HOT take, and say Tokugawa can beat QP in like a Box office 3 set very close tiebreaker matches. That can go either way.

Boss didn't failed he chooses another path and hold the door for young man.
I don't think beating Medanore makes Tokugawa on the same roof with Monster Volk.
Now for this matchup, until seeing Tokugawa's full strength, I go with Q.P
His power and speed plus techniques are at very high level. Counters Golden Knife with TNK, and rest of the story.
He is perfect one.
Black Hole is good but even if work, last 30 min (half of the set)
Though it's too soon to vote. Q.P!

Why?

Volk and Medanore is in the same tier. Even if Volk is stronger, I doubt it will be a tier above difference. (In Fact, I wont be surprise if Medanore is stronger or at least as strong as Volk)

As for Tokugawa beating Medanore. If it is like how (Tane and Zeus went) where Tokugawa can only won once in a 100 times. Then, yeah that wont mean too much. But if he wins convincingly, then Toku will be in that Volk/Medanore/Byodoin Tier.

As for the match.

It came down to:

Righteousness Asura VS Ultimae Aura
