Since Kintarou cannot return Mu I'd see him as worse yes. A single point that had him unaffected by the Ultimate Void doesn't change that.

Ryoma is better than Kin and just lost to Duke, who in turn lost to Tanegashima in Round 1.

Why do you doubt that? Other than real life logic that Kin consistently defies. If he has no more weaknesses in his doubles game, then he removed those shackles and can at the very least perform at relatively the same level as in singles. Sounds straightforward to me.
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---
Because that Kintarou was consistently worst than even Renji and Shiraishi before which show he drop a shit ton of points to people a lot worst than him much less Tanegashima and he clearly wasn't his best self before. Just because a few games later I somehow very doubt he manage to play at his full level as his singles yet.

And now we are going around in circle which is why it is best for us to agree to disagree. This is a complete waste of both of our time.

As for Ryoma, we can see how Ryoma did against base Ryoga that is already better or at least the same as than Raph. And then we can know and judge Ryoma and Fuji actual current state against G5. If he got stomp by base Ryoga, then he's not yet on G5 level. If he can somehow play evenly with base Ryoga with his Samurai or PoP, then yes he's G5 level.
--- Double Post Merged, ---

I think Ludovic win against Kin. Ryoma is state to be stronger than current Kintarou and Ludovic is about equal to current Ryoma. Seem straight forward to me.

I will choose Kintaro.
I put a lots of bet on Kintaro's potential.
Both Oni anf Duke have stronger state compare to Byodoin in case of powers scale. But Byodoin got a massive potential which surpass them.
It's same for Kintaro, He managed to returned 10 ball vs Oni during first encounter then TNK.
Before TNK he catch up to Yukimura.
The doubles matches and the fast way he adapted himself, quick learner.
He is ultimate weapon of Japan.
Back to history of Japan, his kijin is Kintaro and I'm sure he would have achieved it during the match.
This is more than a probability, that what he is.
So Ryoma was hitted by glowing shit but the fact is, he surpassed Ludovic.
His next match, he must achieved his kijin.
With that we can bring him again in conversation with Ryoma.

Quiet match up :Saeki

Poll is up!

Imo Romeo is the strongest character Tezuka stands a chance against. Scaling wise, Romeo should be overall a better player: Romeo at 120% seemed relatively equal to HS 3 Atobe, who in turn was seen playing against HS 3 Tezuka. QP questioning Tezuka cements this further. On the other hand, Fernández doesn't really have any moves to counter the Ultimate Zone nor absurd Strength to power through.

I can see Romeo losing to the Ultimate Zone at first then turning things around in the second set with his Reset if Tezuka's intensity lingers. Also, if Materializar has any effect on Tezuka his odds greatly increase since he can avoid fighting the Zone altogether and might win the first set in the process.

Ngl. I dont think 120% Romeo is equal to 3rd HS Atobe.

Well, 100% Hormones Romeo cannot even return two simple right and left corner serves (Not even Special Serves) and a twist serve by Future Atobe. Being aced thrice in a row.

Now, for 120% Hormones Romeo. He was able to barely return World of Absolute Zero Serve (Future Version of Ice Emperor). But Atobe was able to predict it with his insight. And I think Atobe would have scored there if his body were not giving up. (Which is not a problem in his future body)

So, its all about matchups. LMAO.

Bismarck and Tanegashima beats Tezuka cause they have techniques which stops the spin of the ball. Which is Tezuka's Bread and Butter.

But Tezuka VS Romeo is an interesting fight. I think Majority will go with Romeo cause of Recency.

But ngl. Tezuka's Zero Shiki Serve will be a problem for Romeo.

We saw that one of Romeo's Weakness is returning Strong or Special Serves. Evident by being aced thrice in row by Atobe. (Almost 4 straight if not for a mid fight evolution 120% hormones)

I think Romeo will be able to figure it out but not without difficulty.
Not to mention Zero Shiki Lob, and Other Zero shiki shot variations.

The Ultimate Zone will be the key here also if how long can Romeo beat that technique

Also, TNK is in play. We never saw Romeo faced a TNK User yet.

But Romeo also have his own share of techniques that will give Tezuka Trouble.

That Meteriliar can give Romeo a huge advantage. Infinite Reset kinda helps against Zone. Then, his trump will be his hormones adjustment.

Why do you think 120% Romeo barely returned World of Absolute Zero? He got good returns in all of Atobe's serves, was never aced, and we saw him rally in all points except the first one where he return served an injured Atobe. Atobe's serve had no discernible effect on him.

I think the Aces were just there to show the gap between HS 2 Atobe and HS 3 Atobe, not that Romeo is particularly bad at defending serves.

Zero Shiki Lob is kind of a meme. The drop shot is a good finisher but for the Lob you have plenty of time to react, especially given it's a slice lob. It just worked on Yukimura since Yuki was expecting the point to play the same way an earlier one did (Tezuka essentially did a Reverse Uno card there and beat Yukimura at his own game).

