Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

Wow @ One Piece Volume 54 still being on the list with Volume 55 out. That's just crazy. Beelzebub and Kuroko are also both doing well.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

Good going Beelzebub. Nice to see it coming out of the gate strong.

Hmm, I thought Gintama tends to sell a bit more than that on its first week? Although 200K is still a lot by most series standards.

One Piece really had been doing its thing lately.

Gintama is right at it's average. Volume 29 sold 204,432 copies in it's first week.

At this rate, I think Kuroko can enter top 10 at volume 4.

Does anybody knows whether Sket Dance passed 1,000,000 sales or close?

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

I have to agree about Kuroko. It will be a top ten series by volume four, probably selling in the 50 - 60,000 range. It may take a few more volumes for 100K plus but I bet it gets there.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

Hmm. Nice to see Gintama making such a strong opening, although the arc itself wasn't popular in the TOC. (In fact it sort of marked where Gintama fell from the middle to lower back, and it still hasn't made a full recovery.) Although Sorachi broke his promise about 30 volumes :-P Never trust a Gorilla I guess....

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

KimiTodo FTW!!! I know every volume sells this well but it's so nice seeing it at number two. Any shojo fans who haven't read it are missing out. Actually if your a fan of manga and haven't read it, your missing out :p Beelzebub breaking 100K in it's second week is a welcome sight as well. While I don't care for Kuroko myself this is an impressive second week. It is well on it's way to being a hit.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

One Piece still going strong as usual.

Nice going Beelzebub. Breaking the 100K by the 2nd volume is pretty damn good.

I think this is the first time I've had the chance to see figures for Elemental Gelade. I've always been curious about how well it sells.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

this time the volume 55 of one piece is 2,600,000 in circulation
it's unbelievable
it's the seconds times one piece that reached this record

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

it's not the sale but it's the number of copies in circulation for the first print
one piece have the record twice in volume 26 and now 55

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

Is that a fan site, a sales tracker like Oricon, a distributor, wholesaler, or publisher? By circulation does that mean total printed? Oricon should be a bit below total sold by Shueisha to retailers. Not all stores report to Oricon so it should be a little low. But unless Shueisha reported total printed and sitting in warehouses somewhere and someone posted it to that geocite, a 1.2 million copy discrepancy seems a bit large.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

first sorry for my english

for volume 54 after 15 weeks, they had sold nearly 1.9 million copies
this number from oricon

it's an approximately 73% of total printed (I supposes is the 2.6 million is the total)

for me it's normal and rational

That number is for 1st edition's printings and I think those numbers are always officially announced by Shueisha : ) [Edit: yeah, source is stated as s-book.net directly from Shueisha]

As for that site, it's fan made but all based on loads of information from 2ch, official numbers and numbers stated in web articles/articles from magazines.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

The Ippo volume I assume would be 89 right?

And nice to see it selling pretty decently even after all these years.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

Ippo's solid. It's been one of Magazines top sellers for god knows how long now. I'm happy Ahiru (barely) out sold Fairy Tail. And of course Soul Eater is as strong as usual.
