It was stated that he can because in chapter 404 he saw that Romeo was able to evolve and return his world of ice. If he is able to predict that then he probably also can see Akutsu's attack patterns.
At what part of that chapter? I didn't bother to check the text before, but I'm quickly checking it rn and it just says that he used World of Absolute Zero (not World of Ice) as a decoy to play S&V, which is nothing new in the series. People outread and bait each other all the time.

@Hardy

Based on your arguments for Akutsu?

It seems like you have Akutsu as Japan's Strongest Mser so far.
He could be. Konomi had planned to remove Akutsu from the story anyway, so he made him absurdly OP then used this OP ability as the bread and butter of the man that ended up beating the best player in the world.
--- Double Post Merged, ---

Chapter 399: "I never thought that you would be able to see the future potential of your friends and yourself thanks to your "Insight" (it's not actually named Insight but he's talking about it)."

Amadeus' Darkness is some sort of Insight attack, though, and it had limits that Akutsu kept one-upping:

"He’s proud of his ‘Dark Side’ tennis, and he can easily return ‘Destruction’.
The composed and proud player is aware of the potential of younger players…!? His unwavering determination, unbreakable concentration and his ability to see through skills with his insight etc… are all at a high level. Regardless of nationality or age, he recognizes strength and is particularly fond of the talent of young players.
"

None of Atobe's shots seemed to be using the Super Sweet Spot. Nor were Romeo's own strikes reflected at any point. I do think that Atobe at HS3 might be able to do it but not the current one, so he's at a disadvantage if he doesn't use his Evolution.

8C counters Atobe Kingdom. Atobe needs to analyse several patterns at once. On top of that, Akutsu's tennis is formless thanks to his flexibility and he can attack from any angle.
That's not how Atobe Kingdom works though. It analyzes the person's skeletal structure and lets Atobe know the blindspots that the opponent physically can't get too. While Akutsu likely has few Absolute Blind Spots because of his flexibility, he should still have openings. Unless you're arguing there's no spot on yhe court Akutsu can't get to?

I'm saying he has fewer openings and can cover more ground because of his flexibility, yeah. For instance, against Tanegashima he was closer to Mu than Sanada, even if they both have 4 Speed.

Atobe would be analysing 5+ different Akutsus at once.

Atobe Kingdom might not be enough.

But Atobe Dimension should be.

Because based on portrayal in GOF and Manga. It analyzes as many as the atoms in the universe?

(It is a hyperbole ofc. But it should increase the range of Atobe Kingdom right?)

Based on planets and universe representation of Atobe Dimension?

I might interpreted it wrongly though

Atobe Dimension is not canon and a completely different thing compared to Atobe's Infinite Evolution.

Nope, he used his insight to evolve his level of tennis, becoming as strong as he would be as a 3rd year Hser. Atobe Dimension was only on GOF and was non canon, and a completely different thing than his current upgrade.

The very first sentence of the chapter says "Atobe completely predicted Romeo's return smash, he rushes forward".

The very first sentence of the chapter says "Atobe completely predicted Romeo's return smash, he rushes forward".
But how do we know it's suddenly some sort of Saiki situation? The ability wasn't explained as something like that. Atobe was using the abilities and knowledge of his future self, copying skills and attack patterns. All we got was "he read his return and used his new serve as a decoy".

Atobe had used his Insight to analyse Romeo's hormone adjustment right before and went as far to know hormones were being ajusted, he could had noticed that the ability would get pushed with pressure.

Nevermind the fact that, much like Saiki or Data Tennis or whatever, it shouldn't be flawless (it wasn't).

His insight should work on 8C, just like Amadeus' did, yes. But the point is that, at the end of the day, even if the Swiss' insight was Pro level it took him a whole hour to beat 8C5.

But he still couldn't get to it. Proving there are points he can't reach. And Akutsu doesn't make his copies until he goes to return, which he can't do since Atobe Kingdom hits the ball to a part of the court he physically can't get too.