Romeo hadn't faced a TnK user before, but Atobe was seemingly TnK level when their match started and Romeo walked over him before even adjusting his hormones. Romeo's mental fortitude probably won't let him get engulfed by the Light, either, and following Kaoz's theory his personality is similar to Ludwig's and Ryoma didn't even bother using TnK against the French rep.

Wait. Even Tezuka Phantom will give Romeo Trouble. It will force his shots to go out. Unless Romeo can use Mirage Mirror or Forest/Lightning (which he cant). So he need to find another way.

Then even if he finds a way. Ultimate Zone will force it to be a Tezuka Zone Battle again.

Does Romeo Infinite Reset Counters Tezuka Zone? The goal of Tezuka Zone is to tire your opponent by standing at same spot, while your opponent run the court right?

On, the other hand. Is Tezuka Mentally Strong enough to fight his Materializar?

He will surely see Volk and maybe Bismarck and QP. Imagine a Buff Version of Volk, BIS, and QP in Illusion. LMAO

Yeah, Romeo should be forced to play S&V or something like that to diminish the effect of the Zones, since he has no way to counter them directly. I don't recall any specifics about Romeo's spin control either to make any sort of argument (whereas Henri for example is a "spin magician").

I don't remember Tezuka ever focusing on tiring his opponent (the closest was doing an endurance battle against Atobe). It's more like being able to constantly attack from perfect spots since you don't even have to move much and defend, if at all.

Atobe's Mental was strong enough to overcome Ochi's Mental Assassination, and 300 chapters later he still fell for Materializar after a couple of points. I don't see why Tezuka wouldn't. Even if TnK is somehow a direct counter to it, remember that he was still being affected by Yips, so he should drop points here and there here too until he overcomes his fears (whichever they are).

Depends if Existence Boundary Negates Satellite Perspective.
(If yes, Bismarck/Siegfried Wins easy)

Assuming it wont. Then it will be an even match. However, Dankmar is the weak link here. He has the worst showing among German Reps in Semis. In fact, all he did was gigantize himself. Then, let Bertie Do the work.

It will go down to Bismarck VS Bertie. And we all know from official canon statements in manga that Bismarck is stronger than Bertie.

Siegfried TNK will be a big factor too. We dont know if Bertie and Dankmar can rally against TNK.

However, I remembered Bertie/Dankmar 6-0 Volk/Tezuka.

Volk is like 10 x stronger than Bertie. And I will argue Tezuka is 2x Stronger than Dankmar. But it still end up 6-0 in favor of doubles pro because of superior doubles bonus.

So, to summarize

If Existence Boundary Negates doubles pro howling. Then Bismarck/Siegfried Wins.

If It doesn't Negate the chemistry of Doubles pro. The doubles pro win because of better teamwork

Imo Dankmar is this giant beat stick with great foundation / stats that is there just to be used by Bertie, so his overall might be quite good even if he's worse than Tezuka (Bertie should be worse, too, if base ourselves on the "IF this is doubles we are better than you" line).

It wasn't just doubles bonus, they activated their Howling because they were being pressured. The Pro Doubles won in straight sets, but not 6-0 6-0. We don't know how many games Volk/Tezuka won in the second set (the first one ended 6-3).

I do wonder if players need to be in a pinch/pressured for Howling to activate. All 6 of them were activated in a situation like that. It would explain why they never activated it against Duke-Niou until the final moments, they just never felt like they could lose.

I don't think the doubles pro have better teamwork, Bismarck-Siegfried literally have Synchro which is peak teamwork (and the Doubles Pros don't). This is how Pair Puri 4 describes Synchro Pairs:

"Synchro Type
The ideal type who needs no signs!

They represent the ideal doubles who has no need for words or even exchanging glances. They can understand their partner's movement unconsciously, so they do not have any hestitation.

They understand all that their partner will do and how they should move. Every movement assists their partner. "

If Bismarck/Siegfried use their Howling, then Bertie/Schneider with their howling can counter them. One thing is that because Dankmar stays still and doesn’t move, with him being a giant and his wide field of vision, he sends info towards Bertie via satelliteperspective and using that info they can return the ball. If Dankmar doesn’t move and only Bertie plays with the info Dankmar sends to him to seal the dead spots of their side of the court, shouldn’t that seal Existence Boundary’s main power? If Bertie plays alone with their Howling and counters Bismarck and Siegfried they can’t divide the pair, because only Bertie is playing and they communicate each other with their Howling while Dankmar gigantamaxes himself.

That's a cool point. We've often said that Existance Boundary counters the Doubles Pros, but it could very well be the total opposite: as long as Dankmar has a clear look on the court, their communication may not be interrupted. Also this communication combined with their already high support bonus may be almost as good as Synchro itself.

Then the question is, can Bismarck-Siegfried outpower Bertie's buffed Data Tennis?

Siegfried is absolutely no match against Bertie. Let alone buffed version

It will end up with Bismarck VS Bertie (Being Buffed).