That being said Atobe Kingdom just doesn't trigger 90% of the time. Like it should make Atobe borderline unbeatable against anyone who doesn't have a OHKO or Just can cover everything, but it doesn't. He only used it once against Ochi / Mouri and i think that was it. So maybe it's just way harder to proc than i think.

So while i do Atobe Kingdom in theory should shut down Akutsu's 8C, i think Akutsu takes it because of Destruction and because Kingdom has some hidden limits on it

This is over. Atobe leads Akutsu 9-2

For the next matchups, I reccommend something like:

Ochi VS Osval

Irie VS Ludovic

Mouri VS Albert

Tezuka VS Ralph

Tezuka VS Zeus

Yukimura VS Ochi

Sanada VS Irie

Duke VS Zeus

Duke VS Bismarck

The theme is different playstle face offs.

Nah, much funnier this way so we can look back in a year and see how stupid we were (or not).

I will go with another Hot Take here and pick
Ochi. (I know hardy will go and defend Sanada. Hahaha)

Sanada Cant Return Mach.

So Ochi will just spam Mach Serve every service game. So he will win all his service game.

Sanada will need to keep all of his service game which is hard to do against a Player older, more experienced, and have better stats than you.

So yeah.

Hot Take: Ochi Takes this one.

And yes, Ochi will even have more powerup in Finals. But set that aside)

PS: Ochi was former #4 too when Kaji is #5. So, if we treat Kaji as G5 Base Stat Level, then Ochi is too.

If I got the timeline right, Originally, Kaji is #5, Ochi is #4. Then Kiratini replaced Ochi at #4 spot, and Ochi partnered Mouri so they are #9 and #10.

No, I actually think Ochi wins thanks to the level he showed against Heracles.

He cannot use Mach Serve every service game, though, he'd get injured if he does. He can use the Smash version of it if an opportunity arises, however.

Lol. Poor Sanada

While his Former Rivals Tezuka, Atobe, Yukimura are considered G5 or near G5 level

He maintained in Genius # 9- #10 level. Lol

(I am not sure he can beat Mouri too. But that is a discussion for another day. Lol)

Little sidenote for scaling

How strong is Heracles?

Based on databooks description.

If I will guess based on Greece data book,

After Zeus, who are the strongest?

Is it Heracles?

Or Hades, Vulcan, Hermes are being implied stronger?

Greece seemingly spread their talents to develop everyone (like Japan) instead of fielding very strong teams for 2 match ups like Switzerland and Australia did. Evangelos (despite his little experience) and Zeus are the most talented in their age groups, but for the rest we do not have much to go with.

I assume Hades and the third captain (Poseidon to keep the narrative going?) were stronger than Heracles, at the very least.

The match I am waiting is Medanore VS Tokugawa

So we can have cross matchups like Medanore VS Byodoin, Tokugawa (Post Medaore match) VS Volk.

Going back,

Is Ochi a one trick pony? Hardy listed like 10 techniques of Sanada. But only 1 for Ochi , albeit a killer one.

Do you guys think Ochi have some other moves than Mach?

Or his another ability is just Pressuring you mentally?

He has his Mental Assassination but since it's not listed I didn't add it. Can be done.

He also has that "aura" that he activated against Heracles to keep up with his Silver Aura, but I'm not sure if it's just Konomi doing a visualization of the Mental Assassination again.

He also showed Warp but it shouldn't matter here anyway since Sanada shouldn't be able to touch Mach.
--- Double Post Merged, ---

Ah, and Konomi made him a Counter Puncher for some reason instead of the more common Aggressive Baseliner or S&V for big servers.

Konomi talked about Counter Punchers in the pair puris. I'd say Ochi fits Offensive Counter Puncher the most: He managed to force Heracles to hit out even if the latter was using an aura that made him more agile. His Speed is 6 and fits the other speedsters in this category (...and Kai is also there but whatever).

In 10.5 it's said that Ochi could play singles if he wanted so being forced to use Mach less doesn't seem to be an impediment at all.