However, Bismarck is described as a
"Skilled Hawk who hides its talons"

So, Even if they are in the same team. I don't think Bertie's data on Bismarck is 100% accurate. (Basically mirroring Inui cannot get Fuji's data back in Seigaku)

Bismarck used a special Kick Serve (aced Tanegashima) for the first time in semis. And i think It was implied it is the first time he used it in front of his German Teammates

Why would it turn into singles? They have Synchro, not reason not to use it. With Doubles' higher pace and Schneider relegated mostly to behind the baseline, Bertie shouldn't be able to reach every ball (even if he knows where it will go).

Pretty sure Saeki, Nomura and Zaizen have a similar "eagle who hides his talons" description in some fanbooks, it certainly doesn't mean the player has unattainable data (in Saeki's case, the most different one, it just meant he doesn't switch gears unless provoked). He probably just doesn't go all in unless he has to and hides one trump card, but Bertie has shown to adapt very quickly.

I didn't get that impression from his Kick Serve either tbh.

Honestly Bertie should be able to deal with Bismarck, he quickly countered Niou’s illusions and cans probably counter any of the Japanese players, so Bismarck should get countered. Bertie quickly adapting would be a problem for Bismarck, and Siegfried has TnK but I doubt it even fazes Bertie.

Niou's illusions were seemingly incomplete though, considering his Byoudouin wasn't even 50% as strong as the real one (and he had seen 60% Byoudouin against Tokugawa, so he could had just copied that). He was likely copying the styles and specials of the players but with a stat total still under 20, which is extremely likely dwarfed by both Sieg and Bismarck individually, not even talking about them together synchroing.

As a direct comparison, Bismarck alone was doing relatively ok against Duke and Fuji. Bertie still had Schneider's support even if Konomi relegated the latter to the background (which is the only way we saw him counter Duke Homerun).

I just think Dankmar and Siegfried will be sidelined here. And just be support.

Then, it will be Bertie VS Bismarck/Siegfried Synchro.

Idk how Bertie (being buffed by satellite) can handle Bismarck and Siegfried.

Bertie adapts quickly. But he still takes longer time when he have insufficient data on the player. Perfect Example is Niou's copy illusion of Noah. Iirc, Bertie had a tougher time adapting against Noah Illusion than Other Illusions (Zeus, Camus, etc) that are probably stronger than Noah.

I do wonder if players need to be in a pinch/pressured for Howling to activate. All 6 of them were activated in a situation like that. It would explain why they never activated it against Duke-Niou until the final moments, they just never felt like they could lose.
Assuming this is true. I wonder how the two pairs perform without Synchro/howling at the beginning.

We are assuming, both pairs will use howling right at the start. Lol

But why would they be sidelined? That hardly happens in real pairs. Even after Tanegashima and Akaya got their big upgrades, Bismarck and Siegfried scored "through synchro", not through individual work (hell, thanks to coordinating with synchro they almost score on Mu, but Tanegashima was 1 step ahead and unlocked a final special move for the final point).

Camus and Noah worked relatively on the same level. Both won 2 games, lost one, then got hard countered by Bertie. That said, Camus' very unique tennis could be a factor moreso than how strong it is.

I'm inclined to think Synchro allows Bismarck-Siegfried to barely edge the Doubles Pros. It is true that the latter won with relative comfort thanks to Satellite Perspective against Volk and Tezuka (who are both better than Bismarck and Siegfried, respectively) but these 2 had pretty much 0 support bonus in doubles whereas Synchro is peak teamwork.

Anyway, For my answer. I changed my mind

I decided to go with Bismarck/Siegfried. because they are the only ones who showed that they can combined Synchro and Howling.

Other pairs have Howling because they have skills that attract each other. But not enough teamwork to do synchro. (Camus/Duke, Doubles Pro, Yukimura/Toku)

And vice versa, there are other pairs who can do synchro because of excellent teamwork. But doesnt have skills that can be combined to do an howling.
(Ex: Kikumaru/Oishi, Mutsu Twins)

ROUND IS OVER

Volk Bertie / Schneider Dankmar

11th Round:

I cannot quickly come up with anything, so I'll go with an earlier suggestion: Duke edged Ryoma by little in their discussion, and so did Irie against Yukimura. How are these two matched, then?

Their 10.5 profiles are here.

Irie's tenipuri party profile.

Ryoma's tenipuri party profile.

"Keep in mind their stats are not up to date: Ryoma has one of the highest growth rates in the series and his Samurai has likely buffed one of his stats greatly (if he can dominate it). Duke has likely managed to get a 10 in Power with his Ki Jin, making his total a beautiful 30.

Poll will be up another day. I will update this post if I've missed anything.

On their stats I find it noteworthy that Kurobe pointed this out about Irie:

Stamina - 2: With his low stamina, he is unsuited for long, drawn out matches. However, taking into account that even when he forfeited the match against Atobe, it looked as if he still had stamina left to spare. Frankly, it's unfathomable.

Kurobe Memo:
He is fascinated with developing a match by setting up scenes and performances. However, with his current balance, it limits the kinds of opponents he can win against. He really needs to build up his physical side.

And then Konomi had him defeat Date, who has a 5 in Stamina and 6 in Power."

Will add a poll and details to this post later (if needed).
